We visited town recently and this place was by far our most frequent stop in. Of course, the price are Greenwich. The staff was very helpful and efficient. We enjoyed being able to get prepared meals for our AirBnB. There's an upstairs seating area but we didn't try it. read more

The food is decent but expensive. The star is the ginger tea. The customer experience is subpar. You can't get anybody's attention behind the counter. You have to fight other patrons for any support to pay, order or ask a question of the staff. I don't blame them though... I wonder if they're truly set up for success. The space is small and disorganized. Just not worth it. read more

If you find yourself in Greenwich, and want to pay NYC prices for fresh food, stop by Debra Ponzek's cafe. This location may be her first. I've always liked their hazelnut coffee, and today met my standard. The White Meat Green Goddess chicken salad offered small pieces of chicken in a dressing that surprised you with bits of tarragon and watercress. I didn't closely read the label of the chickpea side salad and was pleasantly surprised by the Roquefort cheese. It provided a tang to an otherwise "to be expected" side. The portions are small, yet together the two made a perfect meal. Most everything is self service and the empty hazelnut carafe was quickly replaced. The staff had few smiles to share, and maybe the gray day was the reason. Given that it's Greenwich, the staff may have been tired by an exhausting clientele. Sitting outside to eat and read is lovely, and there are tables with umbrellas that can handle quite a few for lunch. read more

Solid deli bakery etc with great food to go. Prices aren't even bad considering the Fairfield location. And never a line when I went. Really great place for stuff to eat on the run and lovely food items. read more

I love Aux Delices. I am a frequent guest at the Downtown Greenwich location and rarely stop by into the Riverside location. I was in Riverside over the weekend with a friend and had the delicious chicken tortilla soup. It was so flavorful! I was surprised it was as rich as it was. I also love all of their salads, baked goods and the iced tea. read more

Beware getting anything that's been premade or sitting out in the glass displays. I've gotten sick here right after eating their food when it was in those little glass windows. If it's made fresh or prepped by the kitchen, I usually fair better. They've also forgotten on more than one occasion what specific requests I made for my sandwich, so that's a little upsetting. So, A-Ok if I get something that the kitchen cooks. Not so much if it's been sitting behind the refrigerated display glasses. Their service also leaves much to be desired. Sometimes they'll group my meal in with some stranger's and make me pay for theirs, or they'll just leave me to my own devices for 5-10 minutes when it's not even busy. read more

Aux Delices - Specialty Food Near Me - Riverside, Connecticut

This has always been one of my favorite lunch spots. I have been going here for over 10 years. My favorite sandwich is their #1 which is an avocado sandwich. Their ingredients are always super fresh. The staff is also always so kind!! read more

I love Aux Delices on Elm St - the service is great, sadly the same can't be same for this location in Riverside. There is one gentleman who works the counter here and I've now had two bad experiences with him. He doesn't make the salad samplers correctly- the container was barely filled with a tasting of each salad but I only noticed once I had left. Today, I was standing at the counter of prepAred foods behind the only other customer in the store at the time who was ordering- a line formed while I waited and the gentles insisted I go to the other part of the store to the back of the line. I tried to explain my position and he was downright rude. Even when the next customer said "she was here when I arrived". Over it. Bad service twice is not a good look. read more

I recently went to the pasta making class at Aux Délices - it was so much fun! I like to consider myself good in the kitchen but my pasta making skills are just mediocre, the chef made it entertaining and made sure we all were hands on. I even tried to make the gnocchi at home and it was probably the best I've ever had in any restaurant! Will definitely be back again! read more

Food is OK. Staff is absolutely clueless. How do they stay in business? I told them my order about 5 times, they got it wrong on all the order items and the staff says, "you ordered wrong". Can we have some training please Debra Ponzek? Your service has been absolutely awful for some time. Update: 4/24/2017 no feedback from the AD ... read back high rating comments. I think they pay people to write good comment. Lot's of generic praises. If you subtract paid commentators, rating is a 2. Following is the message I sent to the store through Yelp that is unanswered. ----- Your service is really really awful... I suspect you don't even care about what customers say, and this the result. Please prove me wrong. ---- read more

