We had purchased a new used truck and hadn't used the windshield wipers, living in sunny Tucson. On our travels to the Grand Canyon we ran into rain. The wipers were terrible, to the point it was dangerous. We stopped by The AutoZone very close to opening. I asked the man for the correct wipers and the best value, meaning I didn't mind paying for something as long as the quality was there. He provided his recommendation and we were out the door. Vehicle broke down near this location so we stopped in to get a new battery. Once we placed the battery in the vehicle it was reading at 60%, this was a new battery. We went back in to replace it (never left the parking lot) the manager wouldn't replace it. They sold us a faulty battery and wouldn't replace or refund. Go to o'reilys. read more

I asked them to turn my check engine light off and they just said it would come back on. I asked them if they would just turn it off for me and they acted like I was speaking another language. Really is hit or miss with these guys. Just want to assure that I'm talking about the new Autozone on Milton. Sometimes they provide great service and smile. Other times it's horrible--like today. Had to return a part that broke. It came in pairs, but the other piece was already mounted on the car. Guy said he couldn't exchange it unless I had the other piece. The parts were $7!!! I told him it was already mounted and I was not going to go back and remove it to come in and exchange it. That piece was working. Just give me a replacement for the broken one...it's only 3 bucks. He actually gave me a hard time, but the manager finally told him to exchange it. Good god. read more

The staff here is cranky on the phone and unhelpful in person. When I asked where something was located they pointed vaguely in a direction and said probably over there. When I called to ask when the part would arrive they were annoyed and brusque. I went in a third time to get another part and the worker was convinced I was asking for the wrong part (I wasn't) so he would only help me find the part he thought I needed. Typical Autozone you'd find in every town USA. Yet, the staff was friendly and helpful so I thought I'd give them a shout out.

Here is how the conversation went: Me: My mother phoned ahead and I was told you were holding a Chilton manual for a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. Salesman: Let me go check our shelves. (He checking and checking .... and checking. All the while I am saying to myself, "Just ask the other sales people." He goes in the back to check another area and returns.) Salesman: We have it in stock but it's still in the back with the other inventory. The computer reads we have it but we are not opening boxes at this time. (Mind you, there are 3 customers in the store and not even high noon or busy.) Me: That's the reason we drove all this way is because your store said, "It's available." Ok. So ... you can't go back there and dig it out so we can purchase? Salesman: No. We can't. We are leaving and I look at my brother and say, "Do they not sell to the public or just us? I don't understand businesses who will not do their job." So we drove down to O'Reilly's Auto Parts and they were more than accommodating to us. read more

This has nothing to do with their prices because let be honest, these auto parts stores charge more than what they should. This is more of the customer service. My car was having issues so I went here and an employee grabbed his little device for checking batteries and said I had a bad battery. I was in town for NAU orientation. After having to have my car jump started by helpful strangers twice, I found these guys on Yelp. I use Autozone because they are very helpful anytime any of our cars need something. Brian B came out and tested the battery; it needed to be replaced. I asked if he would replace it for me and he readily agreed. As soon as he touched a wrench to one of the clamps, it broke due to all the corrosion. We went in and bought the "universal replacement" kit (apparently my car is not universal; it didn't fit.) Brian spent over an hour working to get that mismatched part to fit and get me on my way. He went above and beyond what he "had" to do to get me up and running. Associates like him are why we use Autozone exclusively in our house!! WOW service exemplified! Thanks again Brian!! read more

The staff is friendly but other than that they are scammers. My car battery died the other day and I went to autozone asking if they could check it and they also checked the alternator. The battery was fine but the guy told me my alternator does not work and "failed" and then asked me if I would like to buy an alternator from them continuously. I went to O Reilly auto parts today my battery was now at 95% and that there is no problem with my alternator and auto zone just told me it failed because they want my money. Therefore don't go to auto zone if you have a problem they want your money :) read more

Lame customer service considering how many people work there; yet seem to hide in the parts area.

On vacation I stopped in for a brake light. Only auto zone it ever heard of that will not allow you to borrow simple tools to make a quick swap. Bad decision apparently the manager thinks is a good idea. Packed up and went .5 miles up the road to NAPA and for everything I needed with no hassle.
