Idk where all the bad reviews for Autosport Services came from, but my experience with these guys was excellent! They kept me updated at every step of the way through the repair/service of my car. Pricing has, I believe, competitive compared to the dealership. The shop is immaculately clean. Work is prompt and professional. Shout out to Edgar whose work is exceptional. Well after being a loyal customer, I find out that this shop was "Rube Goldberg" type work on my 2002 Jetta. That's old time lingo for a shoemakers job. The parts they were claiming to replace "never" solved a single issue. I find now that a valve in the (three component) air flow system was never replaced allowing the problem to periodically return. Then they charge me (a loyal customer) $73.00 to switch a tire from one rim to another. That's nearly half of what the replacement tire cost. I didn't expect anything free but certainly not to be raked. Shame on me cause I saw a few poor reviews about the shop but I gave them a chance and ended up out thousands of dollars and "nothing" accomplished. read more

First of all REVIEW is just that this is not a collection of best kiss up story.what it is is HOW I felt through the years and some good but some bad but recently I have had it with advisor who is not even certified tech.who is just flat rude with condescending attitude. I been a customer there through two owners for over 6 years. I have recently decided not to go there any more ALL FOR the patronizing " This conversation is over " over the haggling of the price. Giving a estimate of 300 dollars for a small tool that cost just 40 bucks, also giving estimate of 10 hrs when things can done in 4 hrs just isn't a best way to make long term customer. Esp when you are over 6 yrs customer in that shop.(Yes I was then every visit was negotiation war) then finally Fed up with it. I am done. don't be fooled with hr rate. its the total they ask matters. Always ASK HOW MANY HRS does it take. NOT how much. there is reason for it. Also don't forget so called unqualified service advisor , lives on Commission not salary so they will empty your wallet if they can knowing you are desperate to fix your car. SHOP around don't fall for it. this place need learn what customer service means. the worst is when someone who attempt to cheat customer who is a a car enthusiast who does home works before bring cars in. I end up negotiating the price always before bring in. but just tired nonsense advisor throw ridiculous price on it. also When I ask for ORIGINAL BMW part means just that pls don't put something else behind my back and charge me. (its just as good huh? cheap parts are cheap for reason, and everyone knows why they do this kind of thing .BUT Let me tell you HONESTY , PRICE transparency goes further. don't charge me 850 dollars for Bosch alternator if I can buy new for 290 online shops inbox sealed. That is what we call ATTEMPTING to RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. 400 sound more reasonable. THEY KNOW industry price, parts price etc ridiculous to throw that kind of stunt on long term customer. I say STOP trying to THROW HIGH PRICE on the wall and see if it sticks. Good luck I am no longer using this service one reason gotten too far. driving up 2.5 hrs .their customer service really need improvement. I wont go back to them until adv is out. I asked for a quote on M157 MB engine. replace the tensioner their quote was even higher then MB dealers LOL. dealer tech are CERTIFIED for that engine . these guys are not. by 100 MORE !! even I been there for over 6 years!! . they are not certified nor they have done any (obvious when they don't even carry special tools for that job. attempt to rip me off for tool that cost 40 for 300 ! ) If let them . this is nonsense .Found much nicer shop (Motorsports) 1 hr south off GS parkway. I have a 2005 2.0L Jetta (old body model) and needed to replace my timing belt. I emailed and got a response the same day with an estimate from a gentleman named Ty. I arrived the same week and was greeted by Ty -- he's very friendly and helpful. He gave me an estimate of approximately 4 hours to replace the timing belt, but completed the job in about 3 hours. They noticed my check engine light was on so they performed a OBD scan and found that the catalytic convertor was causing the engine light to turn on. Ty told me that the catalytic convertor should be under warranty and I should stop by the VW dealership to have them check it and replace it. I took his advice and brought my car to Three County VW in Lyndhurst, NJ the very next morning. The experience was the complete opposite. I told them about the check engine light code and catalytic convertor code and they told me they would take a look at it. Four hours later, they finally spoke to me and recommended that I replace nearly $3,000 worth of stuff. The list was long and included coolant temperature sensor, cooling fan, thermostat, MAF sensor, etc. There was no mention of O2 sensor, and yet they told me that I needed to replace my timing belt that was just replaced the day before! I told him about the code that came up in the scan, but they wouldn't honor the warranty without eliminating the possibilities that the things on the list they said I needed to replace were causing the check engine light. I was very frustrated at this point and I asked for my car back and drove away feeling like I wasted my day with 3County VW. Before I even had the chance to email Ty at Autosport Performance for his recommendation, he took the initiative and reached out to me the following week asking about the catalytic convertor! I told him about my experience and he offered to call some "customer friendly" VW dealerships for me. This guy is amazing! Above and beyond what I expect out of any place. If you have a European car, I highly recommend this place. They seem to be very knowledgeable and are very friendly. read more

It's hard to find an honest mechanic especially one that specializes in German performance cars. Ty is as honest and trustworthy as it gets. Every time I bring my Porsche to him, it gets 5 star treatment. Everything is done in a clear and transparent way. I just got new tires put on today and they went out of their way to give me the car back fully washed and waxed looking spectacular. I would recommend this shop to any Porsche owner in the NY/NJ area. read more

I've been bringing 3 generations of BMW to them: an E30, an E36, and now an E46. There is no one else I would trust to do my mechanical work. Each of those cars had various modifications done to them, from suspension to brakes, and in the case of the E36 a full blown supercharger. Autosport will FIX the car. No matter the problem. End of story. Their technical expertise and knowledge surpasses even the dealers these days. Highly recommended. read more

I don't know what these other reviews are talking about but i was truly disappointed and felt insulted. I made an appointment for this morning at 11am by calling and received confirmation for the time which he said "11 is perfect!" I got off work for early lunch which you would assume it would take at most an hour since i made an appointment. I get there 10min. early and I saw the oil change pit empty, i thought to myself alright the car prior to my time has already finished. I go into the office and look around two people waiting and two people staring at the computer screen and didn't even bother to greet me. So ok that is fine. I go up to this guy tell him 11o'clock appointment is here and he goes o you're going to have to wait awhile. I said excuse me? He said i have two cars ahead of me. Excuse me? He says i should drop it off. I'm like what!? And the first car wasn't even up on the lift which means i will have to wait at least two hours for my car to even start. I'm sure these two just walked in w/o appt or....i can't even imagine they would put 3 people at the same time. So this whole time he was talking to me he kept staring at the computer screen. It was just wow....i just walked out feeling insulted. I would have felt much better if they apologized at least but left me speechless. I instead went to my shop in fort lee for $30 oil change(had my supplies)instead of their $75. I went to this place after reading the reviews since i bought my first porsche. Don't bother it's not a german specialty shop it was just a regular domestic independent shop. read more

What a great place to bring your foreign car for service. The service was excellent, the people friendly and helpful, and the cost was very reasonable. I live in GA and am visiting up here. Another company recommended Autosport Performance. I am so impressed, I plan to have Autosport go over the entire mechanics of my car and fix it all before I head back south. Very good and very professional, the turning light of my Porsche Cayenne had some problems, I went to the 4S and they asked me to change the whole set of light for costing me 2000 bucks. The next day, I came here and they fixed my car in just 5 minutes for 20 bucks. Really professional and nice. read more
