My husband was operated on by Dr Mcarty yesterday. The Dr is nice and personable and on time which…read morewas a big plus. My bad rating is due to the fact that we had to be there 1 1/2 hours early for surgery which was absolutely ridiculous. But mostly because the office has NO on-call or even answering service! Last night he was experiencing extreme numbness and we tried to call. We got a recording from LAST summer saying the office was closed for 4th of July and to call back when they were open. We called Avala where the surgery took place and got no help there either. They said if it worsened to take him to an ER. He's had dozens of surgeries and never once were we not able to contact someone afterwards if needed. We've also never had a surgery where someone didn't call to see how he was doing that evening or at least the next morning. Apparently once they operate on you, you're on your own. After his follow up appointment, we will definitely find another orthopedic practice if we ever need one.
