I wanted to add a recent review since most are 1year or more. I've had consistently accurate and reliable service done for my older car for over 4 years now. I recently had some costly repairs done, the prices were comparable to other places. An out of town mechanic put aftermarket alternator on my vehicle a few years ago, and unfortunately it was not compatible, and the only warranty offered was for another aftermarket part, which was unacceptable. These mechanics know what is needed and make the right decisions for your specific car. I had no other issues with the alternator, and am confident that the recent replacement part of the crankshaft and its components will be reliable as well. Our truck also gets serviced and repaired at Autotech, and no problems. A loaner was provided at no cost, and they have provided transportation when needed as well. I recommend this business often because I've never had any problems. read more

I just moved here from CA, and I have to say that Autotech was a refreshing first encounter with auto care in MO. No one wants to deal with a car that won't start, but these people made it much more bearable. Turns out it was just a fuse and, since I'd just driven over 2000 miles in 4 days, when they recommended an oil change, I went with that too. I'm writing this as a response to my more recent experiences with them. When we first moved here 12 years ago Autotech was an amazing place that I had felt I could trust what they were telling me and the pricing seemed reasonable compared to the other shops I've had to deal with. 5 stars easy as they also would drive you home if you wanted to leave your car for the day. My experience now is just ...frustrating. The people at the desk are always really friendly but even just going in for an oil change gets you a list of things that are being sold as needed or needed very soon. I'm lucky enough to have someone in my life that can kinda weed through the list and guide me through the "recommendations ". It's created a situation with them where I know they will do good work (at an incredibly inflated price). But I just don't know if I can trust I'm not going to be hit with something else they think needs to be done. This all came to a head a few months ago when I brought my Equinox in after it had finally died. They've been the main place to take care of the car for the full 12 years we've been out here. We were told that the car was shot and needed a new engine that would be like $1000 dollars plus the crazy labor costs etc, etc. We thought well that's it gotta get a new car because the value of the car was well under what the final estimate was going to be which I think was close to 5 grand. Our situation was though we weren't quite ready to purchase a new car and couldn't just pay that to fix it. Through a series of events the Equinox made its way to an independent shop with very high ratings, with 1 mechanic who was able to do the job for quite a bit cheaper. First thing he says is who told you you need a new engine?! He basically did a clean out and a fan belt part on it I think and we are still driving the equinox today. He could've easily just done the job, made more money and not said anything but he said he doesn't do business that way. The price gouging with all these shops seems out of control, we have to have our cars to get around and they know it. Anyway I really just needed to get this out there because I have hopes that autotech will return to a higher standard than most shops are at. We currently refuse to bring our four cars there anymore. read more

I have followed the owner from his last shop off Dorsett. His crew and team have excellent customer service, and make you feel like family. Which makes me feel safe from that worry that these auto shops are taking you for a ride. My 07' Hummer has been getting preventative maintenance with these guys for several years now, and she's still a beast! read more

It's a great place to go to if you want more stress in your life. They charged me $150.00 just to run diagnostics when it's free at most places. Then wanted to charge $750.00 just for repairing some bulbs ($5.00 at Walmart), ignition coil and spark plugs ($90.00 for a pack for both of them on Amazon). It's total bs, so I said screw it I'll fix it myself, which ended up only costing $95.00 before taxes. They're 100% after your money especially if they're charging for diagnostics. Also that's another thing who's ever reading this I'd advise you to invest in a diagnostic reader ($39.00 at AutoZone). read more

We have been bringing all our 3 cars to Auto Tech for over 15 years ( actually under the prior ownership). Up until this recent visit I felt respected and that my business was valued. However, when I first called and referenced that the clutch on the 2010 Nissan should be under warranty I was treated rather brusquemy/ rudely about the fact that if they found the clutch had in any way been abused the warranty was voided. First of all, the same driver drove that car for years/50-60 thousand miles with no issues. Second of all, I took it to Len's auto repair and they diagnosed that your original clutch work was faulty and caused the leakage all over the underside of the car. I didn't mention this because I didn't want any more rudeness. I will tell you that I won't be bringing any of our business back to you - or my father's car which he does business with you too. I expect warranty work to be handled politely and professionally and it definitely was not. I will be taking my cars to Christian Brothers or Lens from here on unless the clutch goes out again under warranty and then I'll be bringing it right back to you. read more

From the second Nick answered the phone, he was polite and professional, not to mention, it was like talking with someone I have known all my life. I was looking to get new tires for my Honda Accord, and after lots of research, Nick was extremely helpful, in helping me decide what tires were the best for me and the Accord.
