I was greeted promptly when I entered and ushered back to a massage chair to have a seat while I chose my polish color. They offer several levels of pedicure from basic to luxury. The salon is clean and well lit and I was glad to see that when a sweet little senior citizen entered and was warmly greeted by the staff who asked her where she'd been lately. Recently I went in to AV nails to treat myself to a gel manicure. I understand it was John who assisted me. He insisted on having a political conversation with me and continued to even when I asked him to stop. I was in a position with 1/2 my nails finished that I needed to stick it out, hoping he would stop. He wasn't really interested in a conversation anyway, he just wanted to express his point of view. I consider getting my nails done as a treat and giving myself some time away from what's going on in the world right now. I have gone here twice in the last month with a great experience both times. I am very impressed with Tron. The first time I went to him, I showed him a picture of Christmas nails, and he made it happen(his job was much better than the picture!). The second time, they didn't have the exact color I wanted, so he mixed a few things and made it happen. I will definitely be back to Tron! Sam checked in often to be sure he was doing a good job, and Tron made me laugh the whole time. It was a great experience for both my mom and I. I had a 5p appointment in which I put my information in for a dip. I say down the nail tech started my nails then someone came in and she asked what she need it. She stop doing my nails and took the walk-in customer never telling me if she was coming back to me or if someone else was going to finish my nails. I started taking the foil off my fingers put my coat and and one of the workers said anything to me as I left with my nails not done. I don't know if this was a race issue or just plan unprofessional but I will never go there again read more

This was my first time at this salon. I was very disappointed in the service I received. The only thing correct is the color and style I asked for. The tech seemed in a hurry... she cut 5 of my cuticles and the tip of my ring finger and replied "sorry". She asked me "round or square". I told her "round" she made my nails VERY square. There is thick dip powder under my thumbs, although some has come off 1 thumb from washing my hands frequently trying to prevent an infection from the cuts. The website shows $40 for dip nails, I was charged $45. Although the staff was nice and this salon is close to my home, I will not have a return visit here. read more

This is the first time i've ever cried from a nail salon. The man told me it costs extra to do my cuticles, even though i've never been charged for that anywhere else. He cut my pinky finger, and i asked him 4 times to get the blood out from under my nail, and he let it dry there before putting a drop of something on it that made it burn very badly. He could not file my nails evenly, and they were very cooked so another lady had to come over and do it for him when I was not happy with it. The polish has flakes in it, and looks very uneven. Horrible service! I sat in the Pedi chair for over an hour with my feet in cold water. I asked numerous times for the water to be warmer, I was ignored. Three ppl came in after me and were immediately taken care of. When I asked why was I being overlooked, I was told I can wait. I declined services. The rude worker let water out splashing it on me. Didn't even apologize. I moved to the sitting area so my friend could finish. I was asked rudely 3 times " do you want your feet done or no?" I respond no I don't want any service. Zero Stars for this place so my husband goes in to get a pedicure and sat so long his water got cold for over 30 min . So he didn't have a problem because the two ladies where clearly busy doing other people. But what he did have a problem with was when two other walk ins came in and where serviced after he has sat there for over 30 min. Never mind that he is a black male and the walk-ins where two Caucasian women but hey it is what it is . He asked for a towel and then he left . No one said a word . I'm curious if people are going to same AV nails in Dardiene Prarie as I do. I have been going here for 13 years and that should say something. I have gone to every nail technician and have walked out completely satisfied EVERY time. I request Tina most of the time because she is an artist when it comes to designs and I like my nails festive for the holidays. Sam is usually the gentleman who greets you when you walk in or answers the phone. It bothers me to hear negative comments about an amazing business. They treat every customer who comes in respectfully, graciously, and they want you to feel beautiful when you walk out, which I always do. I went to AV because I was in a rush and the closest threading shop is really far away. I asked for the price of waxing the upper lip and was told $7. My wait wasn't very long. When I was taken to the waxing area I asked if I could have my chin waxed as well. She looked at my chin then said the total price would be $20. I thought it was a little odd for the chin to be almost double the upper lip but I was in a rush. The experience itself wasn't terrible but I didn't see her wear gloves before touching my lips which I thought was a bit unsanitary. Whatever she used to clean the excess wax did not work and I had little cotton pieces left on my face which was also still sticky. I'll stick to threading from now on. read more

