This place used to have the best customer service for many years. I don't know what happened, but it has gone down hill. My wife bought a new battery (one of several) and the kid at the counter just said "ok, thanks". He didn't offer to install it, take it to the car or even open the door!!! There were 6 or 7 employees and not one of them offered to help. They were standing around talking about a party they went to. I called and spoke to the manager "Zach" and told him about our recent experience. Instead of listening, he just kept making excuses and cutting me off. Knowledgable, while also humble enough to ask if he doesn't know something and he is extremely good at searching for further information when required. I had brought two car items with me and wanted an answer for how long each is good for. I'm sure my DNA does not include autoshop 101 I take care of my car, change my oil on a regular basis and work with several great repair shops. Okay I've been using your branch for many years and I know mistakes happen but my last three visits have been un unpleasant. First wrong motor mount, then the box was right wrong size brakes. I live of mountain misery just past goaway on stayaway. I spend good money at your store. So when I opened the u joints no clips so I call to find out if the clips were included. Shame on The OLDER GENTLEMEN for being a jerk! My niece who was traveling through Sonora, on her way to spend the next three months working at a camp in the area, had some issues with a tire. As she was nervous and scared from the experience, my husband and I sent her to your store to buy a tire gage to check the air pressure. I was certain that Auto Zone would take care of her since every Auto Zone that we've been to has been of great help. NOPE! At approximately 6:00 p.m. May 22, the jerk who was too lazy to even explain to her how to check the pressure and ripped into her that she needed to purchase a tire gage, SHAME ON YOU! Nice job AutoZone. I needed a part for "sporty" 2004 Mazda MPV Granny-Van - I did my homework online and found that the part has more than one name. i.e. IAC valve (idle-air-control) and also a TV281 BYPASS Valve. After calling other auto-part stores, I found that this was not a common solution and in fact the other guys simply had no idea. I called the Sonora, Ca store - Told them I had a challenge. Bing! - they nailed the part out of their system on the first pass. Nice. This was important due to the fact my wifes car stalls out at speeds between 20-50MPH :(~ 5 Stars this time guys. read more

Unexpected tire fiasco between Yosemite NP and Lake Tahoe. Hellish heat wasn't exactly helping. Luckily this store was not a mirage. Staff got me back on track in no time, taught me how to repair a puncture in the future, even set me up with an air pump after fix o cans were a joke on a g500 tire. All while interrupting/annoying the hell out of them on a busy day -- NICEST guys you'll ever meet!, Seriously, a million times over, THANK YOU!!!!! read more

When it comes to customer service Aaron at Auto Zone just flat out gets it. Our truck broke down on a weekend getaway with my husband and kids and it just so happen to die in the parking lot in front of Auto Zone. Aaron went above and beyond what I would ever expect someone to do to get our truck running. The almost 100 degree heat did not stop him from running in and out of the store trying one thing after another. Did I mention he held the door open for me each time! Is the truck fixed, no but is should hopefully get us back to the Bay Area. Thank you Auto Zone for picking someone who understands what customer service is about to manage the store! read more
