I have shipped my car over a dozen times. Maybe once duplicating a transport service. I chose this location because they were local to my outgoing destination ( Houston). Prices were on the lower end side and booked a few weeks prior to shipping my car back to Ohio. I usually pay for higher end companies like Montway etc. I emailed the local manager and told him my concerns and my issues with communication during shipping process. Very friendly but this was the worst communication of any shipping company i have used. Would tell me daily that someone would definitely let.me.know yay or ney if there was a driver. Never got a call. Had to call daily to check if possibly pick up. No but I will definitely have someone call you to let.you know. Crickets. I'm here on a work contract so I'm on a bit of a time crunch and to have to take time out my work day every day during pick up.period. Yep I emailed and left voicemail to please give an update. Nothing. The only saving grace that gives them 3 stars.is the driver they chose. I met him.in Houston. Told him I'm flying back.to Toledo and going on my birthday trip on such n such a date. The day before the pick up, my truck driver Derek actually showed up early but was accommodating to the fact that I wasn't ready. The only miscommunication we had was that I was told my car would not be picked up on a Sunday yet the driver was ready on a Sunday. However Derek was able to come early Monday instead and it took about 5 days for my car to arrive to California on Friday. Overall it was a stress free experience as moves can always be so frustrating, I appreciate this company for taking care of my needs.

Movers" is, by far, the most arrogant, asinine, childishly silly, and mathematically challenged moving company I've ever encountered ... in my life. They seriously imagine we're supposed to submit to them a detailed list of the items being moved and apparently they think they can "calculate" what they want to use (i.e., what they want to charge you), not what you actually need. If you've moved before and added/subtracted certain types of items (e.g., appliances, larger or smaller sofa, gaming computer), then you pretty much know how much more/less truck space you'll need as compared to the last move. Worse, their expectation is that you'll be perfectly okay with them separating all your possessions ... that you'll NEED in your new home ... and storing them behind their fence somewhere and you'll just sit in your empty house without the ability to start organizing, cooking, cleaning, etc. It's utterly insane that anyone thinks that's a reasonable methodology. Every other moving company I called bases the move off the truck(s) that will be needed, yet this one somehow escaped from la-la land and bases the move off an "item count", lol. When I clarified that, YES, you can know what you need based off prior moves, the guy said "Oh, it doesn't work that way". No, sweetie ... YOU won't be working that way, not today, and not with me.

The person on the phone gave a rather confident estimate of 1 week and that they do that route often. It took double that time, which was still within the guaranteed time frame but given my conversation on the phone, I had made other plans contingent on a 1 week delivery estimate. Also, once I was booked with them, it was not easy to get a response via email or phone after leaving a voice message with the original person I spoke on the phone with to make changes or have questions answered. The ugly: They broke my bookshelf in transit and lost the screws to my TV stand. We put the TV stand and screws into a separate box. Upon arrival, the mover walked in with just the TV stand in hand, and no box (and no screws). I am still waiting for the claim to be processed. Overall, friendly over phone and email. Transparent pricing and breakdown. The actual moving was meh. They definitely talk the talk, but they didn't really walk the walk with me.

I used Montway and…read morecommunicated with them that we'd be arriving in Oakland by plane at 10:00 am, however I would not be able to pick up the car earlier than 2:00pm on delivery day. They said they noted that and that there is also a possibility it could be a day or two late, which I was fine with. DMS Hauling (US DOT 4369523) picked up this job. This is when I learned Montway is just a broker. I communicated with DMS customer service my timeframe--they said not to worry because Texas to California is a common route. Then when the DMS driver came to our neighborhood on Sunday, August 2, 2026, I told him again we cannot receive the car until 2:00 or after on Friday, August 7. He literally said to me, "No problem." My daughter and I turn off aiplane mode on our phones at 10:00 am Oakland time when we land that Friday, and there are numerous texts and missed calls to both of us from DMS customer service saying the driver has left our car in a parking lot with the key left on the tire because we weren't available to recieve the car. I immediately call Montway while my daughter is calling DMS. I tell Montway we have literally just landed and that I do not want the car left unattended. I asked them to call DMS and call me back. They called me back and said the driver will come back and wait with our car. Meanwhile, DMS is telling my daughter their driver has other cars to deliver and can't wait for us. He is the one that arrived earlier than the contracted time! Finally, DMS said the driver will come back and wait. I sent my daughter straight to the parking lot/ drop off point by Uber, even though we had checked luggage still to get. When she arrived, no driver was there. Her car was left unattended in Oakland in a public parking lot. The key was under a windshield wiper with a paper flyer over it. I was frustrated by the attitude that their delivery schedule took priority over making sure our car was safely transported to us. Yes, I will be reporting DMS Hauling. Montway continues to send me surveys where I have explained all of this mutiple times and no one has reached out. No one has contacted me or documented my concerns. You'd think they would want to find out more information and possibly not allow DMS to pick up any more jobs from them. Beware: There is no customer service from Montway after the carrier takes over.
