Went for the Byward Market Dinner hopping tour on Victoria Day long weekend…read more Everything was done very professionally, and being able to just sit down, get wine and food brought to you and then leave without worrying about a bill is pretty hard to beat. The restaurants you get taken to will vary depending on a few factors, such as how big your tour group is and how busy the restaurants are. Our tour host was very knowledgeable and took care of any concerns we had along the way. Just a few constructive criticisms - Our online booking caused a bit of trouble but our host made sure to get us caught up with our group. If you are booking last minute, I would email or call to make sure your booking was received. Be EARLY since they start right on time or even early. - The walking tour portion of Byward market could use some expanding. It's nice to learn about the history of everything and what's going on, but since you are on such a tight schedule, there's only time to stop for a minute or two at a handful of spots. - I'm a meat lover and was a bit sad we didn't get more meat, but this could be restaurant specific. Portion sizes were okay, about what you'd expect at restaurants going for quality over quantity.

Having four different dishes at four different restaurants is definitely my idea of a great meal out! We hit up the Brig for a cheese plate, Play for salad, Kinki for sushi and Must for dessert. Everything was excellent and nice to have the accompanying wine at each location. All the restaurants were really accommodating to our various dietary restrictions (trust me when I say we were a challenging crowd)! Corey really went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of at each place. Highly recommended!!

But decent. I always leave with at least one bottle after sharing a small flight. My fave is the German one. Don't ask me to spell it. Lol. I'll take a pic of it. Big tent for rainy days on site. Gets an extra point for being dog friendly. Food/kitchen has changed and the menu is more varied. Lots of parking in the lot. I would recommend to anyone and while in Carp there is a lot of other cute places to see there too!

Celebrated my bachelorette here, and everyone couldn't stop praising the tour. The added option to linger, either enjoying the on-site seating or heading to Jos restaurant, coupled with its pet and family-friendly atmosphere, enhanced the visit.

All of them were right on point. 2 of these choices were based on talking with Jason and telling him what we are looking for, and he hit the profile bang on. I bottled on my own and was offered help in every stage as well. I was making wine elsewhere and recently realised that I was just not finding the quality good enough to serve to friends. I made the pink Pinot and was super impressed but THEN made the Prosecco type in only a few weeks and last night my guests drank TEN bottles!! it was such a hit. Delicious and reasonable. I had one guest who will be making it for her wedding! I had LCBO wine beside it and they went for the Wine station Prosecco (Champagnade) every time. Plus popping those corks made it feel special! Thanks for suggesting it and rushing it for me Jason!! A Happy customer....Tina.

Since the Buzz disappeared mid-pandemic, there has been a wine bar sized hole in the heart of Centretown. My first introduction to Buyers and Cellars was a birthday celebration where my friend treated me to a tasting. It was every bit as girly and glamorous as you imagine. We were all dressed up and sampled 5 wines - 1 oz each and "travelled" from the Alps of Switzerland and Italy to Chile. My friend and I chatted happily in between tastings while the sommelier regaled us with stories of each winery, how long they had been in business, and how many of the wines they sell can only be found here. Imagine! These rich tasting wines not available anywhere else in the country. The wine from the Alps , for example, is only made in very small batches. I bought a bottle and I was hooked. I have since gone back twice - once when I was in a pinch and couldn't get to the LCBO or it was close to closing - and this evening. The second time I came away with two bottles and a free glass of wine. Tonight, I stopped in to pick up a nice bottle of wine for dinner on Friday, and asked if it wasn't too busy if I could sit and have a drink. The sommelier happily obliged and poured me three 1oz glasses, each of a rossa, carmeniere and a Croatian red wine. The Croatian, called Dika, was my favourite, so I bought two bottles ($60). The bartender comped my tasting, and I was happily on my way... but I'll be back!

AMAZING !! This experience is literally every foodie's dream . Atelier is a 44 course tasting menu…read moreand you are there minimum 4hours , is a whole thing . I enjoyed every bite of everything (besides foie gras , that's definitely not my thing ) . The concept is amazing , the taste , the presentation just everything is top notch . This is definitely something to do on a special occasion as it is pricey , we got with the cocktail pairing (5 cocktails) it had beautiful presentations and it perfect amount of alcohol . Before going I saw a few reviews saying that the place itself was very confusing as the chairs were plastic and there was some random QR codes on the table and it didn't have any identity . I must say the QR codes have been removed however the decor is very minimalist and very black and white . Personally I do not mind, happy that the QR codes are gone for me it was more that just the music was very pop and a bit loud but it was fine with a few drinks I stopped caring. This was a wholesome experience that I don't know when I'll have something like this ever however I'm very happy I did it and I hope everyone is lucky enough to try an experience like this . Believe me you're gonna be FULL when you finish , the last service was veryy hard to finish , so much food !!! 10/10 recommend !! Side note: I'm a veryyy picky eater , so I was a bit scared of the dishes however everything was soo gooddd !

Overall, 4.25/5: 3.5/5 for food, 5/5 for drinks, 4.5 for service. Would I come again? Probably not unfortunately. $225/person for the tasting menu, $150/person for the cocktail pairing. Most folks got the wine pairing, of which there are 3 options: bespoke/luxe, regular, and half pairing. I had missed getting the cocktail pairing at Alo last year so was very excited that Atelier's cocktail program is just as exceptional. The cocktails were our favourite part of the night. Now onto the food. The 40 course concept was interesting, but misleading. It's 40 dishes, served over about 6-7 courses. It's not what I had signed up for; we actually got too full after the 4th course because of just the volume of food and poor planning of the menu. We barely ate the 5th and 6th courses, and got all the non-frozen desserts packed in the last course. My problem with this style of courses is also that the 'courses' that were served together in waves really clashed at times, and didn't go together. We had a full protein round where it was 5 different proteins cooked sous vide with different sauces. The flavour combos seemed quite random, and there were actually several dishes (like 5+) through out the 40 dishes with elements I blatantly disliked and even spit out once (sorry, it was just so sour and gross). I understand the concept of 40 courses, but it just wasn't executed very well and several items just weren't tasty to me. Again, personal opinion, I don't claim to be a food critic, I just like eating shit that tastes good tbh this place is the best example of plating over taste; most of the food was very good, but nothing special or outstanding. Even the sphérification and nitrogen tricks that they're known for weren't actually tasty when it came to eating the food after it was presented.

I live in Kanata and highly recommend this place for wine…read more They have such a variety it should appeal to almost anyones tastes. For example here are my experiences: 1) I regularily purchase boxs of their table wine. It is so much easier then bottling and the box can sit on the kitchen counter for up to 6 weeks. The taste of their table wine is better then I have had from a number of Italian winery shops across the city. 2) I have purchased a batch of their 9 month wine that sat in oak casks. As good as expensive LCBO wine at less than half the price. 3) we used their wine for my daughters wedding. It was very very acceptable and much less costly. Just paid corking fees to the venue. Also was able to provide as giveaways at the wedding a 375ml bottle with special labels to remember the occaision. A unique idea for us. My point is give them a try and go in with what you really want from a wine shop and likely they will satisfy your needs.
