First off, this Auto Zone is in a bit of a sketchy area. It also smells horrible outside here, not sure why...smells like sewage. They also did not have what I needed although it said online they did. I needed a cutter strong enough for chains or bolts...basically anything to cut through metal and they only had wire cutters. What they did have in stock, however, was well organized and looked like high quality products. The employees were also nice and helpful. read more

Received a call from the office that one of our company cars was vandalized overnight (some was stealing a tire and left the car sitting on the driver side drum. I was asked to stop and get 5 lugs on the way in that morning. I stopped in at Auto Zone in Escondido and they had them for me at a great price! Store wasn't real busy but the questions that can happen from customers can take a bit to answer or solve...so even though you are waiting for a while it's likely due more to the customer than the employees of A.Zone. But still you'd like to get helped a bit more efficiently than waiting fifteen minutes for lugs. But to have lugs in stock for the vehicle I we have is impressive to say the least. I docked them one star for the wait but I still recommend them. Store looks nicely organized. Maybe just need another person. Large parking lot so that also nice. read more

Of course my car dashboard light started flashing "low engine oil" while the husband was on an out of town business trip and my mechanic was already closed when I got off of work -So, I ended up here to SEE if I could "DIY" :) this dilemma. Thankfully Sam one of the managers did everything for me! To be honest I was dreading it! Wah!! I probably looked like a damsel in distress-but I'm sure every girl that walks in without a guy is! Haha :D -anyways Sam was friendly & professional despite of the 90 degree heat @ 7pm he still was so willing to help me. I could have just bought a quart of oil and went on my merry way- BuT Nooo.. he was asking if I knew what to do & with oil, funnel and some paper towel in hand he insisted to make sure It was done right! - Such a sigh of relief that there are still good people in this world who love there job -because it shows :) Thank you Sam for going above and beyond! Sam also asked if I recently got an oil change and it WAS a week/shy of a day- he said they probably may have mistakenly didn't put enough oil- well it happens - human error and I'm grateful that it was only just that. -Thanks again Sam happy that you saved me and gave me peace of mind. 5 stars! read more

All I gotta say is that if your planning to purchase a battery for you car, make sure they check if the battery is good to be used and make sure they show you that, because last Thursday they sell me a bad battery, the supervisor (that claimed to be the most knowledgeable) just used the jump started and told me I was good to go all that after 15 min of trying to turn on the car and getting frustrated. I believed that and left to get some lunch, and guess what... yup the car didn't turn on, I went back to the store just because my wife was on her day off lucky I had a back up vehicle. At the store they just gave me another battery and told me "just make sure you bring the battery back" and when I told them I had no tools to change it myself, they pretty much try to say "not my problem" ... the "supervisor" who "helped me" earlier that day said he was about to get off and promised to help me out so we exchanged numbers and stayed on touch but be never show up even after I called him and he said he was ( I was only 10 min away driving and I was planning to reward him with some cash), My wife, baby and I waited for 2 hours for someone that wasn't man enough to say something like "I won't make it" or simply not giving me his phone number anyway, Not the worst experience ever, but all that just because I didn't asked for a double check of the battery I purchased. I shop Auto Zone frequently, as I profess to be a shade tree mechanic. I shop their deals on oil and filters along with the other parts outlet that has a green logo. The staff here is friendly and welcoming, as well as being bilingual. This is a good thing, as it seems that my Latino brethren share a passion for fixing rather than replacing their cars. I was stuck with my kids outside Rubio's because my car turned off and would not turn back on. I had no one to come help so I called Auto Zone. Gerardo came to my car and helped with jump start. This location is the worst one out of all of them they are always lagging behind. I waited outside 15 min and had to leave because the manager can't wake up on time to open the store. Unacceptable I had a crew of 4 men and myself waiting for this store to open and had to go elsewhere because they were so late to open the store. Don't even bother calling they put you on hold and take forever to answer a question. Seems this store is always busy and understaffed. My experience was very similar to the other reviews on here. This place has the worse customer service of any business I have ever walked into. I could not find what I was looking for. I found one guy working the floor, he was involved in a conversation about a sports event coming up. I waited for a few minutes, obviously right in front of them waiting for the sports talk to end, finally butted in and asked if they carried what I was looking for. The guy said, "I don't know" and went right back to his other conversation. It is ok if he does not know, but I expected him to say let me find out or something.... nothing. Another guy was behind the counter, had a long line, asked him real quick and he sent me back to the other guy. This went on for 15 minutes, I walked out, went a little farther away to pep boys, walked in, was greeted by someone who asked if they could help me. They directed me right to the area, before I got there another employee asked me if I was finding everything I needed, and then made sure I found it. They were only 5 minutes away from Auto Zone...... now that's how you do business! read more

