Found this hidden gem on our way back from a hike. What a great find. thanks Yelpers! It still has all that old school NE charm with rows and rows of apple varieties still available for picking as of yesterday. Highly recommend if you're looking to skip out of that busy commercial apple orchard mess like you see at Honey Pot and other similar places.

This place quaint and a perfect way to spend a fall day. We are from Alabama and was in Boston for some medical appointments. On my bucket list was "picking apples in New England in the fall" this place completely checked that off my list. Definitely worth the short drive from Boston. Plenty of varieties to choose from, reasonably priced and the family that owns it was so nice! Wear comfy shoes cause it can be a lot of walking. I swear you can smell apples before you ever get there.

I've been here a few times now, and each time, without fail, it has rained. Although it discourages some, there is something to be said for being all bundled up with a light fall rain drizzling down and coating the cool apples as you pluck them from the rain drop covered leaves (see picture). sigh. i love fall. although this place is a bit of a drive, i think it is worth it. it is a small orchard high enough on its hill that you can see boston on a clear day. the stand is very simple, which i love. sure there are no hayrides and apple pies and petting zoos, but there are also no toddlers, strollers and sugary temptations. i like kids, but i also like to be able to throw rotten apples at my friends without worrying about who else may be lurking. due to the rain, the times i have been there, we have had the place to ourselves. its a nice serene orchard with no frills and lots of apples. the people behind the counter have always had a smile and the answers to our questions. nestled in a very new englandy town, this is a great place to go you are looking for a commercial free apple pick.

This is Anne of Autumn Hills. If for no other reason than to support this woman of immense strength and courage, come here for your apples.

Exactly what I was looking for, a day out with the kids without all the extra nonsense. Apples were delightful.

I was looking for a quieter orchard tucked away from the crowds (and yes, I realize that such a…read morething at the height of the season is nonexistent) but Carver Hill actually fit the bill. From Boston, it's a scenic drive out to Stow. I couldn't stop gushing over the foliage on the way there - I've turned into a total leaf peeper. Carver Hill is absolutely stunning in the fall, definitely worth a trip. Pleasantly surprised to find the lot half-empty when we arrived on the later side of a Saturday but then it filled up by the time we left around 3. To your right, as soon as you drive in, you'll see an area with pumpkins and the farm store - this is also where you get PYO fruit/veggies if you're paying with credit. If you have cash on hand, you can pay for a bag at the little stand right in front of the orchard. A peck (the smaller bag) was $25. I was a little skeptical at the size but it's a good deal if you really pack your apples in there. From there, the apple orchard. Not the biggest I've been to and the selection was understandably limited. We missed the sign to download the QR code for a map of the orchard and so had to rely on a photo of a thin pole with all the names/colors wrapped around it. Don't forget to stop at the store before you leave. I grabbed some pumpkin pie, jam, and an apple cider donut - they also have apple cider slushies and multiple flavors of ice cream. The donut was THE BEST, made fresh, almost falling apart, thick and generous coating of cinnamon and sugar (also tasted nutmeg and allspice in the coating). Absolutely worth waiting in the line for, but make sure to pay first and get a little yellow receipt/tag from the register before you get in line for the donuts.

Supposedly this is the #1 ranked fall farm by Newsweek last year...I haven't been to any of the other ranked locations or a large number of non-ranked spots so can't validly compare - but from what I experienced I'd say this is top notch. It's definitely goes beyond a regular "pumpkin patch" and has things to see and do or taste for all members of the family. People of all ages find joy in apple picking, fighting the honeybees, playing with goats, and riding in a wagon. Older adults can enjoy photo worthy moments in the sunflower fields too! Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to taste other products from the farm store but I'm sure they're wonderful.

We purchased the tickets and the bag at the little ticket house. In order to enter the orchard, you present your tickets to the employee. The animal farm had goats, sheep and roosters and there is no fee to enter. There are feed machines which accept quarters so you can feed the animals and wash stations to clean up after. In that same area is a large sandbox with some pretty cool toys. In the back are the flowers and pumpkins. No fee to enter either, we got some nice pictures with the pumpkins. Those are priced based on size and there are 4 of them at the entrance with prices so you know how much you will pay for each size. Plenty of parking and handicap parking. It was a nice experience, a tad warm, but otherwise beautiful day and the employees were all friendly. We were there for about an hour. TIP: if you plan to feed the animals, bring a small envelope or cup (like the size of a condiment one) to hold the food pellets. Otherwise you just have to hold them in your hand. The sheep area was loaded with flies, but towards the back barn part (near the sandbox), there were very few flies and a better goat feeding experience. To get 5 stars, it would be nice if: 1) They trimmed the grass in between the orchards at bit. It was really thick and high and very challenging for the toddlers to walk through, especially with so many hidden, dropped apples. 2) There was more than 6-8 pellets per quarter. 3) The store had a bit more selection. They did have honey sticks, donuts (which were just ok), some produce and T shirts. Maybe offer other locally made candy or goods to offer a more fun shopping experience.

Lovely experience Apple picking at Honey Pot Hill Orchards this last week…read more Service was great all around despite over an hour wait for the cider donuts (which were most definitely worth the wait). Apples were extremely tasty with great variety and plenty of ladders for picking. My only fret was that the signage at times was not the most clear. And the best part: the ambiance of it all. Perfect cool day in Mass with all the Fall colors and families having a great time... it was such a positive atmosphere. Would totally go again.

I got a small bag for $12.50 which was a great deal. I had no problem with parking. I got a good amount of apples, although I wish the signs for the types of apples were clearer. The main reason my rating isn't higher is due to the policing near the exit. I've been through security at concert venues that were less scrutinizing. When I was leaving, an employee was near the entrance was inspecting the wagon of a family with multiple bags. I didn't hear the entire conversation but I did hear the employee lecturing them about not overfilling the bags. The employee also said to not reuse the bags (something that could be prevented if they wrote the dates on the bags as other orchards do) and understandably the family said they wouldn't come back. Even though I wasn't the target of the apple police, it created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The best part of my visit was the cider donuts. The farm store was disappointingly small with mainly apples and cider available for purchase. Considering the plethora of options for apple picking in MA, I don't plan to return here.
