My last chiropractor, Dr Phil Wilner, who I was a patient of for more than 10 years and who is a fantastic chiropractor, decided to move his practice to Colorado. That was in 2009. Anyways for a few years I was in limbo, I tried a few chiropractors but didn't find anyone who's adjustments worked for me. At one point I gave up and bought an inversion table. Basically its machine that flips you upside down to stretch and straighten out your back. Unfortunately that only does so much and one day I saw Dr Benedikt on Amazon's local deals and decided to give him a try since it was close to where I work. The initial consultation was pretty standard stuff but the back adjustment was exactly what I was looking for (muscle stim, upper back adjustment, hip and neck). YMMV but I've been a patient of Dr. Benedikt's for a year and a half. I go for a back adjustment every month or two. The only thing I wish is, my previous chiropractor put heated towels or heat pads over the area where he did the muscle stims. Aside from that I've been a happy patient.

He got points for taking me at my word and not getting condescending when I told him that he couldn't adjust me face down on the table because I have a flat upper back and that method simply doesn't work. But he blew it when I told him, after he rushed through an adjustment, that he missed a spot. "No, we got everything. You just need to..." "Could you just trust me on this? You did not get everything." I got back on the table and *crack crack crack* "Told ya you missed a spot." The second dude was nice and friendly enough but when I asked him what I could be doing to prevent or mitigate the pain, he said "Just keep coming in for those adjustments!" Wow. Someone should give that dude better talking points, because that was the worst possible answer he could have given. I have been seeing chiropractors on and off since I was 17yo. In that time I've had some truly amazing practitioners -- the kind that would demonstrate stretches to do to alleviate my pain or give me print outs detailing exercises to strengthen certain muscle groups, etc. Unfortunately, I've also had 3x as many truly mediocre ones, the kind that cared more about making a buck than they did about my pain. I almost forgot the part about how they were charging me more than my standard copay because my insurance didn't cover e-stim so they were charging me instead of, i don't know, not putting me on e-stim...? But whatever. I won't be going back.

This was 6 weeks ago when I was in pain every day and having trouble doing basic functions like sitting & standing for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time. After seeing Dr. Mike for 10 sessions, I am 95% pain-free and have regained the ability to live my everyday life without any issues. What I appreciate so much about seeing Dr. Mike has been his brutal honesty about what the recovery process looks like for herniated discs, his measurements for success & his commitment to helping me improve. If you have herniated a disc in your spine, you know how painful the experience can be. You also know that recovery is difficult and takes time, commitment & a positive attitude. Dr. Mike was able to simplify each of these tasks along the way and keep my recovery progressing every week. He uses a calculated approach that actually measures the success of recovery, which is very encouraging to know and gives each patient a milestone to work towards. If I ever came into the practice feeling a bit down or depressed about my recovery, we would talk through it and after treatment - I not only felt like I was doing better, I KNEW I was doing better. If you're dealing with disc herniations in your spine/neck/wherever, I would highly recommend trying to see Dr. Mike and seeing if he can help you. He will be honest in his assessment & timeline for recovery and will tell you if he thinks he can help or not. THANK YOU Dr. Mike - hopefully I won't have to see you again, but if i do I know I'm in good hands

I have been seeing Siraj Venjara for a little over two months and highly recommend him…read more I started seeing him for chronic pain in my arm that was limiting my daily activities. This pain had come and gone over the years (most likely due to rheumatoid arthritis) and had currently been with me consistently for the last 9 months. I was assured that the specific pain could be completely eliminated and we could then start working more intently on the root cause of the issues.. I was not sure what to expect but felt comfortable at every step of the process. Mr. Venjara is very professional and knowledgeable and has a calming and caring demeanor. He fully engages me in the treatment plan explaining what he is doing and how it works. He checks in regularly during a treatment to see how I am feeling and makes any adjustments necessary. It is amazing to feel improvements every week in so many ways! The most surprising thing I have found is that not only is the pain GONE and has allowed me to resume my former activities but there are many other pleasant "side effects". Mainly, in addition to increased energy and a general sense of greater well-being I have been sleeping with NO problems. This is a huge benefit to me as someone who has had constant issues falling asleep for years. About 2 weeks into treatment I have been able to fall asleep normally EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Had I known the amazing benefits I would feel I would have made an appointment for acupuncture long ago. I am so glad I chose Bonafide Acupuncture and am so grateful to Mr. Venjara for his compassionate and knowledgeable care that has cured my long standing issues in such a short amount of time. As a side note, visiting his office is a pleasure. The staff is friendly and professional. I have never had to wait past my appointment time to be seen. If you need to see more than one practitioner (I was having medical massage at one point - Alec Menge is fantastic, by the way) they always arranged my appointments back-to-back for my convenience. And, in addition to a confirmation email for my appointment upon booking I always get a text reminder two hours prior to my appointment. If you are thinking of making an appointment, do it. Best decision ever!
