If I could give this place 0 stars that's what it would get. The customer service has you on hold for over 30 mins and by the time you get to the store you're still on hold and NOONE is in the store. This place sold me a CORE of an ALTERNATOR for the price of an alternator. The manager thought it was the core but I explained it was, but it was not the alternator. When I called the first time she said there was only one in stock. Before she came to the register she went to the bathroom. Then when I went to go return this junk she said she's "going to check in the back" after telling me there's one in stock... She had to be gone for 15 mins. She finally said there was none and I asked for a refund. She finally gave me the refund and then she went to the bathroom AGAIN! Something is definitely super sus with the people that work there. This store has to be the worst auto parts store I have ever gone to. I purchased brake pads from them and I got what I ordered so I thought. When I got home I opened the box and discovered that the parts inside where swapped out for the lowest grade parts. Funny it was the first time they actually had what I needed in stock. No one wants to turn their car on and see a BLINKING check engine light and drive a shaky car!!!! Especially not when they should be at work! Manuel was awesome!! from answering my questions over the phone to checking out my "check engine" light right away when I arrived. He made a tense and anxiety producing situation....easy and calm. You should go here if you want to wait in line for 45 min+ to pay for an item. You'll get only the worst service from employees who seem to be spending more time stocking than ringing customers up. When you ask for the manager, she won't appear and most certainly won't attempt to diffuse the situation with multiple unhappy customers berating employees who can't prioritize basic retail tasks. This is the 9501 Northern Boulevard store in Queens,NY. Terrible store, the worst by far. Useless sales associate watched a long line form at the register and just kept packing out an end cap while sitting on a chair. When asked if only one person is working the counter, his reply was "yeah" and he kept packing. The female Manager was unprofessional and laughed it off saying "customer service is bad in this store". How does a store manager even consider saying that to a customer, or more importantly, why did a higher up make this person a manager? To add insult to injury, when I finally was able to pay for my item, she tried to mimic my voice on my way out. Disgusting customer service. The cashier man employee was awful. I went in to ask about a refund that I was entitled to, had my receipts and my statement on my phone to show that I was charged incorrectly. The employee began screaming and cursing at me, saying he wouldn't "check a piece of shit receipt" because he knew no errors were committed. Wow, I should've read the reviews before I came to this auto zone. I came to check my battery and alternator and one of the azz hole workers told me their machine was broken. He redirected me to the auto zone in Flushing which was just a blessing in disguise. The customer service was quicker and friendlier. They Flushing location told me this spot probably was just too lazy to check my car. I called them back to see if the machine was working and they said sure, just bring your car in. Ugh. I forgot to review this lovely establishment. THEY DEFINITELY NEED TO HIRE MORE STAFF!!! I have been here 3xs. All 3xs the wait was horrendous. They have 2 long lines and 2 ppl working the cashier and the floor. I asked for help the first time I walked in to replace my battery. The lovely woman couldn't help me since she was helping someone and trying to ring someone up. She asked me to head inside and ask someone else. Soooo I did.......BUT I got the same response. Ugh. I don't know how to take a battery out of the car lol. I finally found someone willing to help me (a customer). I was so annoyed and then had to wait online to purchase the battery. I know it wasn't her fault and she did apologize several times. How about they hire more people to help. The workers there haven't even gotten a break. The lines are just ridiculous. My partner and I went into this store on Friday October 15th. We needed to have our battery tested to see if we needed to get it charged, replaced etc. We walked in around 7pm and waited in line for over 10 minutes while a cashier and a manager argued with a customer about a return. We were not acknowledged until the cashier decided to let the manger work with disgruntled customer and come and help us. Once the cashier was ready to help us she directed us over to the battery testing center where another customer tried to step in front of us. We figured out our battery was bad and replaced it while there. I will not be going back to this place again. They were understaffed, unorganized and not professional. Maybe corporate needs to come in and clean out this store. Unless you're going in knowing exactly what you want and need I would recommend trying another auto parts store. read more

I'll give this AZ Two stars just cause one of their employees really helped me out with my battery. Besides that service at this location is trash! Never any parking; they barely have parts in stock. If you do find a part & you try to pay for it you're going to wait at least 25 min just to pay. -- make sure you ask if the line your on accepts cash! They wouldn't change my dead battery, which died in their parking lot because they said it was "too cold" out. Obviously that's why my battery died, because of the extreme weather change!!! Why would people work in an auto shop when they're too lazy to put on their jacket since "it's too cold out." Maybe the employees should reconsider their job choice or not live in NY if they're too cold to do their job. I have to agree with the other reviews here, always crowded, four people doing everything but helping the customers, they had an armed security guard for awhile who was a moonlighting Brinks guard. How bad is this place that they need an armed guard, what is it a bank ?? Even Autozones I've been to in Las Vegas NV don't have guards. Too bad the Strauss down the block went out of business. Autozone basically carries their own brands which are junk. Also at this location there are always street mechanics working on peoples cars, which I know is illegal, guess the cops don't care because it's a semi-ghetto neighborhood. