I called the store and Sandra quickly confirmed the filter was for the old car, and that they could exchange it for a new filter for me plus or minus whatever the nominal price difference was. Turns out they owed me 50¢. This store lacks the hype and the glitz you'll find at other major auto parts stores. But their people will make sure you get what you need.

What's wild is, a mobile mechanic got the job done in 30 minutes, I'm safely back on the road, and still waiting for my refund from these guys. They're going to be really nice here, and go deep deep in your pockets as much as they can. Find a good mechanic that you can trust, and stick with that person as long as you can.
