Horrible! NO Customer Service ! A friend recommended this place for my Ford E-350 , I needed a new seal/gasket for a leak on my transmission pan . I came in spoke with Chris , he told me "Maybe we'll get to it next Weds " Waited 11 days , went back in there after no call ? The sister was at the front desk , very disrespectful Says "We are really busy "! Too busy to phone a customer after waiting 11 days to make a 30 second phone call ? Took my truck to Melrose Auto , Omg ! they called my 1 1/2 later with the digagnosis and had it fixed the same day . I recently had two nails lodged into both my tires, I was recommended by another auto shop to try Axtmann Auto, since they were booked out the clock till next Thursday. The guys took me in with ease, I told one of them I brought my own Tire repair kit, just needed help with installation. He didn't even budge told me they had their own equipment and will fill up the missing tire air since puncture. I was in and out within 3 minutes. Awesome awesome! These guys were great! Being a girl and knowing nothing about cars, I am always a little intimidated when it comes to mechanics. I went in for overheating and oil leaking. A while back my car died on me, while driving. I thought I had a problem w/ my fuel line or something along those lines & was expecting to pay quite a few bucks. They checked everything, and realized my brake fluid had gotten low, and though they'd heard about safety measures like this, they'd never actually seen it happen. I also had an issue w/ the TPS in a rear tire, so they looked at that as well. In total, they were messing w/ my car for a couple of hours, at least, yet only charged me $75. They didn't charge me for any labor, except the the TPS, even though they did spend a good amount of time on it. They didn't have to fix anything, but I fig'd diagnostics would be included in their labor rates & they weren't. People don't really know much about vehicles & going in thinking I was going to spend $500-$1,500, I would have been ecstatic if I spent $300. They COULD HAVE fed me bs & overcharged, but instead they were honest & legit. I appreciated this so much read more

A premier shop that never lets you down. I've been to the shop plenty of times in the past and it was very cluttered and dirty. After the new owner took over, it was a big turn around. It looks cleaner, especially by the office. Chris, the new owner, is a very upstanding guy. He worked for Don and Rich for some time. I only trusted him with my vehicles. Now that he's owner, I can't see what can go wrong. I love see the dogs. One of them is still a pup (1 year old I believe). He's hyper and likes to bark but that doesn't bother me. The two dogs were from shelters which is why I can understand their neediness. Went off a little tangent there, anyways Axtmanns service is great and I recommend them to anyone looking for a shop that doesn't add on repairs that aren't needed. Because I know far less than I should about cars, I was very afraid of your standard shady mechanic who tells you you have a ton wrong with your car just to make a few bucks. So I did a lot of research to find a reputable auto body shop in Chicago and came up with these guys. All the reviews are very much correct. They told me what was wrong with my car, fixed it at a very reasonable price, and didn't try to tell me x, y, or z additional thing was wrong. I recommend going here and would definitely go back despite my living all the way on the south side of Chicago. Got their a little before they opened and Don took care of me without a complaint and I was able to catch the 8am train at Gladstone (very convenient) . Wayyy to over priced charged me $450 for a tune up on a chevy. Didn't do the inspection like they said they would but said car was fine then 2 days later my car kept shutting off due to a gas leak had to take it somewhere else to get fixed at a cheap price. Axtmann Automotive Repairs is a one in a million place. The outside and inside is a auto repair facillity. Nothing fancy or luxurious about it, were honestly replaces that. Don is a gentleman that is above and beyond the honest and professional. Went there today for an estimate on brakes because everyone told me that brakes should be replaced or changed at over 60,000 miles. This is the second place I went to. I do like most of you check recommendation by web sites like Yelp, Checkbook, Nextdoor etc. Place by house told me needed front brakes and rotorand maybe struts.. Don of Axtmann told me I had 45% brakes and struts don't need to be changed closer to 90,000. Don also rotated my tires. NO CHARGE! I will take my car for any needed service to AXtman. read more
