The team that was working Saturday night around 7:15pm was the most unprofessional tandem I've ever experienced. I went in to rent a Compression Tester and one of the workers quickly dismissed me "we dont have that." the other worker then corrected him, but both guys were busy fooling around and joking with each other, including cursing. I was in no mood for that, as I was dealing with a mechanical issue on my vehicle, and these two were of little help. Once they did locate the tool and began the checkout process, they did not offer any guidance as to the rental duration, the cost, the reimbursement, or any other pertinent information whatsoever. I am completely shocked that AutoZone would have these two workers on staff. I wish I had their names, it was that bad. read more

First time ever at this location and the service I received from an employee was,? Words itself can't express enough for what this employee helped me do.First because of my Mercedes benz, Must places won't change the battery because of the type of car and most of all the computerized electronics.Must be a certified mechanic to change and install this type of battery.So I called three different locations to get a quote for this service.First I called firestone,they wanted $287.00 installed.Second I called sears automotive $237.00 and last I called Autozone and same service and same battery installed $161.00.With my help and fore me to reset all of my electronics myself and I was able to do so. Fantastic customer service, I stopped in around when they opened to get my car battery checked out. The guy at the counter checked the battery & it was at the point where it was close to dying, he also checked my alternator to make sure that wasn't an issue. Before even trying to just sell me a new battery he suggested I check with my dealership to see if my battery was still under warranty so I could get it replaced for free. After checking I was already out of warranty so I head back to autozone & get a good dry cell battery for 30 bucks cheaper than my dealership would have charged with a 1 year warranty. read more

No nonsense, great customer service. It helps to know what you need, but if not the staff can probably help you figure it out. At least know the year, make, and model of your vehicle people! Recently had to replace my wife's car battery. I removed it and brought it in. They didn't hesitate to offer to check it, and sure enough it had no charge (not surprising since it was more than 3 years old). Got a equivalent to the OEM stock battery with a nice 5 year warranty. They double checked it was the right overall size too. Signing up to their rewards program tied the warranty info to my phone number so I don't have to carry or keep the membership card. Only knock is one time I needed a replacement part. I came in and was shocked at how expensive the prices were for it in their system. I was able to find a much cheaper option online, but the trade-off is I had to wait much longer for it to ship and arrive. It wasn't a critical part so no big deal. Anyway, I've been pleased overall by the various AutoZone locations I've been to and this one in Simi is no exception. read more

Don't trust these guys at all. Was told by two employees (one named Mario) that the battery I bought could be returned if the issue was not the battery. Now I'm stuck with a $200 battery I do not need. When I arrived I wanted them to test my battery and alternator. They tried but all there equipment was broken. So instead the offered to sell me a battery and proceeded tell me that if the issue was not my previous battery, and if I had my receipt, I would be able to return the new $200 battery. Today (less then 24 hours later) I walk in and I am told that I cannot return the battery. They only do warranty replacement. They sold it, installed it, and lied about returns. Do not trust the employees that work here. They either lie or they are stupid or both. read more

This was my first visit to this store, and I was impressed! A friendly and courteous staffer helped me select windshield wipers. And he was more than happy to install them for me. My car broke down yesterday in the church parking lot and out of the kindness of strangers people tried to jump start my battery but it just was not holding the charge. My husband and I walked over to the AutoZone on Tapo Street and the kindest clerk by the name of, Garrett, helped us out. No only did he give us a ride back to our car but he tested the battery and tightened a loose screw and the car started. Not only was Garrett respectful but he was a great listener.
