I have always been loyal to AutoZone and I have been to multiple locations in multiple cities. While the company is still a good choice for automotive needs, or if you need to get a free code reading, this store did not meet my expectations compared to other locations. I have always been greeted upon entering an AutoZone. Some sort of acknowledgement, even if employees were with customers, to welcome me in, even if nobody is immediately available to help me. I'm also used to seeing a handful of employees working around the store. We came in on a Friday morning, before 10am, and I only saw 2 employees the entire time we were there. Not sure if they are short staffed or if maybe someone was on break. One was with a customer at the counter. Despite making eye contact with me, I didn't even get a nod of acknowledgement. The other employee was at the next counter over, intently looking at a computer screen. She avoided looking at me at all, even as I waited in her line (a line that was just me). I didn't expect her to drop what she was doing, but I did expect a cursory 'be right with you.' I patiently waited for her to wrap up what she was doing before speaking to her, so I wouldn't break her concentration. However, I got the distinct impression she was waiting me out to see if I would go away. I did have to eventually say 'excuse me' and see if she could bring me a part. Her body language and curt tone made it clear that she felt I was a nuisance. When she did get the part she practically tossed it at my husband who had joined me, pointed at the station right next to her and told us to check ourselves out. As I type this, I am now laughing because this sounds so ridiculous and doesn't match up to any previous experience I've ever had with this company. Listen, I'm a reasonable person. I fully expect that corporate told this store they are testing out this self service station (because I've never seen it anywhere else, unless they just don't utilize it or have it marked in any way) and to get as many customers as possible to use it so they can gather data before rolling it out at other locations. I'm not mad about self checkout at all! I just can't believe the obvious disdain and eye rolling we received in such a brief interaction! The customer experience from this one visit was definitely 2 stars. However, reviews should encompass more than one aspect, and AutoZone as a whole still offers needed products and services at a reasonable price! While most locations get a 4 or 5 star rating from me, this one is barely getting a 3. The fact is, that I ended up getting much more help from a competitor I normally avoid as a direct result of our visit here. read more

He took the time to answer all my questions and provided me the exact parts I needed for my car repair. This is the big Autozone parts store on Texas Ave. With the huge red neon sign & neon strips that wrap around the entire building. You could probably see it from orbit at night. This store has a bigger shopping area than the C.S.location, and a comparable parts dept. This is where i ended up locating a Haynes manual for my car when 2 C.S. O'Reilly's, and the Harvey Rd. Advance Auto Parts didn't have it, or seem willing to get it. I also got an air horn (one of those hand-held bout horns you used to hear in the stands at football games in the '80s) for when an ordinary horn beep or a passionate gesture weren't emphatic enough. I soon after heard a friend tell of someone he knew who let loose with one of those in traffic, and a cop heard it, and ticketed the guy after detaining him a long time, so I kept it out of easy reach. read more

I've always had good experiences with OTHER AutoZone locations in B/CS...just not this one. Really not this one. I don't have the skill to fix engines or transmissions, etc. But it's important for everyone, ladies especially (since so many places will try to take you for a ride and overcharge you), to know how to change a tire, change your brake lights/light covers, change oil, change filters, etc. And know the specs on your car so if they tell you that you need four of your motor mounts replaced and you know your car only has three, you can entertain yourself calling their BS. All that kind of stuff I can do. So currently we have a Camaro and a Tahoe, both the same year. Now, I already knew that there isn't a cabin air filter factory installed on the Tahoe but that they left space for YOU to put one in if you wanted. Why? It's called 'cutting corners to reduce costs'. You don't NEED well-filtered cabin air. You won't die, the car won't crash or start on fire; we did ok without it in the 70's. So they left it out. But you CAN put it in, and if you are like EVERYONE ELSE in the Brazos Valley, you have allergies and you'd find retrofitting extra filtration would help. If you log onto the AutoZone site, ask it for cabin filters for the Tahoe ; it'll give you a whole page of cabin filters, with retrofit brackets also available and their own descriptions will all mention that Chevy left space to install this despite not including it at the factory. When I walked in and was asked what vehicle I needed a filter for and said 'Chevy Tahoe 2013' the reply was 'it doesn't have an air filter'. I know, I said, but you can put one in and your website sells them & says the same thing. No, we don't sell them. The Tahoe doesn't have a cabin filter. Out comes the website on my phone. The rep insists that information is probably wrong because Tahoes don't have cabin filters. Your website asked for the make, model, and year and says these will fit. Shouldn't these results be compliant for the make/model/year? I don't know, he said. Do you want me to order one? Why do you want a cabin air filter? Because cars need air filters, is all I said, instead of expounding about allergies and how just because GM wants to cheap out doesn't mean we all have to put up with it. No car before 2010 had an air filter anyway, he then commented. NOT, mind you, that 'cars prior to 2010 often didn't have cabin filters as a standard feature', which MAY possibly have been what he meant. No, cabin air filters were apparently invented in 2010. This, of course, may come as news to many of you who had some of these ancient specimens. Your mechanic's been taking you in replacing them, I guess. Those of you who were doing it yourself must have got the cabin filter confused with the fuse box or something, because you sure weren't changing a filter. He@$, those of you who were driving Euro cars or expensive American cars in the EIGHTIES likesome of my family remember cabin air filters. Well, you are wrong and it must be time for the home, because they weren't around then. If your car is older than 2010, you don't have a cabin filter, period. I'm going to find whatever else you have to say about automobiles suspect if you actually claim that cars older than 2010 don't and couldn't have cabin filters. (And it's irrelevant anyway since the retrofit kit I wanted was for 2013 which, even a girl can calculate, occurred after 2010. GM itself (that's the parent company for Chevy, for the rest of the dumb broads out there like myself) makes (or made) a retrofit kit for this very purpose themselves. I just thought, like a fool, that I could walk into a parts store as opposed to Tom Light Chevy. Let me repeat that. The company that makes the Chevy manufactured a kit to install a cabin filter into the spot they LEFT available to do so. So it seems I will be going there instead. Yes, I could have said order the part number I came in with, if you please, but at that point, I'm ready to pay more elsewhere. Seriously, the line to be waited on moved quickly, and the Camaro filter was produced quickly and very reasonably priced, but that was overshadowed by the oddity of being told that the parts on your own website that are described as fitting X vehicle and that your own website acknowledges that there is space in X vehicle meant for this part, but you can't vouch for anything written on the site, and you can't be bothered to ask someone because hey, it didn't come with a filter, is disheartening. If you want to mod your vehicle and get the part here, not only do you need to know the exact part number you want (I did) but be prepared to be told your car doesn't need it and quizzed about why you'd want it anyway. Although I live MUCH closer to this location, in future I'll go to the College Station one near Tractor Supply; the heavyset guy there is cool and doesn't act like you're asking to put gills on your car instead of some pleated paper read more

Went in to buy a new battery for my key fob because my battery was dead. The employee confidently opened the fob and put in my new battery for me. A week later, the battery died. I went back today to see what the issue was. The first employee, who seemed uneducated about the issue, was getting irritated with me as if I was the one that made the mistake. She spoke to me in a rude tone, rolled her eyes multiple times and sent me to another employee for assistance. The second employee then informed me that "they were not allowed to open the fobs" even though a week ago someone did. The second employee was a little nicer than the first, but was still getting irritated with me. This AutoZone will not see me again. read more
