I went into this AutoZone looking for help finding the correct oil and filter for my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 diesel. I asked the associate at the register for assistance, and all I got was a printed receipt no guidance or help. When I asked about the oil he recommended, it was 8 quarts of 0W‑20 for gasoline engines only, which is not safe for my diesel truck. When I pointed out that my truck is a diesel, his response was basically, We don't sell that and "you can put that look say the computer" I was shocked this is a $40,000 vehicle, and proper guidance should be a given. I shouldn't have to navigate the computer, double-check the products! This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Staff should be able to: * Identify the correct parts and fluids for a customer's vehicle * Walk the customer to the correct product * Ensure it is safe to use I will never return to this AutoZone. With the artic blast a few week's ago, my car started once early in the week. The next 2 times I tried to start it, it wouldn't so I knew I had to get the battery checked. Thankfully, we had a charger at home that jump started the battery. Costco actually referred me to AutoZone for the battery check. I called and spoke with David and he confirmed the free battery check. When I got to the store, he was the one to help me as well. My car battery was a little over 3 years old already so it was time for a replacement. The battery tester did say bad battery. David gave me a quote for a new battery but I knew Costco was going to cost less. Thankful for the great professional service. I hadn't realized that AutoZone was close by so took a mental note and will be back if we need anything else. read more

Today, I had a weak battery (25%) and noticed it was a Duralast Gold that had been installed in 2020, so I tried to remember where I ought it since there was a 4year warranty. I only buy batteries from AutoZone or Wal-Mart, since they can be found anywhere, even along the interstate highways. Well, Wal-Mart doesn't carry Duralast so it was easy to deduce my battery came frkm Auto Zone. When I walked into the store I was greeted immediately and helped by the store manager, I believe his name was Alvelino, tried to get a quick glance at his name tag. I explained the situation and he said, "Let's look up your warranty information"...he tried a couple of my phone numbers but they didn't work so he utilized a customet search with my name and zip code and sure enough, my warranty was there! He went to the back and came back quickly with a cart, new battery, and tools. He gloved up and said he was going to change it for me...he did just that, with a quickness and skill of someone in a pit crew. He was kind and caring like an Uncle...I explained that a previous mechanic thought my alternator might be bad too, so he said, "I can check that for you"...within 2 minutes he went back in the store and came back with a multi-meter and tested the alternator and said it was still good. I am so thankful for the kind and professional service provided by Alvelino today that I was inspired to share! Customer service is DEAD at this store. Called from a nearby competitors location because they didn't have the brake pads and rotors I needed in stock. Inquired about a military discount and was met with attitude over the phone. Brushed it off and made the trek over. Upon arrival I realized my encounter over the phone was a small hindsight into the atmosphere. A customer tried to exchange a bad part they purchased and the manager said "I can't help you. Looks used." Waited a long time to be helped and was handed the materials to place on a cart and wheel out myself - without as little as a "Thank you" or "Let me grab the door for you!" Mistakes happen. I understand. So when I received the wrong oil filter, I assumed it was his 1st day or something. But it can't be everybody's first day. As a business when you make a mistake, it's best practice is to fix it. I made it 1/2 through an oil chance to realize I'd been given the wrong oil filter. They just don't care. There are plenty of other auto zones. I suggest you find one. read more

I went to get my battery tested due to it stalling. I took it to AutoZone under the recommendation of a family member who was able to have hers swapped out at a reasonable price. The wait time was a bit long, but that is understandable due to COVID-19. I can understand that stores are shorthanded. Nonetheless, I was appalled by the lack of professionalism of the representative who kept badgering me about where the battery was located before bothering to look up my car on the computer. After doing the battery test, it was determined I had a faulty battery. However, while they could supply the part they could neither swap it out nor provide insight on someone who could. I cant believe I almost dropped $150 dollars plus at Toyota down the road for a turn light signal!! Something made me think of calling this location before going home defeated for the day and I'm glad I did... Noe picked up my call and within minutes I was at the store and was so lucky to find him available and not so much longer after he was able to replace my light and it only cost less than $12!! Two reviews in one--a few months back, my AC was acting up and I stopped in to get a recharge freon pack for my Civic. Mark and I talked for a few minutes about the problem and he then told me he couldn't let me buy the product I was hoping to buy because it sounded like a bigger problem, and he suggested I take it to the dealer. I was very surprised by this because he easily could have taken my money and let me go on my way, but instead, he was honest and it did end up being a bigger problem I wouldn't have been able to fix on my own. Shoutout for integrity! Today I went back to this location to have my battery tested because of how honest Mark was with me the first time. He was there again today, and I mentioned why I chose to come back to this location. Unfortunately I did need a new battery as mine was almost 5 years old. Mark & his colleague, Matthew, were both incredibly kind and took out my old battery and replaced the new one and wished me well! Both men are retired military, so I'm very unsure of a previous review stating attitude as given when asked about a military discount? These gentlemen were polite and honest with me earlier this year, choosing not to scam me for money, and again today helping me get my new battery in place! Came in to get oil for my vehicle because I was dangerously low. Asked Holly if she could check my car to see how much I needed and she had no idea how. Literally so rude, she offered no help. Came in for a battery replacement and was helped by the assistant manager and was given the wrong battery that didn't fit my car and had to come back to return it and couldn't get store credit for the return and offered to order me the correct battery which was out of stock! Wasted my time and now I have to wait 3 business days for my 300 dollars to be refunded and no new battery. So I went to O'Reilly's and the teenager working there had more knowledge for a battery replacement than the assistant manager at autozone!!! I was in and out in less than 10 mins. read more

