My experience with Autostart was extremely disappointing. The only reason I chose this company was because of their excellent online reviews. From the moment I first contacted them for a quote, Demetri Valerga reached out to me very actively every day, which led me to sign the contract on Thursday. I clearly explained my situation and schedule, and I understood that my vehicle would be picked up on 4/13. At no point did Demetri mention that the pickup date could be delayed. However, by Saturday morning, I had received no updates at all. When I called the office, I was simply told that a carrier had not yet been assigned. I followed up again on Monday afternoon via email and phone, and Demetri responded by saying he had just started work at 11 AM and would get back to me after replying to all his emails and texts from Sunday. His tone was extremely rude--completely different from when he was eager to secure my contract. Once they had my payment, the level of professionalism dropped significantly. I contacted the office again after 5 PM on Monday, only to hear the same response: no carrier had been assigned yet. Then on Tuesday, I received an email stating that it would take several more days to find a carrier. When I expressed my disappointment and pointed out that I had never been properly informed of these possibilities from the beginning, Demetri claimed that he had never promised a pickup date. I found this response very unprofessional. At that point, I no longer wanted to use this company. The communication was poor, the expectations were not clearly explained, and the representative I dealt with was extremely rude. In addition, the refund policy was never clearly explained at the time I made the payment. I understand the company may claim that I agreed to the contract terms, but I was never provided with a copy of the contract I supposedly signed. Even if I am unable to receive a refund, I still want to cancel the contract. I see no reason to continue doing business with a company that treats customers this way. Do not use this company! What a scam. We signed a contract one month in advance. We had airline tickets on a Friday. On Monday they called and said they had a carrier for Tuesday. We said would it be possible to pick up Wednesday or Thursday. On Tuesday we got a call saying that the carrier would pick up the cars on Thursday at 6pm. We said that's perfect. Then on Thursday they said carrier cancelled. They did not find another carrier, therefore we had to cancel our driver to the airport, cancel our flight and drive our cars to Florida from North Carolina. I spoke with autostar about a vehicle i bought and wanted to return it as soon as possibl, I had a 3 day grace period for return on the vehicle 125 miles away, he told me it would be a day maybe 2 to book right away to get it started and I would hear something that evening (yesterday) so I did, anoher transport business actually explained the process to me, and being my area, Joshua tree ca, far from everything, that it possibly take 4-5 days before a pickup in my area, I called autostar back, they told me I could not get my refund back $185,and at that time there was no information as far as pickup, there was no carrier assigned, for no inconvenience to anyone on their end, to keep that much money is crazy, this is now the next mornin, I had no choice but to get a tow truck compan, being that's what I should have done in the first place, being a single senior, I had no idea what to do, I did not read the reviews before I booked the appointmen, which it does state deposit not refundable, but I also believe when I spoke with the person they were not honest about the pick up, knowing that people don't get the refund back, I can only imagine how much money they make this way, mind you I cancelled in less than 24hrs, I feel I was lied to just so I would book it, sad, I will always read terms from now on, you can't believe what people tell you on the phone, very deceiving read more

UPDATE #3 Given no call back from Juan at AutoStar ever, I filed a claim with my insurance company. As I thought all of this was finally going to turn around, we had the same insurance company and I felt this would be a closed case. However, as luck would have it, the carrier's AL1990 (Artur Lopukha) insurance was not current with AutoStar nor did they confirm AL1990 even had insurance. The insurance company AutoStar had on file, obviously would not pay and with communications between AL1990 and the insurance company, they again admitted fault but would only pay the estimate and not the actual damage costs, which was $100 more than the estimate. So, once I get more details I will gladly post updates but for now AutoStar and AL1990 have failed me as a customer. Buyer beware if you do business with them. Well, so the saga continues. They are great at communicating up until they get your signature and deposit and then they go radio silent, stop answering phone calls, voicemails or text messages. My car was verbally promised to be picked up February 23-25th, Sean Hancock of Autostar did not communicate to me throughout that period that there was a problem with the contracted shipping company. I had a flight to leave the state to move across the country the afternoon of the 27th, the pickup did not arrive until after I had arrived in the new state!! Before you book, please make sure the Zelle or the business account that you are sending money to match the business name. Make sure it says AutoStar Transport Express and not a different company name so when you dispute it there won't be a hassle. The Zelle account they used says EXPERIENCED AUTO TRANSPORT LLC or they will try to put it