Convenience in proximity and parking, that's about it. Organized, friendly and efficient service = None. Well prepared, delicious food at a reasonable price = None. I think about 10+ years ago they were closer to doing it right in meaning and what "aux delice" stood for. read more

Had 1/4 lb. of salmon salad, 2 cookies, and a roll. Came to about $6.50. Fine price in my mind! The salmon salad was delicous and not skimpy on the salmon and veggies. The cookies tasty and the roll carby. This will be a frequent lunch spot for me and I recommend it for lunch to anyone in the area. Can't wait to try more! read more

Great service and good coffee. Aside from all the food they prepare, they have fun little treats and snacks, like caramels made in VT.

I live a mile away, come here all the time... I always thought they could make it into a full restaurant and make a killing, but for delicious food on the go, with amazing breakfast and lunch items and probably the best coffee in town, Def have to give 5 stars! Also, their loyalty (card) program always seems to get me something free. If you go often, get a card! read more

A neighborhood institution. Excellent quality, fresh ingredients, and prompt, friendly service. On the more expensive side as lunch options go, but definitely worth it. read more

Aux Delices is always filled with professional staff who are always very respectful and helpful. It is hard to come across great service when it comes to food places. It is good to see people get along because it makes the experience more pleasurable and attracts more customers. The food is always well prepared, healthy and delicious. Yes it is a bit pricey but you pay for what you get. Enjoy! read more

The counter staff may honestly be the worst and consistently Rudest service I have experienced in North America! To make matters more amusing,I'm not sure the owners know how incredulously rude the counter folk are, because they have now added extra tall food containers So that one can not even see them as they yell up at you insisting you order, etc! It reminds me of the nazi restaurant in LA Stories! The food by contrast is tasty and healthy. However there are So many other places with decent service the I've actually stopped Going there because its just not worth my time putting up with the rude staff all the time! read more

Having visited Aux Delices regularly for at least 7 years, the number of lack lustre reviews is rather surprising. Perhaps it has to do with the volume of business and that less favorable reviews are more likely to get written than favorable. Does the food send my taste buds dancing? Some does. Much does not. But what brings me back here year after year is the consistency and dependability. First, I love their coffee (not a Starbucks fan). And the food is all good. Some things are great. But I have never had anything bad or stall or soggy here. Often, I am having a late lunch, and even the pre-made sandwiches are good. Their turkey meatloaf is the best in town, to my taste. I have also attended functions catered by Aux Delices. Now most of that food DOES get my taste buds dancing! (Which has left me wondering why more stuff in the Cafe is not fantastic, but who knows?) read more

The coffee is excellent, but it irks me they don't do refills. The food is delicious but sandwiches are dry, you need to ask for extra sauce. And the prices are double what I would expect to pay. read more

Recently went for lunch with my client who highly recommended it! We both had the 4 salad plate and I loved the fresh, creative salads! Very crowded space at lunch time, and a little confusing when you're there trying to find where to order, how to order, etc. But with a little patience you'll figure it out and enjoy. read more

Aux Delices is a great charming place to grab a quick sandwich or salad.

