I just had my Jeep Cherokee in the shop for several issues. From the moment I walked in, I had a good vibe about the place, the guy I talked to(Graham) was very professional, and knowledgeable, and I booked my vehicle in for the following week. Monday morning, at 0700 I showed up and talked to a different guy (Mike) who was also a pro, he took the time to listen to all my concerns and thoroughly explained how they were going to diagnose and repair my vehicle. Then they gave me a ride home. I received a ph call from Mike, before noon to update me on progress and to further discuss the job(s). I had expected them to need my vehicle for two days (my own estimate). When I got home that evening, there was a message that my jeep was done and I could pick it up until 10 pm that night! I showed up at 8 and although the garage was closed, its possible to pick up your vehicle after hours because they have an attached gasbar/convenience store. I received a very detailed statement, that totally explained the work and tests they performed and parts/labour costs for each repair. I am very, very happy with the work that was performed, they are obviously damn good mechanics, very neat, careful, and best of all ... fussy! (yes, its possible to tell by the work performed) I know I sound like I work there lol, but I do not. I just am wayyyy too familiar with how hard it is to find a good, honest, and talented shop. I do some work on our vehicles, but seem to have less and less time and patience, so I started the search for the above mentioned, near-mythical shop, I quickly decided on taking my 1995, much loved Jeep to the jeep dealer, but I noticed a very distinct lack of interest in working on an old vehicle, I lucked out when I found Avalon!! and I will be taking all of our vehicles to them from now on ... including the newer ones. By the way ... I even brought my own parts for my Jeep, no problem at all for these guys! if I happen to have the parts I need I like to use them, most shops dont like this, but Avalon was totally cool about it (parts were brand new). I notice that they are adding on to the shop, so word must be getting out! If you are looking for a mechanic GO TO THESES GUYS, they are great.
