After 2 days of hours upon hours of badgering from over a dozen brokers (I thought I was entering my info into a carrier search), research on the process of obtaining auto transport services, combing through ratings/reviews of many different brokerages and trying to dodge shady brokers, I reached out to the salesman who sold me the car for help. He didn't hesitate - a testament to his trust in Larry Levinson to provide extremely efficient, honest auto transport brokerage service. I couldn't have been happier. I FINALLY received an honest breakdown of how the auto transport booking process works (and in an informative method even I could understand - my RN/biological sciences inclined brain did not easily understand transportation logistics). Larry's transparency was such a relief. He helped me understand the 'board' all auto transport brokers use to submit bids (on behalf of their clients) for auto transport services, and the many unscrupulous ways many auto transport brokers 'trick' clients into entering into contracts using deceptive tactics. Cautionary note - despite my never signing an authorization, 2 of the brokers that had provided me some of the cheaper quotes took it upon themselves to (illegally) place auto transport bids on my behalf, and they placed the bids significantly higher than the quotes I was given by them. I further learned (and it makes sense), a carrier is always going to go for the 'higher bid', so having more than one broker represent you is a bad idea, since the bid will likely continue to increase as they fight to be the one to get your auto transport request picked up. Keep in mind, if you sign an authorization with a broker/pay their deposit, they can provide you with whatever price a carrier accepted - despite how much higher it is than the initial quote they gave you to put down the deposit, since their initial quote is an 'estimate'. There are an unbelievable amount of extra fees they can inform you of when your bid is picked up (AFTER you have entered into their contract). You can deny the much higher (now confirmed) price, but you are out part of the money you initially put down ('broker fee'). Often the client is out the entire initially paid amount due to giving up on the stress/time required to get the 'deposit' portion of the fee returned. I also tried 'uship'. Every quote I received was from another shady broker, many of which led me to believe they are a carrier. I had to look them up online to determine they were actually brokers. I hope this helps understanding the auto transport booking process, and saves others A LOT of headache, stress, time and confusion. Those low quotes are not realistic - and the brokers that claim they can get you those prices are aware they can't. You can absolutely trust Larry to navigate the bidding process to strategically get the lowest possible price for the given transport time frame. I can't describe how thankful I was for the help/support I received from him. I had an ally with expertise in a field I was extremely ignorant of. He genuinely advocates for his clients. If there is concern my experience might not be the 'norm', it's common knowledge a car dealership's good reputation is of upmost priority (particularly given the 'bad rep' the car sales industry has. My sales representative would not utilize Larry's service, as well as recommend him to his clients, if Larry wasn't a man of his word, and good at what he does. read more

Bruce at Above the Rest was a pleasure to work with and very transparent with the entire process. I had a fairly tight window for the delivery and he found a company that could make it happen. Not an easy ask when transporting from Oregon to Florida. I've worked with several transport brokers in the past with mostly good outcomes, but Bruce is now at the top of my list. The best review I can give is that I will absolutely call Bruce if I need another car transported and I've recommended his services to friends & family. Thank you Bruce!! read more

I recently bought a beautiful BMW Z4 from a dealer in Chicago to be transported to the West Coast. I called and spoke with Bruce. I wasn't really sure how the process worked, and Bruce took the time to explain the process and the players. He stated his fee clearly, and did all he could to find a transporter to handle my car at the best price possible. I was able to relay to him any issues with the actual shipping company - he was always available and offered his assistance right away. The car was delivered undamaged and quickly (4 days), it was all I could ask for. I highly recommend using Bruce as your broker to get your transportation needs met. James. read more

Bruce was excellent and did his job well connecting us with a company to transport our car. He is highly responsive, professional, and communicative and I loved working with him. The only challenge I during this whole process was with the transport company themselves - they had agreed to a delivery period (after 8pm because my friend receiving my vehicle works full time) and the day before insisted my friend HAD to be available from 12-2pm to receive my car and they could not do any other time. They essentially forced my friend to take a day off - and on the day of delivery, the transport company kept running late and ended up delivering after 8pm anyway! That was really challenging for us working out receiving the car. read more

This is the 2nd time I've used "Above the Rest Auto Transport" in the last year and both times went off flawlessly. The quotes for both jobs were very reasonable. In fact, I would say that both were 50 to 60% of what other transport companies were quoting me. On both occasions the driver showed up when they were supposed to, were courteous, and took great care loading and unloading my 1966 Pontiac GTO. The best part of my experience was working with Bruce. The first time I contacted Bruce I was a little nervous, expecting someone gruff and terse. Bruce was so friendly and was genuinely interested in classic cars in general and in my GTO in particular that I was immediately put at ease when talking to him. He guided me through the entire process and left me feeling confident that I made the right choice with "Above the Rest Auto Transport"! read more

