Items stolen from my car!!! DO NOT TRUST them!!! I have been using Greg's shop for a few years. My car had an electrical problem and was towed to his shop. They had it in their possession for three weeks. He advised me that they couldn't take it sooner because all of their racks were full. When I went to pickup my car not only had they broken my hood latch ....but all of the valuable items from Inside my car were missing to the tune of $500+ dollars. He also is not offering to fix the hood latch that they broke. When I inquired about it, Greg did not take any ownership for the missing items. He also stated that they left my car unlocked outside all day and pulled it in at night....which is obviously a lie as he told me several times there was no room for my car in the shop which was why they had it so long. He then proceeded to tell me that he would have had to charge me two hours of labor each day in order to lock my car. He is a poor excuse for a business owner. I would not trust him or his shop if I were you!!!! read more

They are the WOREST and don't trust them. I didn't leave this review at the time but I really should have because we are still finding damage to our cars that they created. We used to take our cars here and they were great. However somewhere in late 2021 or early 2022 they turned to s@#t. They ignored us many times, never returned phone calls. Charged us $2500.00 for a new air compressor for our air conditioning and never actually fixed it claiming that wasn't the issue. Yet we had to pay for parts and labor that weren't necessary. Now we find they also just left a hose unattached and dangling so it's damaged too and we have to fix that. Have found several other issues over the couple of years but the one I mentioned above has now cost us over $1000.00 to fix their mistakes. Ok this was one of the worst mechanic experiences I've had in a few decades. I scheduled a simple oil change almost a week in advance and left my Car there all day. Terrible communication. Had to call several times to get status and the owner, Greg, is super rude and simply out of touch. Obviously doesn't need new customers. He laughed at me because I called a second time to get status. The shop is a mess and the driveway into their parking lot is guaranteed to scrape the bottom of any low clearance car. The first time I went to AWE was to have my car "gone thru" so I could sell it w a completely clear mind. In addition to a general go thru, I had a convertible top motor that did not work. In his favor he was able to get me a after marker one that saved me a lot of $$ however the service cost was very high!! when I go the car home the ck engine lite and convertible top light on dash were both still on. Before I brought it back I went to 2 auto parts stores to have them do diagnostics, both said the same thing: I needed O2 sensor I returned it and it was there almost 2 e\weeks! when I picked it up I asked about 02 sensor. The fellow the helped (very polite, very nice) me at the desk (not rude Greg) said yes it needed an o2 sensor! OMG etc etc etc read more

DO NOT GO TO AUTOWERKS EAST I would give this minus stars if it was an option. Originally we went to get a regular service which seemed to go well although took a long time and we had to keep calling for an update. After calling we eventually were able to pick up the car and we experienced tire sensor lights that came on. This seemed odd and since the Car had just done a service, we figured we should take the car back to them. Maybe the time will be better since they originally worked on the car, nope! They had the car without doing any work on it for weeks on end and we had to keep calling and asking about an update. We got the car back ($1,300 later) were told to drive it around for a while and the lights would eventually go off. They did not. We drove it from there in Louiseville to Boulder and on the way back the car stopped working while driving twice and came up with additional errors that had never happened before. It was not a good experience. We took it back to the shop and again, they kept it for weeks and didn't get in touch. When I called to check in Greg, the owner, gave me attitude about not having time to call me if he didn't have an update and that they were waiting on Land Rover to get back and it would take as long as it would take. He said he was going to put the car back on the ramp later that day and take another look and then surprise, surprise, we had another three days go by without hearing anything. We gave up and went back and picked up the car and took it to another place who specialize in Range Rovers. Further away from us although when we called and explained they were happy to take a complimentary look for us. The specialized shop shared with us that the wrong tire sensors were installed which has cost us an additional cost and other things that were unplugged on the vehicle and not set up right so the computers were never going to cut off the warning lights. I have had my car from new since 2013 and have never missed a service or check up, usually with the dealership but we moved and thought Greg's place was closer and it looked like he specialized in the cars and we thought we'd take a chance. I cannot comment on Porsche's which are all over his place so maybe he is better with those but if you have a Range Rover, DO NOT go to this place. It is not worth it and you will regret it. We are down way more money than we should have been although learned a lesson and hope by sharing this review that others will benefit from this and not make the same mistake that we did by going to this place. read more

Go somewhere else, had the worst service. He had our land rover for 6 weeks, suppose to be 1-2. Would not return calls for weeks . When owner finally did he said would be done by Friday, 2 weeks later we found out he had not even looked at it. It sat there for 6 weeks and nothing. Worst run business I've ever seen. read more

