I get a phone call saying my dog has a small cut on her head and that everything's fine. I go pick her up and find a large laceration on her head and once I got home I found a puncture wound on her side that my vet confirmed went down to the muscle tissue. The Dogtopia manager told me that she did not clean the wounds she used a non-antibacterial non-scented baby wipe and applied ointment. This is going to trap bacteria in and a wound this deep can easily get infected especially in an environment with lots of dogs. Their staff "doesn't know what happened". They will not share any of the surveillance footage. They only offered to pay the vet bill once I threatened to take legal action if they didn't. I have worked at dog daycare's prior and we had never sent a dog home with injuries like that and no idea how they happened and no explanation. They tried to tell me that she hit her head at first and it was a small cut and upon inspecting her it is a large laceration all the way through the skin and I discovered the puncture wound because she was licking it once she got home and that goes down to the muscle. It blows my mind that they downplay it so much and will not share their surveillance video. They are clearly not watching them/keeping rooms under control. I would never feel comfortable allowing them to watch my dog ever again, they are not taking safety as a priority. If you're understaffed you need to stop taking in dogs at a certain point so that staff members can actually maintain a supervised and controlled environment. My vet said either staples or stitches so I went with staples because they are a little over $300 versus $900 for stitches. It took me threatening my legal team reaching out to them for them to even refund the cost of a half-day charge when she was there for two hours before I picked her up because of injury. I had to push even more to get them to pay the vet bill eventually. The only reason I had my dog there is because I was hit by an SUV and was physically unable to take my dog to burn energy as she is just over one year old. So now not only am I trying to heal my broken wrist and fractured knee, but I am also tending to the staples on her head and her ribs, antibiotics, pain medication, and anxiety medication. My dog is so playful and sweet, absolutely loves people and absolutely loves other dogs. It's going to absolutely crush me if I see her confidence or friendliness extinguished in any way from this experience. Update in regards to their reply: they have my email address have not sent me any solid explanation as to what happened still. I have so many doctors appointments, phone calls with my lawyer, and I am trying to rest ice and elevate myself and now take care of my dog on top of all that. I don't have the time to sit on the phone with you while you tell me that you don't have an explanation, in different words nine times over. Reply to my email when you figure it out and if you can't figure out what happened, shame on you. You shouldn't be running a dog care business.

When I asked the groomer why it looks so bad she said "I brushed him for 20 mins". I went to thr manager who said this poor level of care was normal for their "full-service" grooms and that shes new, as if that explains everything. I will NEVER bring my dogs back, will NEVER buy from their store again and plan on letting everyone know about this. This is why I should never tip before seeing the end result because SHE should be ashamed and I never would have rewarded her This pic is me running the brush through him twice. She obviously didn't brush him

Last time I called in with my monthly order the person on the phone said "I'm new, I don't know how to do that. You can order it from the website." Which was annoying for one. Then I explained I actually could not order this product online, hence why I called in the special order. The employee stated the manager was in a meeting, but they would call me after to address this. Never got a call back. Called in again the next day and was able to place my order. Of course it's been over 3 weeks and I have not received the product. Last time this happened, it was because they stocked the product on the shelves and forgot to hold a case for me. Sometimes when I order a case of product, they stock it to the floor and only hold ONE of the product I ordered in bulk. I really want to support this business instead of places like Petsmart or Chewy, but my pet requires speciality food for health reasons and this customer service puts my cat's health at risk when I have to supplement different foods bc they can't get their employees on the same page with special orders. Everybody is really nice most of the time, but I'm bringing my business elsewhere.

Every time I have to stop at this store I leave with the most visceral annoyance. Let me start from…read morethe beginning with some context: 1.) My dog has significant digestive issues related to protein. He is required to be on Hydrolyzed Protein as it is easier to break down. This food requires a prescription for reasons unknown to me, and costs $150 per bag. Maplewood is one of few locations that have his food, so I am forced to stop here frequently. 2.) Because his food requires a prescription, I have to have Banfield create a mini prescription card before I can check out with his food. Most recently, I stopped into the store for food and when I went to check out the cashier stated that the prescription card was expired. It had been expired for five months, but apparently that wasn't an issue until right then. So, I get out of the line I had waited in, go to the Banfield counter (wait in line again), get the card replaced for what seems like the 75th time, and after they explained it expires once a year, I looked at the card and realized it actually expires every six months. Fine. I take the card, wait in line again, and the cashier is finally able to check me out. During my checkout (at which point I want nothing more than to exit the store) the cashier randomly starts telling me about how her mom got her two kittens and she is going out of her way to feed them well so that they "never have to eat this food." To me, this implies that I am feeding my dog prescription food because I somehow created this protein deficiency he's had since birth...? All of this to say - a trip that should take five minutes almost always ends up taking twenty. Despite having Banfield inside several PetSmart locations, they haven't incorporated any way for their staff to pull prescriptions. In my opinion, PetSmart isn't and has never been concerned about the customer experience. If you don't have to go to this location or a PetSmart in general, I wouldn't.

This was after one of the ladies told me she didn't want to use her clippers on him. Mind you, he's been going to another PetSmart location since he was 1. I then went to the Banfield hospital inside the store where my dog is a client. I explained everything to the vet there. My Shih Tzu was seen within the hour. Not only did they give him a medical shave, but I also had them give him his two shots that would be needed in the next two months. I also had his heartworm prevention medication done. Everything cost over $1,000. After picking up my pet from Banfield around 4, I walked back inside the grooming department hoping to schedule my Shih Tzu for a later date. The lady then told me no one there felt comfortable grooming my Shih Tzu at a later time. I was told everyone had agreed they didn't want to service him--just a total refusal. I was livid after spending over $1,000 and being told this, especially after I was instructed to have a vet shave his face before returning for grooming. My guess is they are Trump supporters, enforcing the order he signed allowing them to refuse service. By the way, I'm Black, and my husband is a Caucasian Army veteran who served 26 years fighting for this country.