I needed to ship my Jeep across the country, and had NO IDEA where to even begin. I stumbled across Bruce's name and contact info in a Jeep forum with several accolades. I am SO GRATEFUL for Bruce, his patience, kindness, and knowledge of the industry. His reassurance helped to put my mind at ease. He was able to connect me with a reliable and affordable hauling company who delivered my Jeep to its new destination 1000 miles away. If you need to transport a vehicle, hands down, you need to call Bruce. I highly recommend him, and would call him again in a heartbeat if I needed to move my car across the country again. Exactly as the previous review on Bruce. Horrendous experience with other companies, utter waste of time, just trying to get a deposit and basically screw you. Now they are farming out to India and getting call center calls. I called Bruce, easy to reach, no BS and very clear instructions on how the systems work. A breath of fresh air. Now the real part. Gave an estimate based on previous transport., said one or two days. Very detailed. 15 minutes later, I have a driver and would like to patch him in with details. Company he patched in was just great, obviously professional. Gave all the details and Bruce checked insurance with the driver, another good sign. Furthermore, Bruce said use this app, do not send a full payment, send a $1 to make sure you have the correct address and details, driver confirmed that he received and so no stress when he arrives, again great planning. Every other worthless operation was a waste of time. Bruce was the exact opposite. When someone is picking up a vehicle you better be available to receive a call ! Rude, he was the total opposite. Paid his fee immediately, happy to when someone is completely straightforward and obvious why he has good reviews. The ones people are negative about he bothers to reply, enough said. read more

Wow this was such an easy experience. Bruce is very upfront about everything. Explained the whole process, and none of the bait and switch stuff I was hearing from other companies. Felt like I was in good hands from start to finish. Moved a car from Ohio to Florida - Pricing was fair and honest. Was quoted 800 for my specific vehicle type, and Bruce was actually able to get it lowered down to 700! Bruce explained how much he makes from the deal (which is very modest), and how much the carrier would make. Big surprise was instead of putting the car on an open transport with 10 other cars, a CLOSED trailer arrived and transported my car and 1 other. Can't beat that!! Great experience, 10/10, A+++, would use again and again. read more

Above The Rest Auto Transport - Vehicle Shipping Near Me

Very rude and seemed focused primarily on getting his fee. We paid over $800 to get our car shipped, scheduled with Bruce from Above The Rest, and after scheduling we started getting a lot of snark and attitude from this guy. 1) He seemed annoyed that we didn't immediately answer every single phone call in the middle of the workday, even though we returned every single missed call we got from him. We all have crap to take care of, chill out. He said he wasn't getting personal with his clearly sarcastic remarks, but what was it then? 2) We asked for insurance information that would cover our vehicle during the course of transport, and what we got was a blurry, teeny tiny bitmap that I told him was illegible. He responded by telling me that was all he had what did I expect from him, followed by eventually providing the legible pdf file when I pressed the issue. 3) The guy he scheduled to deliver our car showed up at 11pm at night BEFORE the day originally scheduled for arrival. He pounded on our door so violently that we were ready to call the cops. It was pitch black at nearly midnight and the driver demanded cash on the spot, and wanted to unload the car in the black of night. We have very little streetlights in our area, it is woodsy and nearly impossible to see at that time, and he wanted to unload our vehicle in that darkness and to drive away with cash? Lol. 4) When we called Bruce back and demanded answers, he responded with "I don't control these drivers, what do you want me to do?" 5) Then they had this whole miscommunication issue about how the payment was to be accepted - the driver barely spoke English, shrugged at me and demanded cash while holding my keys hostage. We were told, IN WRITING, that Zelle was an acceptable payment method. We have evidence of written confirmation available for any Yelp reviewer curious about this guy's hilarious response after he read my review. Wow. Hell no would I recommend this place. Edit: It would seem not only is this a bad "businessman," but also a pathological liar. We have phone records of multiple conversations over the phone which he's now claiming we never had (lol), we SIGNED UP over the phone which he's claiming never happened (lol), along with plenty of evidence of me "yelling" (telling him in a perfectly normal manner) that the driver HE CHOSE has arrived at our door at 11pm banging on our door, haranguing our FROM location contact over the phone instead of our DESTINATION phone number (lol), confirming Zelle information that it seems he's now claiming he never told us was available (why the hell would we ask for Zelle if we didn't have Zelle??). Heaven forbid we wake him at "midnight his time" when WE are being harassed at 11pm TOTALLY outside our scheduled arrival time in pitch black night by someone who barely speaks English! Since he seems to be such a meticulous "businessman", let me add the other details that I didn't have time to add before in my original review about failure to initially provide LEGIBLE INSURANCE DOCUMENTS too. Maybe I should send him the screenshots in case he deleted them with bleach bit. Yeah, what a "businessman" LOL. Have fun with this one, people. He wants us to be "nice" to rude, lying "businessmen". read more