I went for the first time today. The people were rude especially the man at the seat by the door. The nail girl said she could do ombré and marble nails. When I showed her a picture of a simple nail design she brought other people to the desk and they said we don't have the colors. (Pink) I asked you don't have anything similar to this color and they said no. I can only give you regular polish. Well then how can you do ombré with only regular polish. I told her to just polish my nails because obviously she did not want to do the style. It was not like I wasn't paying. So she did a simple gel polish. I had to tell her to get the corner of my nails and shape them better. It's was like she just wanted to get down. The finish product was ok, but I had to go through too much for this simple look. I went in for a gel manicure...she spent about a total of 15 minutes doing it. The paint job looked like a toddler painted my nails. No massage, no buffing and while trimming my cuticles she cut me. Paid and went somewhere else to have them redone...I will never go there again! read more

This place has a great vibe. They did great with my nails and some people where nice. They don't have a good way to deal with how you pay. But super organized. It's took me 30 minutes to get gel nails. Including wait because I had an appointment and I didn't have to wait. I went into this salon today at the last minute to get a pedicure. The actual pedicure came out nice, no problems there. But my issue is with the dude who did it. I had brought in my own polish and he insisted I try a gel nail polish which was simillar in color and even after I told him no, he wouldn't shut up about so I gave in. During the actual pedicure he kept staring at my feet and legs and pointing out all my flaws. (His other male co-worker was doing the same to the lady next to me, actual pointed outa scar on her FACE) Listen, I know I am not perfect but I don't need a nail boy point out every scar to my in a croweded salon. I wanted to kick him. Now back to that polish, so he puts it on and everything is fine, my acutual pedi cost $40. So I was SHOCKED when he told me my total was $53. What he FAILED to mention is that stupid polish he pressured me into getting was an additional $13 EXTRA!!!!! He must think money grows on trees. I found it exremely UNPROFESSIONAL he failed to simply say "try this polish BUT it wll be an extra $13". I was so disgusted as I left. Sometimes these people pull these little tricks on purpose b/c they play dumb and know a lot of people won't put up an arguement in a crowded salon. This place has a wide variety of colors to choose from which I really liked. However, the pedicure is a huge waste of money. I went with the basic pedicure which was $25. The guy that did mine did absolutely nothing to the sides of my feet and heels. Other places I've been to will use a pumice stone to smooth the skin and remove dry skin, but this place didn't do that at all. Basically, my feet sat in the warm water for a few minutes, then they painted my toes and I was finished. I'll stick with French Nails in O'Fallon going forward. read more

I go here all the time for my pink and white acrylics. I always ask for Sunny and she is great. I can't say that she's the best one there because I've only had my nails done by her but she's fabulous. The place itself is very clean and they get you in fast. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes and the time I did have to wait it's because Sunny was still with a customer and I was willing to wait. It's a very relaxed environment and the people are friendly. They don't talk your ear off, which I appreciate. I would highly recommend this place. read more

The technician (whose name I've forgotten) was thorough and helped guide me to a color more suited for springtime. I have been here many times before deciding to give up and write this review. This place is awful, both their customer service and their nail services are awful. 9 out of the 10 times I am in there both my pedicures and Manis are bad. I just went in today for a pedicure and the guy doing it basically did nothing to my feet. They are still rough and dry on the sides. My daughters manicure looks like a five-year-old painted them. I've been here quite a few times and they have been ok. It's convenient and I don't ever have a wait. I used to get artificial tips and decided to remove them about 6 months ago and switch to gel manicures. Went earlier this week for my second one here and the technician filed my nails, entire nail, not just tips, so thin that they feel like paper. They bend and tear and today I had to clip them all and begin again, hoping my nails grow out stronger.