under a different company's name. Also make sure the business name and contact information on the order/contract they email you matches the company's name as well. Make sure everything says AutoStar Transport Express and the number/email matches the number/email on the website so when it's time to dispute, they can't say "Oh that was with a different company it's not our company you booked with". They used US CAR TRANSPORTATION on the contract instead of AutoStar Transport Express and usautotransport.us for the website when that's not their real website. The number on the fake form is also 1-800-768-8130 with the address being in Dallas Texas. US CAR TRANSPORTATION DOES NOT EXIST!!! If you google US CAR TRANSPORT With the address being in Dallas Texas it's not on google with any reviews. There is a US AUTO TRANSPORT in Texas on google with THE SAME REVIEWS of not refunding customers their money. This is their other business they filed an LLC under. They use AUTOSTAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS to book you and then in the end say you booked with US CAR TRANSPORT OR US AUTO TRANSPORT then say you're not an existing customer of theirs. To Whom It May Concern, my name is Mark Smith. I am writing this review to strongly recommend to not use AutoStar for your vehicle hauling needs. First, I want to say the company's transport coordinator, Sofia, was very nice to deal with; however, this company is deceitful in how it does business. If you are like me, you call around to different vehicle haulers to see what the price would be, and if they can accommodate your timeframe. I did this and was quoted prices of around $1,500 by many companies. I called Autostar, and they told me the cost would be $1,245. In comparison, I thought this was a great price, and Sofia appeared truthful when she said this price was firm. We were sent a contract, which we signed. The contract indicated the total price would be $1,245. The hard date of transport of our car across the country was coming up. Therefore, I contacted AutoStar/Sofia to confirm that our car would be ready to go on the agreed-upon transport date. For work purposes, I had to have the car on this agreed delivery date. I was told by AutoStar they were having difficulty finding an available hauler. I had contacted AutoStar months before the transport date, so there was ample time to schedule a hard delivery date for my vehicle. I again stated I HAD to have my car by the agreed upon date due to my job. A week before the needed transport date, AutoStar/Sofia called me and said she had a hauler available. However, my cost would be $1,745; $500 more than the agreed upon contracted price. They told me the contract stated the price could change at any time. They also told me I could use another company if I wanted. I literally had no choice but to use AutoStar because I could never find a hauler on such short notice. So, for anyone interested in using AutoStar, I recommend not doing it. They will tell you whatever price you need to hear to get your business, fully knowing that they will change the price right before your needed transport date. Again, based on general honest business practice, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT use Autostar for your hauling needs. Had one of my worst experiences with this company, I had a date preset and I understand things can change but I had it ready on the 4th and they did not pick it up till the 12th. When I finally inquired to the driver about drive time I was actually dealing with a translator for the driver!!!! I was told multiple dates and they kept on moving forward with no explanation till I had to make a fuss and the person whom I booked with(Chris) had someone else reach out to me because they know they effed up. Siting weather and traffic and never letting me know when these things. I had to rent a car for so long because they took so long it cost more to rent a car then ship it. Booked for the 4th they said 6th then 8th 9th and then finally on the 12 when I had been at my destination for a week already. Leading up to the booked day, we received no contact of time for pickup. Even when we called, no exact confirmation. We called these folks and specifically asked whether they would be able to pick up a vehicle on a _specific_ day. We were assured that this would be no problem, and were encouraged to sign the contract immediately, under the pretense of "providing additional time to ensure on-time pickup". We heard nothing for 2 weeks, and began to send emails and call within days of the scheduled pick-up-date. There was no response, until the day _after_ the agreed pickup date. When they did schedule a transport, it was a carrier with a pending DOT insurance cancellation. We had no choice to re-book on the spot, in order to make our flight and get the vehicle on a carrier that was not flagged by DOT. They then made an unauthorized charge of an additional $50 on our card, and refused to return the deposit. Subsequently, there was of course no response. We are disputing charges and contacting Federal and State agencies now to try to warn off others and recover our costs. Reading the reviews, as we expected - making verbal agreements and not keeping them, seems to be part of their SOP. As far as I am concerned, and in both applicable states, verbal agreements are binding. Beware that you may be being defrauded and get everything they tell you in writing, before hiring these people. Well, I got my car shipped from CT to MI. It was the cheapest offer, at ~ $650. Guess you get what you pay for? - I was told they pickup within a 3 day window, then later told it was 5 days. - the pickup was 6 hours late. I was