Horrible customer service. Called got a price out the door for 39.99. Sent husband and he charged him 69.99! I called to ask why. Worst customer service EVER! My husband went there yesterday morning to get a smog cert. apparently their systems were down, so he said come back tomorrow and I'll give you a discount. Which really isn't a discount when they offer a coupon on the website. That's besides the point. Husband goes back this morning, is checking out and the guy goes $80. No, I was here yesterday, and you said you would give me a "discount" for $40. Response "you have to tell me before it's in the system." Excuse me? Do what you need to do, and change the price. He would not. Ok, we'll I have a coupon then. It's already in the computer, I can't change it. That is the biggest line of crap I've ever heard. AV Smog Station is fantastic!! We called ahead to see how long the wait was and the guy said to bring it in, there was no wait and he could do it for us in 15 mins. We got there and A.J. was amazing! He did it in less than 10!!! And he recommended the coupon that they were offering online, and saved us money! I definitely recommend this place if you need a smog. read more

This is the best place for a smog the man at the counter was very knowledgeable and honored the discount from the website it said 29.95 for smog but for SUV or truck 10$ more (I have a truck) so it came to 39.95$ plus the 8$ charge for the certification to show the DMV so it came out to be less then 50$ for my smog and certification the is pretty darn good deal and was in and out in 20 minutes! Make sure you bring registration with you as well read more

Great! The guys gave me a great deal and had me in and out of there within 45 minutes. The waiting area was clean and had A/C so I wasn't waiting in the heat. They do take card but I think it's an older system (it took a minute to process)so I would recommend bringing cash! Overall I think this place is fantastic, will be returning! read more

This is AFTER it was already done they told him this so they threatened to call the sheriff if we decided to go somewhere else because they now charged us $80!!! These people do not tell the truth, they lied to me. On 8/8/2020, I went in for a smog check to renew car's registration. Unknown, at the time to me, the computer in my car had been reset (the car's battery was replaced just prior to the smog check and that cleared out the computer) and would not pass a smog check until it was driven for a period of time, which turned out to be about 800 miles. When the mechanic did my smog check, he told me of the problem and said, "Drive a few miles and come back tomorrow and we will retest your car for free." As it turned out, I when I checked the car the next day, with a scan tool, the computer had not yet gone through its drive cycle (something I only found out about by doing research). Finally, after about 800 miles of driving, the car's computer had enough driving on it to pass smog. When I went back to AV Smog II I told them that the car had finished its drive cycle and was ready for the retest. The mechanic insisted that he had to use his scan tool to check the computer which he did. Then, he proceeded to tell me that "Connecting and verifying the car could pass smog was the 'free retest," and that I would have to pay a second time for the smog test which totally surprised me. When I told him that he said their would be no charge for the retest, he said that that only meant using the scan tool (which I think is a total lie, a "free retest," is just that, a retest of the smog check, however, since I didn't want to waste any more time arguing with him, or looking for another more honest smog test location, I had him "retest my car," and paid him. The bottom line is that I will never go back to this man or his company and recommend that others find another place to go for smog checks. read more

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. This center is full of nothing but con men! I usually get my smogs done in Palmdale, but I recently moved to Lancaster and I THOUGHT this place was going to be cool cause it was close to my home. Never will I choose convenience over honesty and reliability. For starters, I noticed that I was charged more than someone else. Next, they told me my car failed the smog due to a gas leak in the fuel tank and that the cat converter was on backwards as well. Then they said to fix those issues and bring the car back and they would re-smog for half off. Then they gave me a number to someone who could fix the "gas leak." Yeah like I'm going to trust anyone you recommend. So I take the car to my mechanic and guess what, there is no leak and the cat converter is not on backwards. My car sat at my mechanics shop, was not serviced, and passed the smog with no issues. My mechanic also told me that when a car fails a smog, you are not supposed to be charged anything when you take it back after the repairs are made. So eff this place, they are fraudulent. I don't know if they were trying to take advantage because I am a female, whatever the reason, I can guarantee I will NEVER go back. Be aware! read more

Very unhappy with my service. Charged full price twice when my car didn't pass smog inspection right away. It passed after an hour but they still charged me full price twice. My car has experienced this twice before in years past and other smog stations never charged me twice. Total rip off. I do not recommend this place. read more

Just finished a smog inspection. I feel that I wasn't informed that I'd automatically fail a smog test if the "check engine light" was still on. Better business would be to inform the customer before they take your money that you'll fail the test automatically. They took the money first and then told me (with the check engine light on the whole time). I was told it's not their business to tell me that it would fail, but I think an honest person would tell you up front. The guy was nice during the smog check, but when I called to complain it was a while different attitude. I would have give four starts even wth him not telling me about the check engine, but he basically gave me a "I don't care about your business" attitude. Better business would have been, "hey, I'm sorry I didn't inform you about the check engine light automatically failing, but if you come back to recertify, I'll waive the second smog check fee. Good luck if you go in here, like I said, I was initially satisfied, but when I called back to ask about why I wasn't informed a check engine would automatically fail, I was given poor service response. read more
