It's just gorgeous, take my word. The only negative is that it must have been ages since anyone had used the jets in the tub - because the first night they kicked out a bunch of black goo :( And, there is a drain in the tub getting a bit worse for wear. But, it fits two large people and was very comfy :) One great thing about the stone floors is they are slip-proof. The main room is also lovely, very spacious, with two comfy armchairs for relaxing in and a comfortable king sized bed. I loved the colors and textures on the walls and floor. My only minor quibble here is that the upholstery and bedspread were looking a bit worn -- I know this is a 'period' cabin so I like the antique wood and brass furniture -- but when it comes to fabrics...I like them newer. Call me spoiled. That said, this place was lovely and we very much enjoyed the peace, quiet, privacy. The only reason I'm not rounding up to five stars is expectations others would have from a "five star" residence which is a bit more 'luxury' than 'antique' - though this was an experience I would not have traded away for a five star modern suite somewhere. Oh yeah - they have wifi included. Sometimes it was a little weak, but it mostly worked and got the job done (since some of us can't ever be 100% disconnected from our jobs, boo!) I liked that our cabin did not have a television, though some people might have an issue with that... but with a two person hot tub I would hope you could find something better to do!

Crazy chandelier made out of antlers. Barbed wire as tasteful decoration on the ceiling. Bathroom is bigger than many living rooms. Huge jacuzzi in it that we loved. Outdoor courtyard could fit 50 people, or, in our case, 2. We had drinks there in the evening and coffee in the morning. There's a lovely hammock. It's walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and music venues. The only thing that was a little odd, but sort of quaint at the same time was the fact that when the wind blows in the fall, and the pecans fall on the roof, it's very loud because it's a tin roof. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. (Note: when searching for a b and b in Frederickburg, be aware that there are over 300 to choose from and many of them have heart-shaped hot tubs and super tacky pink quilts on teh beds. This is much more tasteful than the ones we saw after an hour of research. Also, many of them require two-night stays and this one allows a one-night stay both during the week and on the weekend.)

Do not book through their website or another like hotels.com without first calling the hotel's phone number at (830) 997-3330 and confirming with someone they are back open and accepting reservations! What an awful experience it would be to arrive and find you have no place to stay! As I said, we have lovely memories of coming here. My husband and I first visited in the summer of 2002 and last visited in the winter of 2010. We stayed there a few times and our families stayed there once while we were planning our wedding in the area. It's an extremely reasonable price, just on the outskirts of town so you can avoid a lot of tourist traffic and still get around, clean, quaint and best of all, they are pet friendly! It's the best way to keep cost of a visit to the area down, while still staying in a safe and clean area. However, I have to dock a star (would've been 2 but I decided on 1 in case it was out of managements control due to health issues) because of the poor communication that is affecting others. We were in Fredericksburg for our anniversary at the end of August 2020. We were driving around, nostalgically stopping at places we used to visit and pulled in here. The place reflects they've been closed for months, especially with the covered pool and the gazebo that needs a power washing. It was sad to see, but not as sad as going to google to find out if it was a permanent or temporary closure and finding that there were several reviews of people booking rooms and showing up to a closed location! Unacceptable! Your website should reflect the closure on the first page and hopefully an ETA for reopening, but at least a message about the closure- those poor would be guests! I genuinely hope they reopen again in the future and if they do, they are worth a visit because Fredericksburg has continued to increase prices at all other accommodations, including RV parks, restaurants and shops and this is really the best way to reduce the cost of your trip.

From the moment that you enter the gate at the end of the drive way you see the beauty of the area and feel the serenity . Tim and Rose are both extremely friendly people who truly love their life and the place they call home. Each of them takes pride in the responsibilities they have and in the business they have created. This is evident from the cozy design and decorating of the barn and adjacent cottages, to the care of their animals and land. The accommodation were amazing ; clean, comfortable and included everything we needed. In fact , we are planning another stay in just a few weeks. I can not write this review without mentioning the amazing breakfast baked by Rose!! Everything was delicious! There are a plethora of things to do in the area. Tim and Rose do a great job of answering questions and providing information about local wineries, restaurants and other interesting things to do. Thank you Tim and Rose!

Even the floor mats at the front and back entrance are white? Very questionable color for furniture and place where people wipe their shoes. We were excited to use fire pit but before arrival received a text of a burn ban. The fire pit was one of the reasons we booked the stay but those plans were quickly killed. The property was not dog friendly. Our dog could not run around the land. Within minutes of arrival and the whole stay we were stuck spending time removing small round thorns from his fur and paws. We couldn't spend much time outside for this reason only on a dirt road with rain puddles was without those painful thorns forcing us to spend more time cleaning the dog then we hoped for. My husband and I were even bleeding from removing the thorns. If you're bringing your dog this is a NO GO and not worth the cost. The place is cozy and nice overall but our dog was imprisoned in the bathroom on rainy weekend. Def not worth the cost per night with lack of fire pit amenity or dog friendly land.

Comfortable beds, beautiful location and the fridge was stocked with fresh milk, eggs and pastries for breakfast. The location is a quick drive into Main Street in Fredericksburg. But staying outside the city provided a great, quiet break from busy city life. There are great animals on the property too, including chickens, turkeys, horses, rabbits, a bull, a llama and two very friendly dogs. Kids will love how friendly the animals are, and so close to the house! Overall we had a wonderful weekend staying here. Don't let the website scare you away (I was very hesitant after viewing the photos) this is a great weekend getaway.

Even though you share the courtyard area you have your own private hot tub and the other unit also has one. The bed was very comfy and the shower had a massager head that made the water massage your back when showering. My husband loves that part. Hostess is very accommodating and gracious. Bed is very comfortable, but it's rather tall for shorter folks and could use a step stool you could pull out for greater ease in climbing in bed :) Now, for issues that would make it not a 'return trip' for us: First Issue: When we rent a home,that includes a living room, kitchen & dining, we expect this home to offer 'complete' privacy. It was advertised as having a 'private courtyard', but not made obvious that there were two rental residents within the home that would share the same private courtyard area to include the hot tub . Yes, there was a wooden privacy fence around it, but having someone else within that privacy fence cancelled the 'private' part from my perspective. Fortunately, no other resident showed up during our visit, but the anticipation that someone else could pop in or we come home and find other people in the hot tub, made it uncomfortable for us. You would either have your privacy intruded upon, or you would feel you would be intruding on their privacy. Second issue that didn't appeal to us was the uncomfortable furniture where tv viewing was located. I understand that the hostess/owner wanted a certain furniture style, and it was charming, but so very uncomfortable for watching evening tv... Last issue that wouldn't have been a 'deal breaker' if the privacy issue and furniture issue wasn't there, and that would be there is NO wi-fi and NO dvd player. Yes, they have tons of channels to watch as we were reminded of when asking about a dvd player, but we had brought some awesome new movies we were looking forward to watching while vacationing and were unable to do so :( My issues may not necessarily be an issue for anyone else, but we were the ones paying the bill, so I like to get what I'm thinking that I'm paying for...that's all.