told they'd pick up at 2, the driver didn't show until 830. - Communication between the dispatcher and the driver is AWFUL. My car was supposed to arrive Wednesday at noon, it arrived Thursday at 4 PM. No communication in between those times, I had to pay for the subscription through my Nissan app to track my car since I wasn't getting answers from Autostar. I mentioned I was going to report it stolen, no sense of urgency whatsoever. Still didn't get a call from the driver until he was 30 minutes out. My Autostar rep I was assigned to never reached out via call, just a simple "hey, call me" text. - The dispatcher called me while I was driving to MI, and told me that they found a driver but I would now owe Autostar another $25, and deduct $25 from the drivers pay. No explanation why, however told me she tried running my card before the call and it didn't go through (I changed banks) Bottom line, go with someone else. As someone in the military I'm moving every 3 years and will need to ship 1, if not 2 cars. I'm not using Autostar again. Worst experience ever. Car was picked up on a Tuesday and said it would be delivered one day later. We received it 6 days later, after lapses of communication and promises of it being there "later that day" numerous times. Uber rides added up during the time where we had no idea when our car was, and if it had been communicated that the car would be 5 days late, we would have rented a car. Auto star completed my car move from West coast to the Midwest within the time frame and for the amount agreed to. However, the transport driver offloaded MY car at a stop in Denver and used it for his personal use. He did not have permission NOR did he ask! When I showed the driver the odometer at pick up and drop off there was an additional 60 miles! He also took a McDonald's gift card that I put in console for my son... ( denied but come on, moms like to surprise their kids so I know it was taken !!) He said he put the gas back in the car ..... like that was compensation for using my car without permission- I asked for $ 100 refund and never heard a word back. STAY AWAY FROM AUTO STAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS! I contracted AutoStar Transport Express to transport my 2024 Jeep Wrangler from Michigan to California on August 22nd. The first available pickup day was August 27th, and I expected the vehicle to be picked up within a day or two. However, the entire experience was a nightmare from the start. After four days of silence, I reached out to the company on August 26th, only to be ignored. I followed up again on August 29th and finally received a response from their representative, Max Montalvo, who vaguely assured me that he was "doing a thorough search for drivers in the area" and would notify me when one was found. His response was frustratingly inadequate, and I had to request updates FOUR more times, only to receive the same unhelpful reply: "Sorry, we are still searching." This lack of transparency and proactive communication was completely unacceptable. Instead of keeping me informed, they left me in the dark, forcing me to chase them for information. When I eventually spoke with a so-called "supervisor" named "Juan," he offered no real solution, simply stating that "88% of our vehicles are picked up in 2-3 days and yours is taking longer." Given this delay, I expected them to be more proactive in securing transportation instead of passively leaving it out for a bid. I chose AutoStar because it's a veteran-owned company, and as a veteran myself, that was a key factor in my decision. Unfortunately, they utterly failed to deliver on their promises. Their lower rate may have seemed attractive, but it became glaringly obvious that they underbid the contract, leading to their complete inability to fulfill their obligations. Frustrated and out of patience, I took it upon myself to find transportation. Within five hours, I had a confirmed driver who was set to pick up my Jeep within three days--something AutoStar couldn't manage in over a week. It's absolutely shameful for a company to lowball a bid to attract business, only to lack the knowledge, ability, or consideration to actually provide the service. Max and Juan were both inept and ineffective in their roles, lacking even basic customer service skills. They should be counseled for their poor performance. I strongly urge the company's owner to review their shipments and customer feedback. Perhaps their employees are "working" from home with priorities that don't include providing service to paying customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!! Then they tell it to put a deposit down of $250, that they'll get a truck to transport your vehicle in approximately a week. A week passes and the story is that they can't locate a transport for the quoted price and that they may have to increase the estimate by a few hundred. Then another week passes and they are still looking for a truck. Then three weeks later and they are still looking but guaranteed that the estimate is for sure a few hundred more but still no truck. I then cancel after waiting approximately three weeks and want to get my deposit refunded. Noah indicates a refund will be processed. Days go by and no refund. I called the 3rd day to find out if they have a driver and they did not have anybody yet. I asked them that if the car can not be delivered in the next 2 days, to cancel my order. After the 6th day they still did not have any driver, so I asked them to cancel the service, this was over the phone. I still got charged $195.00, I asked to get a refund and they refuse to do it, stating that they do not have proof of me cancelling the service.