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! Waited about 12 minutes for a few customers before me. It was around 7pm on a weeknight, the Staff(Manager) who helped me claimed himself as a manager as he refused to replace my faulty battery that is under warranty after he checked my info in the system and there is stock available in store. He said (Gonsary, I believe that was his name from his shirt . This white dude with a long beard. I am not racist. He told me he is under staff and cannot replace my battery for me. He has only 3 customers behind me and 4 staff were working that night. The store did not have anyone else there. I am not sure why he said he couldn't do it. He told me it is only their courtesy to install it for customers. he has all the rights to refuse it. (I am still very skeptical about what he said) Soon after he finished the courtesy speech, (the weird thing happens) he asks me if i wanna buy a brand new battery from his store. I am like what ! he is not replacing it for me because i did not purchase the battery from him. This is redicules. I kept telling him no i do not need a new battery (duh, i supposed to get mine replaced under WARRANTY!) he repeatedly asked me a few times as it makes no sense to me and he continues to refuse to replace my bad battery because how busy he is. I left after all as I do not like to deal with this non-sense. I feeling very disappointed and strange why this manager behave like this to its customers. I would give this place Zero Stars of I could. There is never parking, due to self-employed individuals waiting to catch someone for work. Most of their inventory is partially stocked. One guy a few months back helped me put a battery for my car and was nice enough to take time of his day to show me how to do it. After his help I began shopping here but never seen him since. The rest of the staff is terrible. Completely miserable, have no interest in helping YOU as a PAYING CUSTOMER that SUPPORTS their payroll! Guy with the last name Haro was completely rude with condescending comments towards me. I ignored him as he continued to be rude and not acknowledge me as I was in a rush to complete my transaction. This is the second time I encounter him and his rude service. I refuse to spend my money that supports him and others in this location. If you are miserable and have no passion for your job then leave! No customer should ever feel miserable like you when they need to make emergency stops to BUY car products. I will contact corporate and district manager for such behavior this is unacceptable. by far the worst customer service ever here. 2 cashiers. 2 lines. one cashier was only taking customers buying goods (air fresheners, fluids) the other one was doing service (parts, brake pads etc) there were 2 lines, 1 was moving the other wasnt. so we went to the faster one. when we got to the counter he told us to go back on the line we were just waiting on for over 15 minutes. not even 5 minutes passed by, and the guy who told us to go back on line, opened a new register for service. we've been waiting for over 25 minutes and still haven't spoke to a specialist as to what i need! will never come here again!!!!!!!!!! read more

The managers in this store do not know what "customer service" means! I stopped by on today, 8/20/17 to have my battery checked. Turns out I needed to get it replaced. The lines inside the store are disorganized, no one knew which line to stand on and the staff didn't clarified it for anyone. I pay for my battery and the manager tells me the only guy that can change batteries just went out to lunch and suggested I use one of the unlicensed mechanics that are hanging out in their parking lot!? I said to him that I couldn't believe that a place as busy as this had only 1 person that could change a battery! And why was he suggesting I used some questionable, fly by night mechanic not associated with Autozone??! When he saw me standing inside the store he said to me, "I told you he went to lunch, you are going to wait an hour?" I glared at him and said "do I have a choice?" Even though there was a lull in business in the store, where the 2 managers and 1 female staff member were free and not doing anything, they did not offer to change the battery. They just looked at me hovering. Thank God for Jeudis. He happened to come back from lunch a few minutes early. He saw me and I said I was waiting for him for the battery change. He said "really? they didn't do it?" The innocence of youth! He apologized for taking lunch and I told him that was totally not necessary, he is entitled to his lunch hour! It was sweet of him, though. His managers should take customer service lessons from him! So, if you are ever in need of car parts, DO NOT shop at this Autozone location! I'm giving this place 3 stars simply because the guy who helped me out was so nice and honest. I didn't get his name. My true rating would be 1-2 stars if it wasn't for him. I thought this place is understaff and disorganized when trying to pay from the look of things. I saw customers waiting on staff rather than the other way around. Products are nicely organized so if your self sufficient, this place is fine. Self check out would be a plus for this place. This establishment deserves a negative score. Customer service is appalling, employees are inept and lack professionalism. I visited the store to purchase a car battery, while standing on a long line a young woman behind me asked a male employee if she could be served because she couldn't wait, he pulled her off the line and attended her. I didn't make a big deal and let it go. I'm finally being serviced and asked about the free battery installation they offer, the associate replied they are short staffed, didn't know if it could be done and for me to return later. I asked for a more specific time frame and was given the same reply. I requested for the manager as the young man obviously couldn't answer my simple question. The manager was no better, for whatever reason he found it difficult to say come back in an hour or 2 hours or whatever timeframe was appropriate. When I asked the manager for his name he took his name badge from the register and extended his arm as to say it's Carlos P. and I don't care if you escalate this. Subsequently I went the Sears Auto in College Point Queens where they provided excellent service and a better battery. Installation was not free but I promise it's worth the 19.95 fee. read more