If it were possible to give negative stars I would. Greg the owner is one of the most dishonest individuals I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. There are a ton of great mechanics in the Boulder area - take your vehicle to ANYONE else. If you love your vehicle like I do I would suggest pouring gasoline over it and lighting it on fire before trusting these clowns with your vehicle. You'll be better off in the end. These guys violated Colorado law by providing no quote or estimate and through intimidation forced my wife to pay $4,200.00 before releasing the vehicle. The vehicle was not fixed and we have since received a quote of over $18,000 required to fix the hack job these guys did on our engine! We disputed the charge with American Express and American Express sided with us after reviewing a second quote from a certified mechanic pointing out their failure to fix the vehicle. They not only didn't fix the vehicle. They made it much worse. They also had the nerve to threaten a lawsuit if I spoke up about their business practices and disputed the charge. Don't let these guys bully you. You need to trust your mechanic and these guys are crooked. I'm going to the Attorney General now to file a formal complaint as they continue with their attempted intimidation. Here is the entire detailed story: AutoWerks East had had my Range Rover since June 20, 2016 and NEVER PROVIDED A QUOTE OR ESTIMATE. NO AUTHORIZATION was given to repair the vehicle and no written estimate was ever provided PRIOR to work being done on the file. This is a direct violation of Colorado Law Colorado Revised Statutes 42-9-101 which mandates that a written estimate must be signed by the vehicle owner prior to work being completed on the vehicle. The law also outlines that a waiver needs to be signed if a written estimate is not provided. I did not sign either of these. We continued to follow up over the course of the next 5-6 weeks and AutoWerks was not able to provide a status of the vehicle. On July 30, 2016 we finally told the company representative that we were coming to pick up the vehicle and take it to another technician due to their inability to provide an estimate. Greg, the owner said that we would have to pay for the work that had been completed on the vehicle. We informed the representative that we did not authorize any work and we were not paying for any fees for work we did not authorize. July 30, 2016 my wife went to pick up the vehicle and the owner would not release it unless my wife signed an fraudulent estimate and paid $4,200.00. Kathryn was forced to sign this "pre-work estimate" AFTER the work had been completed in order to get the vehicle back. We have been informed that the mechanic's refusal to release the vehicle until this was signed and this fee paid was an act of criminal conversion and fraud by making her sign this. After receiving the vehicle back from the shop the dashboard lit up with the same errors as before. We sent notification to the repair shop with a picture of the notifications and no resolution was offered. We have had to take the vehicle to another repair company to fix the issues at a quoted expense of several more thousand dollars. In addition, they provided a "loaner" vehicle that was not only unsightly, but leaked power steering fluid. I had to buy power steering fluid to add more multiple times per day and the leak has ruined my driveway. These guys are dishonest and I would highly suggest that you take your vehicle elsewhere. I am now reporting them to the Attorney General for their violation of Colorado law under CRS 42-9-101. If they did "repairs" without your authorization and held your vehicle hostage like they did with us I suggest you also report them to the Attorney General and dispute your credit card. There is no room for this sort of dishonesty in the community we live in. read more

I was fortunate enough to find AWE about 5 years ago when I brought my 86 Porsche 944 Turbo to him for routine repairs. Since then, Greg and his team have serviced both of my Range Rovers. If you want someone to take care of your German car better than you would, this is the place. For years I wasted $ going to the dealer and thought they were the best way to go, I was sadly mistaken. I would refer Greg's shop to everyone and can't say enough about their knowledge of European cars and the trust factor that comes along with taking your car to them. Keep up the great work AWE!! I brought my 2005 Boxster S to AutoWerks East when it lose coolant fluid and triggered 'low coolant' warning after every few hundred miles. Greg, the owner, worked on my car for ~3 months to greatly improve the issue. I still see coolant/vapor condensation on trunk lid. Hence, I am not sure the issue was 100% fixed. To be fair, the condensation is minimum and it may be normal for a Boxster. During that 3 months, Greg and his team conducted various 'science projects', in Greg's own words, in order to isolate the issue. Greg put inline temperature and pressure gauge to determine if engine was overheating. He replaced coolant reservoir and cap, water pump and thermostat to rule out wore parts. Nothing really sticked. Finally, Greg recommended a center radiator to improve cooling capacity and replaced a coolant hose that has pinhole leakage. The issue was greatly improved for me to pick up the car. Honestly, I was about to lose hope of ever getting my car back... During the whole process, Greg was pretty easy to work with and he would spend time discuss the issue. More importantly, Greg and his team took the time and effort to diagnose the issue and minimize the cost of repair. Despite some frustration along the way for him, Greg persevered and gradually isolated and addressed the issue. The repair did take ~3 months. So you got to be patient with the shop if you have a challenging problem. I knocked one star off because I had to return back to the shop to retrieve missing parts like under-body panel, wheel nut lock key, plastic cover for oil and coolant reservoir chamber. read more

