He will charge dealer prices for guesswork, and refuse to admit any fault. After bringing in my Lexus for electrical work and explaining that the P0713 code was most likely caused by a short in the transmission temp sensor harness he conducted a 10 minute "diagnostic" consisting of plugging in an OBD scanner and looking at the transmission temperature (which was at a perfectly normal 220 Fahrenheit after driving up the mountain he insisted I had to go up to get a reading). He then recommended a transmission fluid service because "most cars never get their fluid serviced" and my car had "never been serviced in the lifetime of the vehicle" (I found out a week after it had been serviced less then a thousand miles before). Trusting an alleged professional I authorized the service, and overpaid $663.30 for a (not complete fluid) drain and fill and filter replacement. After the code came back less then 2 hours later I reached out and was told to come back to the shop so he could have another look. After taking another look at his OBD scanner he told me that the harness was shorted and would need to be replaced for $1,200. After asking if we could work out a deal to lower the cost he got immediately defensive, and refused to cooperate to any degree. Instead he opted to throw a tantrum unbefitting of any grown man, cursing, screaming, and insisting that statements he made were fabricated by me to belittle his work. After yelling over me for around 30 minutes on the phone and refusing to hear anything I had to say he decided to end his hissy fit by hanging up in the middle of my sentence. I then took it to MM Repair in Lehi, and paid $558.00 for a new temperature sensor, new harness, new gasket, and a new filter. Oh, and it was done in half of a day with no issues whatsoever. If you want to pay specialist prices to deal with a grown man who has the emotional restraint of a toddler and the mechanical knowledge of a highschooler with YouTube Premium I wholeheartedly recommend Boss Automotive.

EDIT / UPDATE: Changing my rating to 5 stars strictly…read morebecause of the General Manager, David Smith. After a very frustrating experience with staff on the floor, David personally stepped in, stood behind his word, and made everything completely right. He operates with total integrity, and I would gladly do business with him directly anytime. That said, my advice to anyone visiting this dealership is to steer clear of Swan. Swan was rude, degrading, and completely lacking in basic customer service. Dealerships live or die by their reputation, and management like David is the only reason this location retains my trust. If you go here, deal directly with David Smith--he is an outstanding GM who actually cares about doing right by his customers. ORIGINAL 1-STAR REVIEW: Save yourself the stress: Bait-and-switch pricing, unfulfilled promises, and useless service scheduling. I will never buy another vehicle from Doug Smith Kia, nor do I recommend them to anyone looking for honesty or reliable service. Deceptive Pricing & Undelivered Add-ons on New Purchases I came in to buy a 2025 Kia Telluride expecting to take advantage of their advertised $5,000 off MSRP and 0% financing deal. Instead, I experienced a complete bait-and-switch. They refused to honor the full $5,000 discount (only giving $2,500) and jacked my interest rate up to over 6%. To make matters worse, I explicitly negotiated interior and exterior ceramic coating into my deal. When I took delivery, I asked if the coating was applied, and the salesman shrugged with a vague, "I think so." I later confirmed it was never applied to the inside or outside of the vehicle. They simply threw it through a car wash and called it good. Selling Defective Used Vehicles & Zero Service Availability I also purchased a 2017 Honda HR-V for my son after being repeatedly assured by sales that the vehicle was in "perfect condition." Just two days after driving it off the lot, I found oil leaking directly onto my driveway. When I called their service department to get it looked at under warranty, they refused to take it in for nearly three weeks (October 5th). So now a car I just bought has to sit unusable in my driveway while it actively leaks fluid. Broken Service Scheduling Do not fall for their claims of an "Express Lane." If you need routine maintenance or an oil change, there is no such thing as same-day service. You have to book weeks in advance just for basic care, making their service center completely inconvenient and essentially useless if an urgent mechanical issue pops up. Doug Smith Kia relies on pushy sales tactics, false advertising, and terrible post-sale support. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere.
