Shipped our college kiddo his car from Los Angeles to Atlanta. It isn't a priceless antique or super high-end car - just a fuel-efficient, reliable Chevy that we needed to get from Point A to Point B safely. Communication: Robert's email communications were nearly instantaneous. He made it clear they wanted our business from the start but wasn't pushy as we went through the process of vetting potential carriers. Payment: Honestly I was kind of put off by the fact that I couldn't just put everything on a credit card - I steer clear of cash whenever I can. But the down payment went on credit card with a cash/cahsier's check/Zelle payment for the balance at delivery - it's how they roll. The price quoted was all in - no surprises, and I appreciated that. Reviews: There are a lot of shippers out there. We compared tons of reviews and decided to go with Silver Express. It says a lot about a company when they have pages and pages of 5-star reviews over several years' time hidden by Yelp. Other transporters' hidden reviews included 6+ pages of 1-star reviews. Interesting to see which of those show up as sponsored results on Yelp - probably just a coincidence, though. Our Shipping Experience: They got a transport to pick up our car a mere 17 hours after we decided to book with them. The transporter came 10 minutes early before the 2-hour window for the pickup even began and delivered the car a full day ahead of schedule. All for a fair price. Bottom Line: We're so glad we went with Silver Express. Our son is thrilled to have his car on campus and we've got a great, dependable vendor should we ever need to ship again. I've worked twice now with Robert Martin at Silver Express Logistics, and have been so happy both times. First was shipping a used car from CA to NY; second was shipping a small sailboat (!) from WA to NY on a car transport. I had had little experience with shippers/brokers, and the first time honestly was wary about whether my car would get here & in what condition. However, Robert was terrific about communication, told me what to expect, and lo and behold, he was exactly right. I reached out to him again several years later about the complicated matter of getting a small boat from WA to NY, and he responded to me within a minute or two and was on the case. The boat arrived in great condition though it was on an open transport, and only took 4 days to get cross country. This time, I had no qualms about it; I knew Robert would handle everything beautifully, and he did. Honestly probably wouldn't have even bought a boat that lived across the country had I not had Robert on my side, as the shipping would've been so iffy and unreliable! read more

I called Silver Express Logistics and let them know I was nervous as I previously had a bad experience with another company, they stole $200 "deposit" & never showed up. Robert assured me they don't take any $ upfront. Process was clear. Once the car is picked up he collects $150 via CC, then upon delivery of the vehicle, payment is expected. Dispatch called me gave me the drivers number. Called me again on Friday to let me know dispatch would be closed over the weekend but the driver would keep in contact, and happened exactly. Driver was honest telling me he couldn't make it up the road with his trailer to leave the car in a secure spot, as soon as he arrived he took a picture of the vehicle and then took a picture of the loaded vehicle to make me feel comfortable. We contacted Silver Express after our dad used them previously to transport his vehicles. Robert was extremely reliable and responsive--even on Memorial Day! We transported our car from Arizona to North Carolina and it took about seven days. There was a bit of confusion with the driver--but after calling Robert, we learned he blew a tire. The driver ended up picking up the car from my parents house and they said he did a great job taking pictures and video of the car prior to loading it. I hired Silver Express Logistics to ship a 1994 Toyota Pickup (in pristine condition) from Pasadena TX to Northwest Connecticut. I am very satisfied with the entire process from beginning to end. I signed the contract and paid the brokers fee on July 7, 2020. Silver Express Logistics found a shipping carrier to do the job for $75 less than the original quote. The vehicle was picked up on July 10th, shipped 1800+ miles, and delivered on July 12th. Robert Martin, the owner of Silver Express Logistics, was very personable and did a fine job of explaining the ins and outs of hiring a shipping company. He also explained to me that due to the new level of Covid-19 scare (July 2020), there might be a delay of up to 2 weeks in finding a shipping carrier. Apparently unforeseen complications had arisen due to regulations changing. Despite that, Robert was able to quickly secure a shipping carrier company for me and I received my truck much faster than expected. About Researching Shipping Companies Prior to hiring Silver Express Logistics, I did a lot of research on different shipping companies. I checked shipping company reviews on Yelp, Better Business Bureau, transportreviews.com, and RipoffReport.com. I asked several different shipping companies about the disparity between rating levels on different sites and was told that some review sites manipulate the reviews in the companies favor if they pay a yearly fee. I'm not sure if this is true but it would certainly explain why a company may not have consistent ratings across the different review sites. About The Shipping Company Process To help those who may be unaware, when you call a shipping company, most if not all, are "brokers" and not the "shipping carrier" themselves. The shipping broker posts your shipping job and waits for a shipping carrier that will be traveling near your location to respond and bid on your job. Once a shipping carrier is selected by the broker, and your vehicle or items have been picked up, the broker is no longer in control of your item(s). From that point forward, you communicate with the shipping carrier company. In my case, this was an easy and painless process. When doing my initial research and reading many different company reviews on different review sites, it became clear that most folks don't understand how the shipping company "broker" and shipping carrier relationship works. Consequently, they seem to feel cheated and lied to and make claims that shipping brokers are scam artists. While there is a potential for this in any industry, it was not my personal experience. Simply put, the shipping company / broker you select will find the best shipping carrier traveling near your location to ship and deliver your item(s). Since I understood this before hiring Silver Express Logistics, there were no surprises. For me, the broker/carrier relationship and process makes complete sense... brokers do the leg work in securing a shipping carrier for you and shipping carriers buy and maintain their trucks and do the