Audi A4. Been there 3 times for the same two problems. P0411, P1136. Seems like they are throwing parts at the problem and then clearing the code. A day or two later the check engine light comes back on with the same codes. Tomorrow will be the 4th and last time. I would not recommend them for a normal car, they focus on high end or collector cars and cars like mine are churn and burn work. Some really annoying things, I have to call to find out if the car is done or not, cannot seem to get an good idea of when the car will be done, they are always so sure they fixed it, but every times it still has an issue... just been a really tough experience. I dropped my Audi A8 off Autowerks East the day after Labor Day with a list of 8 items that needed fixed (mostly warning lights and electrical problems) and 2 service items (change the oil and plugs). It took repeated phone calls from me to get any updates on the repair status, and final after over 2 weeks they said I could pick it up. Out of the 10 items on my initial list they managed to change the oil, change the spark plugs, and replace a wire harness that was causing an oil level sensor warning. So they managed to fix 3 out of my 10 items and it "only" took 2 weeks. On my drive away from their shop back home, I received 2 warnings which were the exact warnings I asked them to repair. Things got worse when I tried to pop the trunk which they were supposed to repair. It didn't work even though they charged me over $400 to fix it. Today I went back, and Greg wouldn't even walk outside and look at the trunk problem. He just said I needed to drop my car off again and he had no idea how long it would take to repair the trunk. I asked if they tested the trunk after they "repaired" it, and Greg said it stayed open after they replaced the struts. Actually, it stayed open BEFORE they replaced the struts too, the problem is that it wouldn't open or close. They "repaired it" and didn't even push the button inside the car to see if it opened? Or push the button on the inside of the trunk to see if it closed? In my humble opinion they are totally incompetent and incredibly frustrating to try to work with. I'm cutting my losses and will never return. I would give them 0 starts, but that isn't an option. -Bill- read more

I have a 2003 BMW 540i that needed a 60,000 mile service and had other small problems (smelly AC, coolant light, etc.). I started pricing the service on-line and checked with the Boulder dealership. Lets just say the price was incredibly expensive. I read a brief review on another web site and decided to try Autowerks. Not only was Greg extremely knowledgeable but he was also more then fair on the pricing. Greg under promised and over delivered. I took my 2011 Audi TT in for an not ready status of two sensors which prevents the car from passing emissions. I have a Stage II APR flash with the 3" downpipe and cold air intake. I was told they can change the ECU to show a ready state and would take it to have emissions tested. When I picked up they told me the computer doesn't look for a ready state currently and there is nothing they could do to fix it. THEN WHY DID HE TELL ME TO BRING IT IN? He charged me $122 for telling what I already knew after indicating 'no problem they could set the ready code'. When I complained about spending $122 for nothing he mentioned he charges a flat rate to help pay for his $120K machine he has for this purpose. I feel misled that they could fix it only to find out they don't have the tool to make it work. I really hate paying for nothing, I feel led on when in reality they don't have a clue. read more

I spent $1500 on suspension bags for my Land Rover only to get it back so deafeningly loud that children near by hold their ears. When I asked about the noise, the owner smiled and said "at least the pump won't run as long now right?" I'm a single mother of three and that was everything I had as I split the payment between cash and credit cards. This place has no conscience. read more

Cannot verify that literally any of the work paid for was performed. All issues that have continued exactly as they had prior to the $1500 service. While some was routine maintenance the service light wasn't reset either. The loaners are a helpful idea but if you own a even reasonably high end vehicle you'll be embarrassed using these at all. read more

