Some of the best customer service I have ever experience. I really needed some new break pads for a big trip I was taking my car on. I had bought some earlier but to my horror I opened them and it was a set of someones used break pad. I was leaving the next day so I was super stressed out and drove to the only autozone that was open, on the way there I called them to see if they had the ones I needed. Christopher answered the phone and was extremely emphatic to the situation I was in. Even though I told him I would be ariving two minutes before they closed he said that he totally understood and helped me find the part over the phone so it would be ready when I got there. As soon as I arrived I was greeted with a firm handshake and a smile with my part sitting on the counter ready to go. Get in the zone. AUTOZONE. The few things you can count on at any autozone is oiled parking lots, trashcans full of old parts, a half dozen employees and oddly 2 doors individually designated In and Out. Get the app, it will save you from having to call on inventory and possibly waiting on the line. Add your cars to your profile. Sure their database is only 95% accurate, but with a little cross referencing your owners manual you can go in, get your part and be out. There are 2 types of people who come here. Those that are looking for answers and to be advised and those just here for their parts. I am of of the later tribe, so many times im in line behind some people needing more attention. If it wasnt for rampant theft most places should move to self check out. Dont get me wrong most peope doing self check out are slower than an employee doing it because they are too slow on the queus, but someone who could be in and out in under 3 minutes to have to wait in line for 30 hoping other employees see the need for them to prioritize the customer over whatever they are fiddling with is frustrating. I have seen employees helpful to the point of doing the install/repair for you, but its a matter of flow. Also 2 types of employees, the ones about it and the quislings. Prices are standard, but the layout here is very off despite decent organization. The Autozone on Oceanside Blvd. despite the bad parking situation is never busy. read more

I went in to get new headlights for my Lexus. The staff was all super nice and willing to help me get the right product and to install it too (I'm terrible with car stuff). The installation on my particular vehicle was a little tricky but Jesus, Jessica, and Emily were all working to get it done and in the end I was able to drive off with working lights. I've bought a new battery and had it installed here before too and it was a great experience as well. This nice gentleman helped me, he was very patient with me and went outside to check on my battery and told me what I could do. Apparently my warranty had expired 15 days earlier, just my luck. Their customer service is pretty bad every time but I'm usually in and out, I stood in line for a long amount of time (me and one other guy), there were about 4 workers (2 of them were actually busy) the other two were just socializing (male and female). I've been accused of trying to walk out with merchandise once, Whenever I ask where something is it seems like even they don't know (won't help me look tho), they act like it's an inconvenience for them when you ask for a part#, I like doing repairs on my car myself so I've been in there pretty often. My heroes! This was the only AutoZone open until 10pm on Sunday in the area and I'm so glad it was. I was driving up to LA with a friend when we heard the wheel of the car making a strange noise. When we pulled over to check the wheels, it turns out that 3 of the lug nuts had come out on the highway. I called this AutoZone and we were able to get there before closing and grab some lug nuts from them. I went in to see if my battery could be charged to avoid buying a new one , when Christmas went to take a look at my battery it was on the edge of blowing up as it was overheating. He immediately went to put on some protective gear and removed my battery meanwhile he asked me to step away to avoid me getting hurt! I was looking for a battery for a high performance vehicle and I was able to find several selections at this location, but different selections had different price points. Merrick was able to describe to me the difference in between each battery/length to value and my best bang for the buck! He also was very knowledgeable on what oil I needed to use and intricate detail on the process of changing the oil on this particular vehicle. He knows his stuff! I came to drop of some used oil one late evening, and was shocked when the attendant said, "We'll take the oil, but you have to take the bottles with you." Really? I've been changing car and moto oil for three years now in four different counties, and I've never had an Autozone make me walk away with empty plastic oil cans. Usually, it is recycled or discarded correctly by the associates in addition to the oil. I waited awkwardly near the register. The other attendant asked if I need help as if he wasn't sure what I was doing there (both had seen me walk in... and I was the only customer in the store), and I pointed, "I'm waiting for your guy to give me back the empty oil cans." When I walked outside, I finally noticed the overflowing trash barrel where everyone was putting their empty containers. I guess I'm not the only one that thought that disagreed with that store policy. Hate to say it, but this made me go to O'Rielly's. I shouldn't feel awkward when walking into an Autozone. read more

I let her know I'm looking for a part and before I can say anything else she interrupts me and says oh you aren't the guy looking for a rental car or something and immediately puts me on hold for 5 min and never comes back. The exchange policy is terrible. How often are items purchased that the wrong item or damaged item is sold. But to return, even if you pay with a debit, the receipt shows a credit. So regardless, even if you need an exchange, they are requiring a complete return. Which includes waiting 3-5 business days for the $ to go back to your bank account; regardless if you just wanted to pay the difference for part that is needed. read more
