"Avant Rooter" just finished repairing our kitchen sink strainer. The strainer nut was frozen solid and I could not remove it! I called them on Tues late and they were out on Wednesday as promised and on time. The technician " Evan Pearson", was polite, knowledgeable and there was NO GIVE UP from him on removing a VERY STUBBORN Strainer Nut....he worked his tail off to remove and remedy the problem until it was completely resolved to both our satisfaction. Walter and his team did a great job replacing a section of my main sewer line that was completely blocked by a root ball. They had to remove masonry and dig a 4 1/2 ft. hole to access the pipe. They were very careful with all the excavating and did a professional job splicing my sewer line and adding new piping. They came everyday, put everything back together, including replacing a section of brick and mortar that had to be removed, and cleaned up everything, including hauling away all the debris. Prior to this repair, I had to first snake the main line and Avant's pricing was reasonable and competitive, as was the bigger job they did. Kudos to Freddy and Gonzalo who did all the heavy lifting on the sewer line replacement. They were professional gentlemen and meticulous in their work and cleanup. read more

I wanted very badly to be able to write a good review. I submitted a request through Yelp for a plumber to solve: 1. A major link from a bathtub. 2. Rebuild two toilets 3. Install a garbage disposal. Avant charged almost $1,000 for these service. They've made 5 trips and one guy missed 3 appointments. The tub, as far as I can tell, is not leaking thankfully. On 4 of the trips they had to look at the garbage disposal which still leaks though now from a totally different place... On all 5 of the trips they've had to look at the toilet. It currently takes 1 minute and a half to flush which is longer than when they started. Their office team has always been responsive and the plumbers they send have been very nice. And they've always called to say when they could not make the appointment. As soon as the Covid lockdown ends, I'll go to Home Depot and figure out what I need to repair them again. read more

I hate plumbing! It's almost like dealing with a used car dealer. The anticipation of a big job, haggling and just the general inconvenience of it all. But a non functioning toilet is more of an inconvenience, yes?! I contacted five plumbing companies (including my apartment mgmt) only to get no answers or voice mails. Ugh! I gave Avant Rooter a call, got someone that answered and took down my info. She called me back in less than 5 minutes to tell me that someone would be here between 12 and 2. Kyle was here at 11:59! Took a look around and gave the assessment and price. And that was that, no add-ons or upsell, no fine Corinthian leather. He was thorough and did his best not to make too big of a mess (toilet and shower drainage). He was polite and professional. I have an account on Yelp but I don't leave many reviews, but the service was outstanding. So this is the 2nd time I called Avant Rooter but the first review because I hardly review anything but this seemed worth my time. My elderly mother-in-law's bathroom got clogged and because she NEEDS that bathroom I needed someone right away. Avant Rooter came within 20 minutes and took care of the problem. Kyle, who had been to our house before was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, clean and WORE A MASK which was important to us. He took care of the problem in no time and charged me less for doing it than I've paid before to other plumbers. So, so thrilled with the work Ivar did for us this morning. We have had a leaky valve under the kitchen sink connected to an old water filter that connected to a fridge we inherited with the house and we don't use the ice maker at all so we just needed to get that leak sorted. Evan came and took care of my drain. I spent hours the night before doing all that youtube/internet could help me with. I removed/cleaned p-trap, put boiling water down the drain, used vinegar/baking soda, even tried snaking after I removed the p-trap. No luck. So I gave up and read a bunch of Yelp reviews and asked for quotes and decided on Avant. Evan showed up on time, was courteous and informative. He was very clear about what he would do and suggest and the pricing associated. Seemed very honest and upfront. He ended up snaking from the clean out and did it multiple times. He kept testing it to see that it worked and went above and beyond. He even gave good advice with regards to the future. So paid the drain clean special ($69) and was happy to do so with the service. Evan was great. He knew what he was doing and was able to communicate what was going on and what he was looking for to make sure the problem was over. My drain had lots of grease/organic material. Great customer service, excellent response and communication, very professional. We had a series of issues that started while we were cleaning and renovating our guest house for new renters. The shutoff valves for the main house and the guest house were old and frozen. The valves for the kitchen sink couldn't be replaced unit the shut off valves were replaced. Avant contacted me immediately on a Sunday, and sent Miguel out. Miguel and his supervisor arrived on time diagnosed the problem quickly and scheduled the repairs for the next day. Jim showed up with his mask down below his nose. He took a look at the area where my basement had flooded during the rain. A quote never came. In the interim, a leak from my refrigerator was detected. He came out again and emptied the pan declaring it to be condensation. When it turned out that he'd misdiagnosed the problem, I called him out again and after the appointment time, I called to see what was going on only to find he was sick. Ok, we rescheduled for 3 days later and again he didn't come, I called, he was sick again and wanted to come next week. Quote never came for the basement. Very bad way to do business! read more

Hired this company to hydrojet a line and Jeff came out. Charged me $700.00 to hydrojet a 60' line. When I asked him to finish by finding the clog in another pipe he said that he doesn't hydrojet any lines that have a 90 degree elbow. He refused to finish the work he started and I had to hire another company which I paid $300.00 to hydrojet the line that had the 90 degree angle which he said was no problem. Why is it so hard to find an honest plumber? He also was talking on the phone with the office during our appointment complaining about other customers being a waste of time when they didn't get the work done with him. I also let him borrow my step ladder to use to get to the other side of the fence and he didn't even bring it back to the other side! He left is all muddy and nasty for me to clean up for him..... I guess I ended up working for him instead of the other way around. What a waste of time this company is...they are just out to make the most amount of money with the least amount of work possible. He spent a total of 30 minutes at my house and got away with $700.00 and didn't fix the problem. He also wanted to charge me for additional work which he quoted me 7K for! LoL, I hired another company to do the same work for $750.00. read more

Beware of Avant. Had a clogged sewer line and called them. Friendly guys, cleared the drain with good 1st time response and pricing, but after that the experience went downhill fast. Had them come out a 2nd time and per their recommendation used hydro jet service. It was expensive but within 2 weeks the line was clogged again. After agreeing to stand by their work and come out for no charge to clear the line, they changed their mind a day later. Their new "after the fact" service...no warranty for sewer line cleaning, new price was $259 (5x the original price for a basic clean out). TOTAL RIP-OFF! We called someone else, easily finding a normal deal. read more