Have been to Riverside, Greenwich, and Darien locations. They are always clean, and staff is friendly and happy to make you a "custom" order (I usually make my own panini). Some of the pre-made/hot food items have been really good and others (like the chicken and potatoes) tasted average, which was a little disappointing for the price. Everything looks fresh though and there truly is something for everyone. And baked goods are too tempting to resist. read more

This spot is a weekly must have on the way to work. Excellent selection of coffee, breakfast and grab&go lunch options. Parking is a breeze and it's truly a "quick stop" without the "fast food". Food is always on point! read more

Although I have been coming here for years every time I'm in Connecticut, I wonder if I'll be back to this location after today. the counter staff was so rude that I almost turned around and left but my sister and I were both hungry so we decided to order sandwiches. When we inquired about the ingredients in one of the sandwiches, the counter girl said "it's right there on the menu just read it". then we ordered our sandwiches but my sister's came out missing two of the ingredients that she had asked for. When she asked them to please put it on the girl said "well you have to pay for it" to which my sister said "no problem I'll pay for it, but I had requested on my sandwich to begin with, and by the way the girl who took my order was extremely rude". That girl -Nancy- who was going to fix this error said "well I'll teach her so just don't worry about it", also in a rather snippy way. That is just no way to treat a paying customer and especially for the prices that they charge -for good food but it's really not worth the price with the abuse that you get from the counter staff. This is the first time I have not left a tip in a restaurant in a very long time. The man at the counter also remarked "we're all having a bad day". I've been in the service industry long enough to know that no matter how bad your day is you never EVER take it out on your customer. read more

This place has the best cold brew coffee in town and the staff is amazing. The place is almost always busy and the entire staff knows what they're doing. It's actually quite remarkable how they are able to serve everyone so promptly and in such a pleasant manner. read more

Moved to the area a year ago and finally came to Aux Delices about two months ago and love it! Great variety of foods and desserts. I also had a lunch catered- we did a quiche Lorraine and 4 smaller appetizers. Everything was delicious and we had plenty leftover quiche- they are large! read more

Not only do they make spectacular wedding like birthday cakes, their premade food is top notch! We have had a few informal parties where we served their bake ziti, Mac and cheese, and etc... i was wholly unimpressed with them. i went because of a recommendation from an acquaintance... they wouldn't make up a sandwich fresh for me, and got me a soggy one out of the case, and my dining companion had to have a re-heated plastic-wrapped quesadilla. also, the service was not so great. pretty standard fare, but at greenwich prices. pass it right by and go to balducci's instead. read more

I really don't see the appeal. This is a chain that sells sub-Whole Foods quality takeout at prices that would make Cipriani blush. The prices are an insult, and the food is so-so. This area really needs an Eatzi's - a place that actually serves good prepared food, and isn't so ridiculously expensive. Plus, the name is cliche and a failed attempt at pretension. Really weak overall. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I asked for more hot water for my cup of tea and was told it would cost 50 cents!!!! Can you believe it. I ordered my Thanksgiving dinner from them but will NEVER go back there again. read more

The food here is fresh and consistent. Some dishes are good to great, others are just mediocre. They have a great selection overall, and the salads are all worthwhile. Many of the assorted salads behind the display seem carb-heavy, like cous cous and quinoa, and don't suit my current regiment. A few more vegetable choices would be appealing. The salmon with pepper chutney would have been very good, had the fish not tasted mildly freezer burnt. The brussel sprout and apple salad is excellent, as is the tuna salad, but the overload of capers adds too much salt. The coffee is excellent, and the seating is sufficient despite the consistent lunch crowd bustle. They have additional seating upstairs, adjacent to a gallery, and outdoor seating in the warmer months. The prices at Aux Delices can be steep depending on what you order, but food is fresh and selection abundant. Like the other reviewer, I was tempted by the $7 cube of fudge they display at the register. I declined after hearing the price. The only glaring problem here is the service. The folks behind the counter are quite rude and rush you to order. They are not helpful in explaining the dishes, and will ignore you if you do not push your way past the 10 other patrons waiting to order. read more

went twice, first time on the run, second time I realized it wasn't good at all (bland cold bread, no sauce in the sandwich, overpriced for what you get). OK I'm French and I know the good baguette sandwiches, even my daugthers didn't want to eat theirs. I tried to buy a pastry during the holidays, arrived before closing time but they had decided that they wanted to close earlier so I never tried any. Well, I had to bake it myself thank goodness. read more
