Very fast, with good results. Richie installed my dashcam the right way, in an hour, and at a reasonable rate.

I need to write this review because I also remember when that place was a horror show. Waiting…read moreforever to check out, drag ass help, online products not available at the store etc. BUT I had a remarkable experience there last week. My car wouldn't start in front of my house even though the radio and headlights would come on. AAA gave me a jump and while I let it run for a half hour I looked online for a new Diehard battery. I'd had this one for years and it was dying hard. No more Sears Auto, Advance Auto has Diehard batteries now so I called the Northern Blvd store at 78th st and spoke with the guy. He said he had my battery. When I came to get it I shut my engine off in the parking lot, tried to restart it just in case, and of course it would not restart. So I was in the right place. I went in and met the guy I spoke with at the counter. Dude was pleasant and had me measure my battery with a tape measure so I got the right one. I installed it in the parking lot and... still won't start. I go back in and ask for a voltmeter to make sure it's charged. He was working with another customer and told me he'd come out as soon as he was done. At the same time one of his regular customers, a guy named John in blue work coveralls, came in and was talking to him about how he almost got screwed at Home Depot on a battery powered multi function drill. As he's listening to me tell the counter guy how I just reinstalled a new battery and the engine won't turn over he goes "It might be the starter". Yeah might be. Could be the alternator too. Now I'm seeing more bucks flying out my pocket. Then he goes "Let me come out and take a look". ?? wow. He comes out and we're looking for where the starter is. Of course it's somewhere under the engine that you can't see from up top. Then the counter guy comes out with the volt meter, checks the battery and it's fully charged. He goes "Let me see if one of these shade tree mechanic guys in the lot has a jack". He comes back with one, we lift the car up and put a brace underneath just in case. John crawls underneath and tells me to crank it while he's banging on the starter. No dice. He goes "Disconnect the battery and look for corrosion on the connectors". Well, the lights come on and I looked when I installed it, but ok why not. They go back into the store to do whatever their business was and I look again. Around the negative battery cable connector I see some flat shiny white stuff. I thought it was an insulation ring and the bolt that goes through the cable into the battery was the conductor. I get out my flathead screwdriver and start scraping at it and sure as s *** it starts cracking off! Damn. Then they both come back out. John takes a look and he goes "See, I told you!". Counter guy goes "Let me get some spray that'll dissolve that for you". John goes to his truck in the lot and gets some contact cleaner while we're waiting, sprays the connectors, tells me to wait five minutes clean it off and reconnect it. He goes back inside. By that time they come back out with the cleaner, now not needed, but the counter guy tells me he also checked my old battery and it was definitely due to be replaced. I know, it was at least 10 years old. So I reconnect the battery, turn the ignition and the s*** starts right up, Strong! As I'm thanking them I ask John if he has a shop somewhere nearby. It's always nice to know a good honest mechanic. Then he tells me he isn't an auto mechanic! Turns out he works on forklifts!!, but says "Engines all work the same way" and "You don't know how many times I go all the way out to the middle of the Island and all it is is corrosion on the connectors.." Holy crap. And "You know if you'dve got towed to a mechanic they'dve ripped you for a new starter and something else because that's what they do". You got that right! I toss them a few bucks and I go happily on my way. Amazing experience. Much respect. Thanks guys..

So I got there little past noon and stood at the clearly marked ONLINE ORDER PICKUP register which is to the side. The female cashier who was helping other people did notice me but didn't bother asking if I needed anything. Also there were 2 other employees just walking around while I stood there. I finally asked the cashier since I have an online order pick up is anyone going to help me or am I in the right line. She just replied one line for everything. Ok whatever no point of having a ONLINE ORDER PIKCUP location if you don't plan on using it. Once I got to the register I gave her my name and she asked me what I ordered. After I told her what I ordered she just walked over to the shelf took the item and there you go. I'm definitely not coming back here unless I have no other choice. Based on other reviews poor customer service is a common practice here.

I was sold the wrong car battery. That was discovered at the mechanics with the old battery already removed, they asked me to carry the heavy battery back to the store though they eventually relented in picking it up but I still had to walk back to buy the CORRECT battery, which was $100 more expensive and a different price than they had quoted me on another day. What should have been a speedy transaction caused me to miss my appointment. I became upset with them. This was partially fueled by my having heard from multiple parties that they were unscrupulous and uncouth. Still, I like to see the truth for myself. When I went back to get a refund, they returned less than the amount of the purchase (discovered later) because the worst of them, a surly, unkempt vagabond-looking sort, and ironically, the one who called me ugly, threw the receipt at me. Of course, it didn't reach me; it was a piece of paper. In my many years of purchasing products at stores, I've never encountered a more unprofessional set of employees. I believe it's a franchise, and I guess they feel entitled to treat me, anyone and everyone that contradicts them, like the sc*m that they are. They bullied the elderly lady in the house next door, a woman who lived in that house for her entire 80 years; they may have antagonized her to her death. They would not stop parking in her driveway. When she passed away and the house was sold, they continued the same savage behavior with the new owners. When calling corporate, we first called other Napa's... one Napa employee referred to them as NASTY. A former employee recommended against buying from them. Long Island City mechanics do not shop at their store. Their store is dark and dirty. They took forever processing the incorrect return, and they insisted on verbally abusing me the entire time - in a personal and debased way. It was so over the top, I stopped being mad myself just to observe with amazement several grown men verbally abusing me for a solid five minutes, with such low intelligence, such lack of self-control, such lack of neural development that it was indeed a scientific curiosity. Needless to say, I do not recommend shopping there.
