I appreciate the service. They also give you text updates on your vehicle as you're waiting so you know what's going on. While I was there, there was a family with an RV that was getting a new tire. They were from out of town and asked if they could plug in their RV in the back of the building. Otherwise they were gonna have to completely empty out the refrigerator so their food didn't spoil. It appears they're opening a lot more stores so they seem to be very close to wherever you live in the St. Louis area, which is convenient. You can make your appointments online and pick the time and date you want very flexible. When I purchased my tires in February, I had prepared financing ahead of time purchased them online made my appointment went in quickly installed, and was out the door. I told the young man that my tire was leaking based on the alert on my dashboard. He offered me a seat and went about checking the tires. He said they would find the problem and let me know. A little later he advised that my tire had a metal shard in it and they were able to fix it. I asked the cost and he said, "No charge." If they are able to fix the tire, they don't charge; they only ask that you patronize them the next time you need tires. I was escorted to my car which was delivered near the entrance and drove home completely satisfied with this encounter. What a great business model.

I took my car to another local repair shop I always went to and trusted, they were bought out…read morerecently. They quoted all kinds of things to fix, some I believed, some were outright lies! One lie was that the battery needed to be replaced and they would happily do that for $425, yeah, I bet you would! The problem was THEY had just replaced the battery 14 months earlier (much cheaper then) when the shop was under different ownership and it had a 4 or 5-year warranty! Immediately I was suspicious. They also said I needed a brake job, alignment, motor mounts, and a new power steering pump. The power steering pump was quoted at over $2000 total, the labor alone was quoted at about $1500! How many hours or days does this one job take to justify $1500? I am no expert, but it would seem they probably get around $150 per hour, but certainly not more than $175, so $1500 would mean 8- 10 hours! I looked up how long the job takes online for my car and found it can take about 3.5 hours, and an experienced mechanic can do it in just over an hour or two so not sure what that place is doing. After doing my own research I knew I had to go somewhere else. I knew the brakes and the power steering needed to be addressed so I called Plaza. I spoke to Justin who was extremely helpful and professional and made an appointment for the next day and dropped the car the evening before. I asked them to do the brakes and alignment after getting a quote. I also requested that, if at all possible, to have my car finished by 3 pm, they called at 2 pm and it was ready! They did the brakes and alignment for quite a bit less than the other shop quoted, checked my battery which it turns out is fine, and gave me a quote to fix the power steering that was a FULL $800 cheaper (parts and labor) than the other shop quoted and that is without the coupon online. I will be calling Plaza in a few months to do the power steering pump. I think I have found my new car repair shop!

I would not recommend this location to anyone. I went in to get my front left tire replaced due to…read morea bubble on the sidewall. Instead, they replaced the front right tire because of a mistake in how the front desk entered the work order. That's fine--mistakes happen. However, when they brought me into the back to talk to the technician, he stated, word for word, that there was a bubble near the valve stem on the front right tire, which is why it was replaced. I regularly inspect my tires after hitting potholes, especially because I have low-profile tires. I told the manager that if there truly was an issue near the valve stem, there should be no problem taking a reference photo by putting the tire back on the rim and airing it up. There turned out to be no issue with the front right tire after doing this. At that point, I had a new tire installed on the front right, and they had moved my previously good-condition front right tire to the front left. All seemed well--so I thought. The first day I drove to work the following week (the first time I reached highway speeds since the service), my steering wheel started shaking. When I got to work, I checked and found that they had completely removed all the balance weights from both of my front rims and hadn't rebalanced the tires. During my initial visit, I had clearly told them that I had an alignment, balance, and rotation done just a month prior. This was my first and last experience with Plaza on West Clay Street in St. Charles. You can't rely on them to get it right the first, second, or even third time. Please, please, please make sure you understand your vehicle well so you don't get taken advantage of by the dishonest people at this West Clay location.
