We had several errands to run and decided at the last minute to stop by AutoZone and get another battery if they had one in stock. We have used this store in the past. The store had a battery in stock. We were glad to hear that. Hubs paid for the battery and a store employee came outside to replace the battery. He told my husband the alternator wasn't working and the new battery was draining as the car was running. We didn't have any lights telling us the old battery was low nor did we have lights to tell us the new battery was low. I suggested we drive home and go to Shottenkirk first thing in the morning. Kudos to AutoZone for having the battery in stock! As for their employee and his tester, we are not sure if the employee doesn't know how to use the machine ir the machine is bad. Shottenkirk checked out the car and said everything works well.

I called the store to see if they had anyone that could come and jump me off and they do not and could not tell me who to call that could. I called back to see if they could tell me what amp to use when charging it on an electric charger. They could not. I was told they only sell batteries, they do not have mechanics and I could take the battery out of the car and bring it to them and they would charge it. After hearing them say how complicated this battery was to install when I purchased it, there is no way I can remove it. After having this experience I realize I should have gone to someone that can service their product and probably should have purchased a less expensive battery that is simple to charge and from a place that is knowledgeable about the products they sell.

I shop at this store routinely to keep my fleet rolling safely. I'm generally satisfied, but simply prefer the store across the street for some subjective reason. Today we ordered brake shoes, to arrive by 3PM. My go-to store couldn't have them until tomorrow. Got them! Sat down to install them--no new hardware included! I do realize that drum brakes are old school, but even in modern times who on earth sells brake shoes without the hardware kit!? Advance Auto Parts does. Nobody in their right mind would put forth the effort to replace brake shoes without replacing the springs. The springs pull the shoes away from the drum when not in use. Kind of a big deal. Their customer service is great, but their offerings are deficient. They don't have the hardware kit available today or tomorrow. Neither does the other stores in this area..unless you buy the shoes with the hardware included. So guess who replaces drum brakes without replacing the springs? It is late, so the answer is this guy...unfortunately. I guess I'm not in my right mind :). Three stars for me because they contributed to putting me in the position. Check the contents closely or you may wind up on jack stands for a few days (or you might be forced to roll the dice, like me).
