Visited this place twice. I had to come back and redo the manicure. It's really hard to deal with these places because majority of the technicians don't speak English. So, last week I stopped by the salon to do manicure(dip powder) and I asked for the cuticle removal. The lady( the owner) took me. After one week, the dip was chipping off on the sides. Usually, when dip is applied, they make three layers, but this time it crashes only two. I will not return to this place. read more

Do not go here. I was barely greeted when I first came in, and after the man that was about to do my nails looked at me and didn't even tell me where to sit but just looked at me like I knew where I was suppose to go. He was very rude after I asked him to change the shape of my nails. He did not ask me shape, or size of what I wanted on my nails. And then when I realized he was doing whatever on my nails I asked if he could change it and he asked me if I have ever gotten my nails done before. Umm... that's rude. And he charge me $70 for a French tip. Over all the service was terrible and he didn't even do that great of a job on my nails. They are lumpy all over and I will probably have to get them redone. My advice. If you want to get your nails done good go somewhere else. read more

(05/16/2017) Walk in for a gel polish change, I get seated and a guy comes to do the process to soak them off. Sit and wait for about 15 min, then another guy comes and scrapes them off, he starts painting my nails (taking his time) and the owner started speaking their language and sends him elsewhere and she comes and finishes. First of all, she didn't even paint my whole nail, and second of all when I asked for another coat, she got pissed off and said "are you sure?" well if I wasn't, I wouldn't have asked! She did a horrible job and I should have went to my normal nail salon. I will not be back there at all. read more

This salon is my go to for pedicures! It's low cost & great service! It's not the trendiest, but it's clean has a nice atmosphere & they always seem to get to me pretty quickly no matter how busy they are. I usually get the signature pedicure because it's cheaper & then tip well. I so appreciate their service! They also offer complimentary water, soda and wine for whatever kind of mood your in. Brought my daughter and her two friends in to get nails done for her birthday. Spent over a hundred. And only one of the girls nails fully dried(gel). My daughter got a full set and used regular nail polish and the NEXT morning her nails were still gummy- needless to say they were all smudged and messed up. The other little girl got a regular mani and her polish did the same. This is what happens when nail polish is either applied too thick or is old. Best nail place I have been to here in Tennessee. Very clean they clean the tubs after each client and sanitize all equipment. Very friendly staff. Lots of room for big groups/nail party. You can drink and get a pedicure! The older lady does my eyebrows she is very gentle. This is the only place my fiancé and I go to for pedicures! Will continue to have our repeat business. This is my first time leaving a review but my experience was so bad I want others to know. I had my nails dipped one week ago. 5 of my nails are chipped. I went in today to have them fixed and they refused! They advised me to wait one week and come back and pay to have them all done again! When I told them that was unacceptable they were very rude to me. They offered to put glue on my nails where the dip had chipped. Whaaat? Then they tried to tell me nails grow from the tip and that is why they chipped. Hmmm. I happen to know nails grow from the nail Ed by the cuticle and not the tip. Seriously bad service. Will never go again and I advise everyone else to go elsewhere too. I would rather wait 4 weeks to get an appointment with my former nail tech than to give this business any more of my money. read more

I received some gift cards for my birthday and Mother's Day. I called the location just before going and asked them if they accepted this type of gift card. They said they did so I went as a walk-in. I got one of the most expensive pedicures as a treat since I had gift cards. When I went to pay they said they didn't accept my gift cards. That was all that I took with me. After going back and forth explaining I had no other way to pay except my Venmo card which only had a small amount on it. They said they would charge me that amount. I signed the slip for the agreed upon amount. And then two days later I received a notification from Venmo that my account was restricted because Avalon nails changed my charge! I felt like I did my due diligence by calling ahead and confirming they took the form of payment I had. The nail tech had just got done with my toes and I told him let me go to ATM (I'm not a thief, I told him to hold onto my DL, I be right back) he said..ok gosh I don't like being in situations where a company may assume I'm getting away with stealing. They were very rude, I went there 2 times now because they have been doing a decent job on my nails and both times that I was in there they would look at me then talk in their native langue and then laugh after and that is very rude because you know when someone is talking about you. And both times that I went there I said please push my cuticles back they did not. Also, this one guy left for 15 minutes in the middle of doing my nails to go do someone else's when he should have been doing mine because he was right in the middle of it. Also, I paid 50$ for some color i did not want because they gave me the wrong color. I'm not going to say that it was the worst pedicure I've ever had, considering I once let my 4-year-old paint my toe nails. Joking aside, I honestly had a very negative experience at Avalon Nails. I brought my Grandmother to have a relaxing pedicure, and we both experienced a rushed job which resulted in sloppy painting and mine chipped one day later. The staff members were very short with us, made no effort to ask whether or not we were happy with the service we were paying for. They did little to no cuticle work, did not buff or shape my nails, and overall looks terrible. I will never return. read more