My battery car died at 7 PM tonight I waited two hours for AAA to send me a driver who apparently was sent the wrong address but was finally able to get my car of those and came to AutoZone off 281 in Encino Rio!! Nonetheless I was a bit stressed but The gentleman here were wonderful they looked up my phone number they saw that I had previously purchased a five-year battery purchase from them and they replaced my battery absolutely for free!!! Customer service sucks. Stood at the counter when I walked in and was not greeted or acknowledged until 10 minutes after my arrival. Told the employee my maintenance light was on and he tossed me the device and told me to "plug it in"?? I obviously had no idea what to do so I asked for more clarification but got nothing and went to the parking lot to figure it out. Came back in and a different employee inspected the results and told me I used the wrong device and faulted me when I was very clear on what was wrong with my car and was given the wrong device. So with my 2011 Mercedes C class, I was facing for a rear brake light and reverse light replacement. Know anyone who knows anything about Mercedes probably knows that they are complicated and have a certain German logic to them similar to those found in swiss watches ! DANNY WAS THE BEST! I can't say it enough but Danny might just be the GOAT, the greatest of all time, at customer service and at solving a particularly annoying problem due to the shape of the bulb . She deserves some kind of prize, a medal, or her own AutoZone , at the least she should definitely get a raise ! Promote such a knowledgeable and valuable asset to your company! Customer service was amazing I really cannot express enough that I am very ignorant when it comes to automotive maintenance, however she made me feel like it wasn't so crazy for me not to know How to do it myself. I mean I could do it, with YouTube and the resources available(we both agreed on YouTube and Google can teach anyone almost anything...Eventually) She took care of the entire thing and it was seriously the best customer service experience i have Had in any sort of retail store, service provider ,or doctors office. There are 1-2 good employees here, but the majority make shopping at this store so frustrating you want to slap the morons that work there. In particular, Tom, the Parts Manager has the rare distinction of excelling in both ignorance and arrogance. I've yet to see that much jackass and stupidity rolled up in one package. Prices/availability of parts are the same as any other Autozone, but due to the horrible service, I refuse to shop here again. Tractor Supply right next door or Napa/O'Reilly's in Sattler are much better choices. read more

Always a good experience at this location. I stopped by once because all my tail lights suddenly went out and they got me new ones and even installed them for me right there. In December 2016 I came into Autozone and they replaced my battery for me in my 2008 Honda CRV. I began to have problems with the car failing to start within a month. I took it back to AutoZone and they tested the battery and said all was well. I continued to have the same problem. Basically my car would not start on a more and more frequent basis. I would jump start my car and it would be fine. The dealer could find nothing wrong with my car when I took it in on 3 occasions. My husband took my car to AutoZone again and they agreed to swap out the battery. This was about May 2016 or later. Fast forward to this November (when the weather got cold) and I started to have the same problems again. I took it to a new mechanic and he found what NO ONE else could see, that AutoZone has put the wrong battery in my car TWICE. It was not the gold version so the cold crank value was too low and it would only not work if the weather was cold. Problem solved with the proper battery yes? NO! AutoZone has some kind of thing in their system showing I returned the battery the same day I bought it in 2016. Seriously? They admitted they put in the wrong battery to me but said I had to buy a new one (after phoning the store manager). Well no way am I going to repurchase a battery after I paid for one a year before and it I was given the wrong one. My credit card receipt shows I paid for the gold battery, the one they never put in, we went back and confirmed the charge. Multiple calls in the past month to the GM to try to resolve this issue and he does not call back. So, buyer beware if you need a new battery, they may just put the wrong one into your car. Also, lesson learned about batteries and cold cranking values. I own 4 vehicles and routinely used AutoZone for car needs, but I cannot trust them and it just makes my blood boil that I was given the wrong product, suffered many days of my car being in a shop for a simple reason and with them not correcting their own error. I have the battery in my garage for a different car now since it won't run my car sufficiently. read more