actual shipping. Details About My Shipment Experience My vehicle was shipped in an enclosed carrier and arrived on time and in perfect condition. Communication with the shipping carrier company was easy. The 2 different people I spoke with were helpful and provided me with the drivers cell number. I texted the driver only once to inquire about estimated delivery day/time, he responded back within a reasonable time frame. I did not expect an immediate response back considering he was driving and would need to wait until he made a stop to respond. Details About My Vehicle Delivery Though the driver did not have a good command of the English language, we did use google translate and were able to understand each other just fine. I inspected my new truck upon arrival and it was in perfect condition. I paid the driver the remaining balance that was due. I tipped him for a job well done and he was on his way. Overall, it was a very fast and easy exchange. As one would expect during an 1800+ mile trip in an enclosed carrier, there was a very fine, barely noticeable, film of road dust. There is no way to avoid that even in an enclosed shipping carrier, short of wrapping your vehicle in plastic, because no shipping carrier is air-tight. A simple rinse easily took care of the fine film of road dust and gave me a chance to bond with my new truck. Absolutely incredible service!! We had a horrible experience with a different car shipper (perhaps a scam, perhaps someone horrible at his job giving us the run around). Time ran out and we needed the car shipped, and were not in a trusting mood. Called Robert and OMG what a difference it made. We scheduled everything frantically on Tuesday, first phone call at 8am - Robert immediately told me straight up what the situation was, said he'd make some calls, and called back with the next answer in 30 minutes. Had everything finalized by 12!! He had a truck in the location today, and he would make it work. If that didnt work, just let him know and he'll make something else work. Once the carrier was booked, we got contact info and communication with carrier company (LVIV transport) was also amazing - immediate, thorough, and consistent. Someone else mentioned it seems like Robert vets the carriers - this seems totally true. Car was picked up (we got a 24hr heads up from the carrier, and then a day of heads up with a 30 minute window) no problem. Delivery was just as easy. Dispatch told us it was arriving ahead of schedule, but then updated a few hours later when the truck didnt make it as far as planned. Ultimately, the car was delivered exactly on the date in the initial contract. Could not be happier!! Price was very competitive and Robert really just gets it done. No runaround, just transport. Robert has shipped two of my cars from LA to Dallas, three years apart from each other. Same great service both times, beginning to end. Quick to respond to emails, and makes everything super easy. Just the right amount of involvement - takes care of everything, but never pesters. I also have done some calling around, and every other place I called had higher prices, with people that seemed kind of shady. So why would I bother going anywhere else? I can't thank Silver Express Logistics enough. A friend recommended Robert so I gave him a call for a rather short notice transport of a classic car from MA to CA. I let Robert know I wasn't 100% positive if I was buying the car until I saw it in person the following Tuesday. Robert said a driver would be in the area until Wednesday and to let him know if the deal went through. I flew in and saw the car on Tuesday and let Robert know I was buying it the next morning. Robert lined up the transport and the driver arrived a few hours within me buying the car. The enclosed truck was awesome and the driver Oleg was outstanding. The driver understood my concerns if my car had to be moved around during the transport so he put mine on top in front and assured me it would not move until it reached my house. I had concerns due to a recent transport with a different carrier in which my 1970 Plymouth Cuda I just sold was wrecked during transport to it's new owner. The driver addressed my concerns and made me feel very comfortable with the transport. I was kept appraised of when the driver would arrive in my State and he actually arrived a day early, giving me updates of what time he would arrive at my house. He backed into my court right in front of my house and the car was right where it was when it left MA. The driver unloaded my car and made sure I was happy. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what Robert and Silver Express Logistics did for me. He lined up a quality driver and truck on short notice, got the pickup arranged soon after I bought the car, not to mention his prices were super competitive and lower than many competitors. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm sure my experience of a short notice transport is a rarity in the business because everything needs to be scheduled, but Robert worked his magic and everything fell in place with my transport needs. I give Silver Express Logistics and Robert 10 stars! For any of my future transports Silver Express Logistics will be the only transport company I will use. As opposed to other reviewers, I did not have a positive experience with Silver Express Logistics. I selected this business based on its favorable reviews. However, the company that Silver Express Logistics hired to transport my car was not at the same level. Communication became an issue, beginning with the email I received from Silver Express Logistics which had the wrong phone number of the dispatcher who was away on vacation. From that point, it went downhill. Less than 24 hours from the time I was supposed to meet the driver, I still had not received a confirmation. When I called back Silver Express Logistics to express my concerns, the representative was rude and dismissive. He told me that the driver or dispatcher would be in touch and that I needed to trust that everyone would do their jobs. This phone call came on the day when my family and I were moving. The negative tone of the conversation intensified the stress. I never did hear back from the driver or dispatcher that evening or the next morning when they were supposed to pick up the car. As a result, I had to email Silver Express Logistics again. Fortunately, once I did meet the driver, everything went smoothly, and the car arrived at its destination in good, solid condition. After the move, I received an email from Silver Express Logistics, asking if I had a good experience. If so, would I leave them a positive online review? I received multiple email reminders to this effect. Quite honestly, I felt like the company was manipulating the process. If the SEL representative had shown the same concern about my experience at the time he was moving my car, I would have given his company a more favorable rating. read more