I went to get my acrylics a few weeks ago. The guy did a great job but rushed me out so my nails smudged as soon as I walked out to my car. I decided to give them a second chance anyway so I went to get a French. You can clearly see where my fill was done and now for whatever reason it's turning brown. They didn't offer me a drink like they did last time and she obviously wasn't being careful with her work. Will not go again. It's a shame, it's so close to my home. I happened upon this place today while I was killing time before a doctor appointment. I'm SO glad I did! It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's very elegant and clean on the inside. I got the signature pedicure and it was great! It was very relaxing and felt wonderful! It was definitely one of the best pedicures I've gotten in Knoxville. And the prices are extremely reasonable! Pedicures start at just $25 and Manicures start at $12! I've found that at a lot of places in Knoxville you have to choose either a reasonable price or good quality. But here you get BOTH! I have been getting my nails done at Avalon Nails for 5 years now. My mom and I both love it, and have brought many friends to love it as well. The nail techs are so kind and friendly- I usually have Tracy. They are quick- usually about 45-50 minutes for a basic pedicure and gel manicure- but they don't rush. Will not be back. For a few reasons: 1. They do not have the swatches to look at for Gel colors so you have to look at the bottles to try to figure out the color you want which is not easy. 2. They have a very small selection of regular polish, and the lighting is really bad to try to see them. I had to literally get my cell phone out for my flashlight to see the colors. 3. Terrible customer service. When the guy was taking off my color he asked me about what color Gel polish I want. I had not had a chance to look at them yet so I said I know the name of the color and I told him. He immediately said "we don't have that one". It was awkward he responded so soon without even thinking about it so I said "Really? How do you know so quickly?" Then he said "Ummm, I mean, I don't think we have that one". I walked over to the display didn't even have to turn the style... picked it right up! It probably doesn't sound like a big deal as I type it, but it was obvious he was just dismissing me because he didn't want to look for the color. 4. The lady kept asking me if I want a manicure with my Gel polish. I have never been asked this before when I get my nails done they just do the treatment. I don't need a massage and all that but they should at least trim cuticles etc. Apparently this place has a scaled back version where you can just get Gel polish and they do not do nail bed/cuticle treatment? I thought it was strange. I had to literally ask her to please clean out from under one nail that had clay underneath it, and there was one cuticle that needed to be trimmed. It was quite awkward. 5. The whole time I was sitting there all the lady did was keep talking to her friend in their native language. It just seemed a little rude. I know most of them do this but the way these people did it just seemed more rude for some reason. read more

I keep thinking I'll try them again, maybe I've just had random bad luck, but no. I took my 13yr old daughter and cousin here for a birthday treat. All she wanted for her birthday was a special trip to get nails painted. The salon lady spoke little English but we brought a picture of the very simple decal of a black feather she wanted. The lady never smiled at them or talked to them. When she was done my daughter looked at me and whispered " it's just a blob mom?" The decal the lady painted was just a blob, yikes, what to do? I kindly showed her the picture again, one hand she had painted the feather but on the other hand it was just a blob. The lady grabbed my daughters hand rubbed away all the paint and decal. Repainted the finger in a hurry with sloppiness and no decal at all and then said "you go!" We all looked at each other in shock. She then charged me full price for painting and decal.
