Was on a road trip 800+ miles from home when my truck started making noises that had the "awe crap"…read moresound of a water pump giving up the ghost. Stopped for the night and immediately started looking into garages near me. My first choice was the dealer (because, dealer)--who left me on hold way too long. Hung up and called Adept Auto for no other reason than they looked professional on the website and the crew photo reminded me of the garage I use back home. Talked to Service Advisor John Brinkman, related my tale of woe, and asked if he could get me in and back on the road the same day. "We're busy, but yeah, no problem." They took it in right away and diagnosed that it was indeed the water pump. Quoted me a very reasonable price and got to work. A few hours later, John came out with some "bad news" (being from out of town, insert skeptical eye roll here). He said, After installing the new water pump, the sound was still there. Turns out they misdiagnosed the problem, and the real culprit was a bad AC pump. The noise we all heard was actually being caused by the bad AC pump. John reassured me it was on them for the miss diagnosis, and the original quote will be honored. In a nutshell, Adept Auto Repair replaced both the water pump and the AC pump for the original quoted price. Plus, they bent over backwards to get me back on the road the same day. I will always be grateful for the help they gave this traveler. The crew at Adept Auto Repair is professional, courteous, and above all, honest. If I lived closer, they would be my go-to garage for all my vehicles.

We picked up my car several hours ago after having the motor mounts replaced, and I can't say…read moreenough good things about this shop. From start to finish, the experience was smoother than I expected, especially for a repair this significant. Holly was absolutely phenomenal. She kept us informed every step of the way, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made what could have been a very stressful situation feel so much more manageable. George did the actual work on the car and clearly took great care of it. In fact, his thoroughness extended beyond the repair itself. He caught a potentially serious mistake from a recent oil change at another shop, an incorrectly installed O-ring that was causing a Class 3 oil leak. The rest of the office staff were also a pleasure to deal with. Owning a German car means you need a shop you can trust, not just one that says they can do the work. From day one, we felt confident my car was in the right hands. They diagnosed the issue quickly, had a quote ready, and provided documentation to back it up. When my husband wanted to pause on ordering parts so his dad could take a look first, they were completely accommodating, no pushback at all. His dad confirmed the diagnosis within a minute of looking at it. Pricing was in line with what I found online for this repair on my specific car. We are so happy with the results and have likely found our shop for the long haul, regular maintenance included. Holly deserves special recognition. She treated us like people, not just a ticket, and I genuinely felt she was our advocate from start to finish. She is exactly the kind of employee who makes a shop's reputation. George's thoroughness spoke for itself. Even just reading his notes on the invoice and inspection report made it clear we were in knowledgeable hands. They are the reason we will be back.

Our experience at Sides was a good one this last spring! My husband nearly totaled his SUV, and…read morethankfully he wasn't seriously injured! Geico came to our home to do the estimate and I got on the phone to find a body shop that could complete the repairs in a reasonable amount of time. Many folks are repairing their vehicles instead of buying new ones when they are wrecked, and all the body shops are backed up. Seriously backed up! Sides made the most sense to us and within a couple of weeks we had a drop off appointment. The staff are friendly, cordial, honest and thorough. We knew going in there was a shortage of parts for Mazda [our SUV] and I think Subaru. Plus, Geico had to go to the body shop to perform at least 2 supplemental estimates updating the original estimate. This is because additional damage is often found during repairs, for example, the front seat needed replacing. Time was not a critical issue for us, as we bought a replacement vehicle in the interim. Sides took about 8-10 weeks to complete the job, which they told us up front. They quickly updated me at every follow up phone call and they offer a text messaging status service which is not really accurate or dependable. Do call them, they will talk to you and help you on the phone. We were pleased with all the work including the paint job, when we picked the car up and I've enjoyed my "new" [new to me, it is a 2016 model] car ever since. I highly recommend Sides! You can double check me, but I'm pretty sure there are 2 Sides shops in Athens.

I have a 2004 leSabre with right at 106 thousand actual miles on it. A while back Jimmy Smith said I needed some major engine work done. They did the work and my gas mileage went from 400 plus miles per tank to 300 - 275 miles per tank. I carried it back to them and was told I had a gas leak that they repaired and I had to paythem for doing. wonder if it was result of the engine repair work? I must still have the gas leak because my gas mileage has not improved. I have told the service personnel at least three times and they act like they are scared of it. This past Monday I brought the car to them because the front passenger window would not go up. I was told that they had to order the parts, they would call me Tue when the parts came in. They also said the speaker cover was left off and would be put back on when the window was repaired. Tues at about 12:30pm I called and the lady said oh yea the parts are here, I said I'll be right there. I live in Harvest. At about 3:30pm we were told it was ready. We paid $458.58 (parts were $171.17) and left. When we got home i noticed a hole in the speaker cover, it is about one inch square. I want to know if this is the Jimmy Smith standards? Is this the service I would get if I had a new Buick or GMC. My car is almost 20 years old making it close to time for us to get a new car, But do I want to get it at a place with these standards, I don't think so. I know I should have found the hole in the speaker cover before we left there But if you choose to answer my concerns I would love to read or hear it. I have posted this several times and in diffrent places and i have heard Nothing from Jimmy Smith. I am about ready to buy a new car but I doubt it will be a Buick from Jimmy Smith after this experience??? Update as of 15 Aug 2025:  I had a problem with the car. I found a mechanic and he replaced the ignition modules and coils.  This is something the "major" work jimmy smith did should have included.  It runs like a new car now. I am hoping I get the 400+ miles per tank again. Thank the Good Lord...