Went in to get a radiator hose for a 1999 qx4 infinity. The hose needs to be 1 5/8 inside diameter and the one he gave me was 1 5/16 inside diameter and he said to stretch it. Well me being a mechanic for over 22 years thought to myself I have never had to do that in 22 years. So I asked him to let me look at the hoses in the back to find one I could cut and make work. I found one bigger and asked if he had a tape measure so I could measure it he said yes he did, but never produced it so I could use and and started telling me he had more experience than I did and I was wrong. So I bought the hose and left and it was the wrong hose 1 3/4 inside diameter. Too big because he was rude and he would not let me use the tape measure he said he had. I have been so upset over this knuckle head for going on 2 days now. I will never go to autozone again even if I have to drive 100 miles out of the way to go to another store. I hope Autozone goes the way of the dodo bird. Keeping employees like this is just plain stupid. I work with idiots like this and have no idea what the management sees in them. They have no value. Well, Autozone is know for the guys that help in sort of figure the problem and sell the do it your self part, and I have to say they are really good at that, now out of all the stores I have been the employees do try, but this store on 281 and encino BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!, well one thing I notice is they are always super busy and short Staff and that's not fair for them either i always find them moody and not willing to help, but try driving down to Blanco rd and Bitters and that Autozone store is THE BEST!!! read more

if i could give this store 0 stars i would also, i have stopped here three times thinking i would give it another chance each time but now i am fed up. i stopped in the other day to get some type of tool to take off my old license plate from arizona, the bolts that were on their rusted on and i couldnt get them off no matter what i tried. the guy that helped me was the tall skinny gray hairs white guy, he was such a asshole, i was about to tell him to go jump off a cliff, he didnt even look me in the eyes when he was talking to me, he went back inside and got the same tool that i just bought and tried taking it off and i told him " thats the tool i just bought and it didnt work" and he says "ma'am i am just trying, stay calm" i was like wtf really, and then he went back inside and got another tool which i just seemed to be ruining his whole day cuz i was such a bother with the stupid license plate, so he openes up this package to get this little tinny tool ( i knew it wasnt gonna work the whole time) so he trys it and it doesnt work and then he goes "its a safety thing so you are just gonna have to figure something else out" and i said " what else could help take it off" and he said try some visgrips or something and i said do you guys sale those here and he said "no we dont" and walked his happy ass back inside, i was pissed! he couldnt even grab and pair of needle nose plyers and help me! jackass, so i went back home and got some plyers and finally got it off! he was such a jackass he needs to go jump off a cliff. and the first time i went their i was buying that stuff to put in your a/c to make it cold again, and i explained to the guy that i just moved here and i dont have anyone to help me do it and asked if he could show me how, and i thought maybe he was a nice guy and would hook it up and get it going for me but no he walks out to my car and points and the hole it goes it and he says "its goes in there, dont shake it and move it or it wont work" so i said okay, and he went back inside, i stood out their for 15 mins trying to get this things to work! wasnt working, so i finally got back in the car and drove home and did it in the garage so i wasnt sweating to death, oh to my surprise you have to turn it upside down in order to get it to work. i am so pissed off at that auto zone, they dont help you so dont even try! they are all rude all 4 of the people that i have met there at least. i wont be coming back to this store ever! i am going to make a formal complaint to the head of auto zone! get some new employees cuz you guys suck! read more

First time shopping at this particular location - there 3 older gentlemen at the counter, they were busy but as soon as the first associate was free he asked me what he could help me with and was super friendly. I told him I'm pretty sure I need a new battery, he said "ok well let's test it to make sure there's nothing else going on" - I told him I'm sure it's just the battery but he insisted on testing the alternator too. I've never had any autozone offer to test anything with any other cars even though it's a service they're supposed to offer. My terminals were crazy corroded and nasty and the nuts were stuck on, it was kind of a mess, even though I told him I could take it home and replace since it was so nasty he insisted on changing it for me in the parking lot. Again, I've never had this happen at an autozone. It took him a while to get the terminals off Bc of the mess and the whole time it was busy inside, I just kept saying thank you and he kept saying it was no problem he loves to help.