I can't tell you how happy I was to find this company to ship my car from the SF Bay Area to Portland, OR. Based on the majority of his reviews being 5-star, and his office being in the state that I was delivering my car to (he was very familiar with the destination), I decided to call Bruce @ Above the Rest. After reading about the transport process on his and other websites, I figured that he would just put my car on Central Dispatch (all the brokers and drivers use this) and I would have to wait days to get a driver to accept my auto. On our initial phone call, he immediately had a guy in mind who does the California to Florida route. 13 minutes later, he called back to confirm that driver was available, and within the hour, after a couple of more emails, everything was confirmed! I paid his broker fee, and that was the last I ever heard from him. No contract was signed, so was I concerned for the next 5 days before my car was picked up? Definitely was a bit stressful, especially after reading some of the 1-star horror reviews on other auto transport brokers... Enter Kartlosi K. of US Roads Inc. (Bensalem, PA). My auto pickup from San Francisco was flawless, and 5.5 days later, there it was at the final destination in central Florida! It might have been nice for Bruce to follow-up on my transport that he brokered, but I'm not gonna dock this review for that. If there had been issues with the driver, then I would have definitely blasted Bruce's phone, but everything worked out the way it was supposed to! 5-stars for both Bruce L. and Kartlosi K.! read more

I highly recommend this car shipping service in south Florida. Bruce is extremely responsive and got back to me with a quote in literally less than an hour. Extremely happy with transport from Ohio to Florida. Bruce worked with me to set a good price on the load board so that a carrier would select my vehicle for shipment. Probably a hit/miss thing with respect to which carrier selects the vehicle and I assume Bruce cannot predict whether a carrier is good or bad. I had a good carrier who picked up and delivered more or less when they said they would. I suppose if things go wrong, then Bruce gets involved in explaining the process to get you covered for damage, but I fortunately did not experience this. Bruce did explain that "certified funds" were required at vehicle delivery (cash works well...I suppose a certified check also works but why bother if the vehicle is delivered in good condition? If the vehicle is not in good condition then no payment anyway...until repaired) Given all the scammers that tried to contact me for business (and still send me daily messages), I think you can do well with this company. read more

I want to start by Thanking God for allowing my car to be transported safely, I also want to Thank God for helping me find Above the Rest Auto transport. He is good at what he does and he will find you the best deal in a short amount of time. Bruce keeps everything 100 with you no B.S! He found me a carrier within 2 hrs and they got my car from point A to point B in 24hrs. Working with Bruce is a breath of fresh air in an industry that can leave most people feeling frustrated and confused. Bruce is a personable guy, smart businessperson, and an efficient worker. I called Above The Rest today as my father was in a bind (the company he originally called to transport his car from Florida to New York bailed on him last minute). I was connected with Bruce, the owner of the company, who immediately found us a solution. I recommend using Bruce's services for peace of mind because his company truly stands out Above The Rest. read more

Another 5-Star review for Bruce! He's transparent, honest, and about half-price what others charge for the exact same thing: Finding a driver for you by bidding for a driver on the online website "CentralDispatch.com", and then making sure the driver and their truck meets your requirements. Every other transport company does the same thing: they bid for a driver. They don't own trucks, they just bid for driver's who already own trucks on "CentralDispatch.com" that are travelling on your route. Because I own a business that deals with autos, I was able to gain access to CentralDispatch to monitor what Bruce was doing. Sure enough, Bruce bid the exact price that we agreed on. I think a lot of companies out there will bid lower so that they make more money on the back end. But not Bruce. Furthermore, when I wanted to, he changed bids immediately after I asked. Bottomline: Bruce has low overhead, so he can charge less. He's honest, experienced, has good communication, and makes sure your needs are taken care of. I couldn't ask for anything more! read more