I'll do the negative of it first, but then it is what it is...the line sometime are long and employees take awhile to get it moving. This review was due a year ago. Five Stars because I boycott O'Riely for not helping a lady like me to take out the battery and put in a new one that I bought from their store. They refuse to help and say they are busy and there was 1 person in back of me and so I had to do it myself being a tiny woman, begging for help as customer went in and out of their store. Instead I return O'Riely battery, hitch a ride to Autozone in Mira Mesa at the time and they lend me the tools to go back to get it out from where it was parked at O'Riely ( I don't care if I spelled their name wrong.) AUTOZONE at this location I had an incident with another car battery and since it was still under warranty, I received a new one without a problem and they went out and put it in for me! They also help me connect the new screws which was loose on top of that. Being a woman that means a lot when it comes to Auto customer service. I forgot my tech name but he was the best! I truly won't go anywhere else, the support and assistant woman get from Autozone really is the best customer's service one can only get with Autozone. Thank you! read more

I had AMAZING service from the customer service TEAM at this location. They made sure not to sell me something that I don't need. I had both of my low beam headlights go out this morning when I was leaving the house for work. I arrived at this Autozone thinking that I had a fuse or relay problem. Israel G at this location really came through as a shining star and helped me. I couldn't get the fuse puller to work and he figured it out quickly and educated me that my fuses were actually still good because there was no shatter in the window of the fuse. He thought it over and suggested trying to switch out the hi beam relay that was working for the low beam relay and my hi beams worked both ways. He astutely diagnosed that the XL low lamps had both burned out at the same time. It's dark now and I was having to drive with my high beams on to get to this store. Now, because of Israel G and the other team members at this shop I'm able to get back on the road safely for $30 with my headlights working. I really appreciate that Israel G went above and beyond to help me feel safe getting back on the road. Thank you Israel G and Autozone customer service team! read more

Went to purchase a battery and I asked the service tech helping me what are the different options for batteries that I have and he said well what are you a teacher I said no I'm not a teacher but I would like to be a while me informed consumer and know what I'm fine before I purchase. He was rude and then showed me other option. Luckily I was able to find a battery within my price range. Then after I purchase was told they can't not install . When I walked in, I thought the service here was going to be great! I was looking for a 65mm oil filter removal cap to attach to a socket wrench, and there was actually someone willing to help me look (unlike the other Autozone I had visited earlier in search of the same)! The girl that came to help me out said she would help me look, and pointed toward the caps I had already searched and couldn't find the proper size for. My it-girl then said she was going to check to see if they had anything in stock, and walked back to the front. I waited 10 minutes, and nobody returned. I walked to the front, and my it-girl was just finishing a transaction to check someone out. Three other employees were sitting with nothing to do behind the counter. I walked up to the register with the smallest of the caps I could find, and she said nothing! I asked if I could bring back the cap I selected if it didn't fit, to which I received a nod. Lo and behold, the cap didn't fit. When I made a second trip to return it, the manager was standing at the customer service counter. She beckoned me over, and here was my exchange: Me: "I've got this cap that I purchased earlier. The girl that helped me said that I could bring it back if it didn't fit, and unfortunately, it doesn't." Her: *nod* Me: "Do you need anything from me?" Her: *Grabs the receipt from my hand* Me: "I just want to clarify, there isn't anything wrong with it. It just doesn't fit what I need." Her: "The refund has gone back on the card. Bye." Ew. The only reason I ever go to this location is because of its proximity to me, the service is terrible, the associates look down on their customers, the wait is upsurd, and the store and outside of the store are very dirty. I have even tried calling so I can get a price/availability check on some parts only to hear the phone be picked up and slammed back on the reciver. I will not conduct any business here if I can ever help it I suggest no one else does. I'm not sure if race is the reason but it seemed that they were more than accommodating for their non white customers. read more