Greg and his team have been servicing my car for over 28 years! Our family recently purchased a used BMW and Greg made sure to thoroughly assess the engine with a fine-tooth comb. My car is something that I take pride in, and I know that it is in good hands with Greg and his team, no matter how big or small the service. My husband asked detailed questions about the engine to the original owner's mechanic, and they didn't know the answers. We took the car to Greg and he always gives his honest opinion, and in my experience has proven to be the most knowledgable on high-end german cars. Had my front brakes and rotors replaced on a range rover autobiography, they ground and make loud noise after they replaced them. Took it back 1000 miles later and the mechanic said "wow" we need to redo these under our warrantee. Dropped it off again, Greg was there when I picked it up and said that "they all do that" not sure they did a thing. It's terrible so I have to spend another grand somewhere else. As a post previous that I wish I would have read before I dropped my 16 years Old Son Car Off! I asked on the phone and in person how much a diagnostic on this would cost he never gave me an amount and skimmed over it. We bought this car for 600.00 for my Son just to basically burn out and I told him that we DO not want to put a lot of money into this project he seemed cool with that? Now I'm wondering why I have to chase down this mechanic to see the status see below: We dropped the Car off on a Wednesday and he told us they would get to it on Thursday. No phone call so I called just to be treated badly "We are really busy here and we will get to it when we can" I'm OK with that no hurry. Friday evening I call nope nothing. Monday I call yeah we will get to it today? Tuesday we had to call again he said we couldn't get in cause key wouldn't work? By Wens. no call again Husband called said yeah we got in car - he asked for a written estimate "oh sorry computers are down"!? I called today and said computer is down again. OK if computers are down can u hand write me out an estimate or text me? Nope can't do it way to busy! THEN he got way rude "GREG" that is. WOW I honestly have never been spoken to in that manner. I felt very bullied and that I was a stupid Woman that knew nothing about this car. He actually told me I was stupid in buying this car for a teenage. I called him on it and that I felt verbally abused by just getting an estimate on what needs to happen on how to fix this car - he told me it would 1500.00. I really don't even think they popped the hood but that is to come? I hung up on him and he called back to apologize and said he is going through a difficult time - REALLY don't care I'm trying to give him business and find a solution to my problem - I don't want to know of his problems. Going to BBB next and nextdoor. DO NOT USE this awful place. In the end my Husband who is just writing this off as a bad experience wrote them a check for 110.00 for nothing done - We now have a the broken car back in front of house to start over again. This was HANDS DOWN the most HORRIBLE experience I have ever had with any business or mechanic in my life. Greg Gordon, the owner, was verbally abusive, dishonest and unethical through the whole experience. I became too intimidated to even call or ask a question while my car was there, because this owner would rage at me and threaten to not fix my car and tell me if I didn't like it, come and get it! As a single Mom and business owner with one car, he knew he had me between a rock and a hard place. He changed the price, the promised time-frame, and then made his employees lie to me by telling me my car was finally ready, allowing me to be dropped off there, and THEN telling me I had a dangerous suspension issue that they did not even call and offer to fix. I brought it there for a dangerous suspension issue, relied on them to confirm that through assessment, and then was stranded there and had to drive away with a dangerous for the car repair undone. This was after renting a car, rearranging two days of business appointments, and an owner that didn't even have the "you know what" to face me and explain. I felt so sorry for Jose and the guys that work for him, they were clearly embarrassed, and said they had been instructed to call me and say the car was ready, and not to mention the other problem until I arrived. They also had to tell me that they didn't know if he was even there. When I spotted owner Greg Gordon in the warehouse after all, and asked to speak with him, he walked away and hid in an office until I finally had to leave. They also didn't show me the receipt until they took my credit card number, and it was almost 1400.00 for an after-market strut, when the Mercedes dealership had quoted barely over that for the factory part. I had been told a much lower price. I would strongly urge anyone to NEVER go there, especially women who are not car-savvy that he knows he can get away with whatever he wants. I left yesterday with it and my same car is in now with the reputable mechanic that did the same repair on the other side in April. He originally didn't have time, but felt so badly for what had happened to me that he made the time. Next time I will wait! read more

Once again Greg and his crew at AutoWerks East have performed above and beyond. I'm about to leave town on a 3,000 mile, 2 week trip in my mature Porsche Boxster and had a few things I wanted done and/or checked before leaving town. They went over my car with a fine toothed comb, suggested a couple of items to add to my list and then got it all done in plenty of time before I needed to leave. Greg and his staff took such great care of me with my 2009 Cayman S. He did a great job on a 6 year service and new michelin pilot tires. He also helped me with the buyer of the car with a pre buy inspection and telling the buyer how well maintained my car is. Such a great place to bring my car. I have been taking my Mercedes to Greg for 3 years and he is always so responsive, professional and kind. Prices can be so steap for maintanence on Mercedes yet even when I call around (for breaks for instance), his prices are always spot on. No overcharging like the dealership.
