After a run to Ace that shouldn't have been necessary, the bike wouldn't crank. After a meter and a closer inspection, found out it was barely farting out 7V and was made in March of 2024, making it 2.5 years old. Plus it was very sticky for no apparent reason. After a call with a Gen Z who needed help spelling Kawasaki ("bet, fam"), I returned it for a fresh battery and found out the reason the old one was sticky is because it was supposed to have a bag of terminal fasteners on it. So I was sold a returned item some incompetent cashier threw back on the shelf. It cost us one of the last beautiful rides of the season yesterday and I will not be returning - I'm going to advance on to O'Reilly.

This company is nothing more than a rip-off. They sell overpriced used cars that have problems…read moreshortly after purchase. I bought a car where the check engine light had been tampered with, and it came on just a day later. When I informed the so-called owner, he said he would fix the problem, which was an 02 sensor but he never did. I returned days later, and after the car continued having issues, he ended up fixing another faulty part. The coolant sensor with another one that was also faulty and he tried to sell me a new one for $500. When I asked why he didn't put in a new part from the beginning, he offered nothing but excuses. Soon after, the car developed a cracked pipe, and I had to replace it along with the oxygen sensors and a new coolant sensor. Now, there's coolant leaking into the exhaust. The car runs and idles roughly, the air conditioning stopped working, and I also had to replace the actuator. Now, exhaust fumes are coming inside the cabin. They just fix up these garage cars to get them off the lot, leaving customers with numerous problems afterward. The Hispanic women who work there seem to cover up for the owner with lies. I repeat: do not purchase a vehicle from this place.

Steve, the AM, was quick to get me in and started. After inspecting my vehicle they came back with recommendations. I first thought "Oh great, they are trying to sell me something". My axle was cracked and my tires were worn and mismatched. What impressed me was that the mechanic even inspected my spare and told me it was flat and blown and the rim was bent. Obviously in the four years I have owned this car, no other mechanic did this as I have never used the spare. They priced me for tires but even suggested I go to a junk yard to get a new rim for cheap. They also suggested I return to the place I bought the tires for the warranty. No high pressure or shady sales tactics. Finally Steve made sure I had the pep boys rewards (which I did) for the discounts on tires and service. So being impressed I returned to have the axle fixed a week later. Imagine my surprise when the repair was $60 LESS than the quote. Never. Happens. Finally, Steve called the day after my repair to thank me for my business. I highly recommend this place, Steve runs it like a local shop with loyal customers but they have the large chain specials and discounts. Win-win.

A little over a month ago, I left Elmhurst Toyota a one-star review after a frustrating experience…read more I never expected I'd be coming back to write this review, but I'm genuinely grateful that I am. What happened next completely changed my opinion of the dealership and showed me why Elmhurst Toyota has earned such an outstanding reputation. After calling the dealership twice for an out-the-door price on a 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium, I was told someone would call me back. Unfortunately, that never happened, and I was ready to take my business elsewhere. The very next day, I received a call from Joe, one of the sales managers. From our first conversation, it was clear that Joe genuinely wanted to make things right. He took the time to understand what had happened, looked into the situation himself, acknowledged that the dealership had made a mistake, and sincerely apologized. That level of accountability is rare, and it immediately changed my perspective. The RAV4 I wanted simply wasn't available anywhere. The exact model, color, and options I wanted couldn't be found. Rather than asking me to settle for something else, Joe got to work. He stayed persistent and ultimately made it possible for me to order the exact vehicle I wanted, something I honestly didn't think was possible. Over the next month, Joe called or texted me regularly with updates, so I never once had to wonder where things stood. He kept every promise he made and completely transformed what had started as a disappointing experience into one that exceeded every expectation. When Joe called to tell me my RAV4 had arrived, much sooner than I expected, I couldn't wait to pick it up. Melissa from Sales made delivery day unforgettable. Before I even arrived, she sent me videos of my new RAV4, making the excitement feel real long before I walked through the doors. When I got there, my car was waiting with a bow on it. This was my very first brand-new car, and you only get that experience once. Melissa made sure it was every bit as special as I had imagined. She was warm, genuine, and incredibly kind. Within minutes, I felt like I had known her for years. She never pressured me into purchasing anything beyond what fit my needs or budget, and she made the entire process feel easy and enjoyable. Then I met Andrés, Product Specialist "Genius". As a fifth-grade teacher, I appreciate great teaching, and Andrés was exceptional. He patiently walked me through every feature of my RAV4, answered every question without making me feel rushed, and even continued helping me after I brought my car home. His patience and kindness turned what could have been overwhelming into something I genuinely enjoyed. Finally, there was Jack in Finance. If you've ever dreaded the finance office at a dealership, Jack will change your expectations. He was friendly, honest, and refreshingly low pressure. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me choose what was right for me, not what would simply cost more. Looking back, what stands out most isn't that Elmhurst Toyota corrected a mistake. It's how they chose to correct it. Every person I worked with shared the same professionalism, kindness, and genuine desire to help. That tells me this isn't about one exceptional employee. It's about a dealership whose culture is built around taking care of its customers. Before shopping for my RAV4, I spent a lot of time researching Toyota dealerships, and Elmhurst Toyota consistently came highly recommended. After this experience, I can honestly say they have earned every bit of that reputation. I live in Naperville, and Elmhurst Toyota is not the closest dealership to my home. That no longer matters. I'll gladly make the drive for every service appointment, and when it's time for my next Toyota, I already know where I'll be going. Thank you, Joe, Melissa, Andrés, and Jack. You didn't just earn a five-star review. You earned my trust, my future business, and my sincere gratitude. Thank you for making my first brand-new car an experience I'll never forget.