We are Florida snowbirds and prefer to drive our own car rather than rent one. Like the other reviewers here, I feel extremely grateful to have come across Bruce in the treacherous and confusing ecosystem of auto transport. I had to ship a car from San Diego to Philadelphia and researched companies for about a week, with growing concern for the process as I read review after review of negative experiences. I finally came across this Yelp page and was encouraged by the fact that all the reviews for Above the Rest were positive, whereas I found a lot of other companies that were half 5 star reviews and half 1 star reviews, which makes me skeptical. Bruce was extremely professional, kind, and transparent about the entire process. He found a company that could pick up the car in a few days and quoted me the lowest price I had come across by $200. I just received my car safe and sound yesterday and am extremely grateful to Bruce for helping me through this process. wow- what a fantastic experience I had with Above the Rest Auto. I started my search to transport my car from Chicago to AZ on yelp...looking up and contacting many companies for a quote. Bruce got back to me within an hour and discussed the possible options to transport my car. He also explained to me how/when the process works-- they are the brokerarage company that sets you up with a carrier company who transports the car. He also explained when the price fluctuates and by how much (i.e., starting November, the price goes up due to weather and changes in route options). He provided me with a competitve quote and answered all of my questions patienty ( how the servies will work, who gets paid and when, and the form of payment, etc). Snce I was still inquiring about prices and was flexible about my date, I told him that I will call him back when I'm ready to proceed. At no time did he pressure me into setting up a time for delivery. I obviously ended up going with Above the Rest. The carrier company they work with was also great- communicated with me about when and where to pick up (living in Chicago, streets are tight so we found a nearby empty parking lot). They told us when to expect the car, which was delivered on time with no issues. Overall, Above the Rest and Bruce in particular were absolutely wonderful to work with- polite, professional and very knowledgeable-- this is how a business should run and Above the Rest auto set the bar high. Should I ever need to transport a vehicle again, I will not think twice contacting using Above the Rest! read more

I worked with Bruce on my car move and he is the best! I'm in LA and the car was in Florida with some friends. The pickup window to get the car was very narrow due to some time constraints. To overcome this problem (and for a very reasonable fee) Bruce personally picked up my vehicle from in DelRay Beach Florida and then stored it securely for a couple days until the transport company picked it up. Car arrived in perfect condition three days earlier than I thought. This was a fantastic experience and when we move my sister in laws car in a couple months there is no doubt where I will be going. Thank you! You are truly ABOVE THE REST!! read more

Great service and communication! Bruce is nothing but respectful, professional and transparent - hard to come by in this industry. He was able to help me last minute when another shipping company cancelled on me. Bruce found me a trusted trucker he uses for shipments across the country and confirmed my booking the next day. Both Above the Rest and the trucking service were very communicative throughout the process - never had to call wondering where my delivery was. BRUCE was wonderful! And like many others, I went in circles before we LUCKILY found him. PLEASE, trust me and look no further... even when your iPhone is listening and pushes an AD for Auto Transport on Instagram. Ugh, I wish I never entered my info! I was hounded with solicitations by email, calls and texts. The good news is, it prompted me to do some serious BBB research - some companies weren't legit and others promised a lower price to lure me in. I finally went on to YELP and found BRUCE, the most honest, patient, responsive, transparent and kind human being. He answered the phone immediately, we chatted about Brokers and while we laughed about his grandkids, he listed the car on Central Dispatch. Within 15 minutes he called me back and had locked in a Transport Company for the next day! He is tremendous, reassuring and such a delight in a very confusing, competitive and risky online world. The car arrived exactly when he said he would and I gave them a check and they went on their merry way. I volunteer to be the President of the "Above The Rest Auto Transport" Club. read more

I contacted Bruce a week ago, to have my car shipped from Hayward, CA to Bowie, MD. After being hounded for weeks on end by different auto shipping carriers. I had a few quotes but the other companies had horrible reviews, and nightmare stories of cars never picked up or increased prices. I searched on Yelp and saw that Bruce had amazing reviews. I decided to take a chance and gave him a call on Friday. We talked in the morning and he assured me that he would get back to me and find a carrier. He explained how the process works and how a lot of carriers will low ball you and then charge you a huge price later. He quoted me at $1,000 which included his $100 fee and $900 due to the driver on delivery. We scheduled my car pickup for Tuesday. On Monday 8/7, I got a call from the carrier that they were in Oakland and they wanted to know if my car was ready for pickup. Everything went smoothly, I was expecting it to take at least 7 days for my car to get to Bowie, MD. Yesterday, I got a call from the driver that he was in TN and would drop off my car the next day. I haven't even left yet!!! I had to make arrangements with my friend in DC to have my vehicle dropped off at her house. You guys this was the fastest I have EVER had my car picked up and transported across the country! This entire experience was smooth and Bruce made himself available along the way. Thank you so much!
