The belt is shredded

I recently purchased a 21 Atlas from Ryan. A few days after we purchased it, there was a sound in the right front. I'm not a mechanic so I called made an appointment and had it the next morning at the dealership for them to repair it. I was told it was the new brake pad and that was it. I then drove my car home which is about 200 miles from the dealership, I unfortunately did not make it because the belt was shredded and left us stranded. We called and spoke with the manager, Les. He informed us that the only option was to have it towed back to the dealership over 200 miles away, leaving me with no car and no other option. I never heard back from him after that. I had to have a repair shop in my town fix the belt because no one from the dealership returned my phone calls. I then called and asked to speak with the general manager and left him a message. And that was two days ago and I'm still waiting for a callback or a resolution or any sort of customer service that they claim to have. If I can deter one person from purchasing a vehicle from them, then my review has done its job. Save yourself the trouble. They talk a big game, about their great customer service but they don't back it up.

Heads were rebuilt by Area Automotive & Machining 9/9/16 and ran fine, then developed a rod bearing going bad causing rod noise on start up only, no metal ever drained in 8 months I drove it prior to having enough to buy a rebuilt block from Rocky Mountain Roos. Upon draining oil there was a huge amount of shiny fine metal glitter clearly visible, and metal found in pan after they tore it down. They blamed my used heads, which would obviously ruin my heads and old block if the metal came from them, and never drained in oil changes. They claimed somehow that metal sat in heads for 8 months then all ran through the new block all of a sudden in 80 miles, so wouldn't refund or stick by his 1 year warranty and gave me 3 choices: *Pay them to put block together they said nothing was wrong with, but had metal in oil pan *Take $300 and a loss and leave them the engine *Pick up the disassembled block crank pistons rods bearings in a box It would've took them 1-2 hours to find the problem and put it back together, keep a lifetime Subaru owner as a customer, get good word of mouth spread about their work and warranties, instead they screwed me over for a quick $1450 and a whole lot of bad mouthing to every Subaru owner I know. Not a trustworthy shop at all. Also have a car lot, so i definitely wouldn't buy a used Subaru from this establishment. The tech they have named Aaron is super knowledgeable and friendly, he deserves to work for a better shop and owner who knows how to conduct business in this Subaru loving market here in Colorado!! So if anyone's looking for a awesome Subaru builder/mechanic you need to get ahold of Aaron there and make him a offer he can't refuse.

I dealt with Austin, who made this entire process incredibly difficult and failed to provide the support or oversight expected when a customer's safety is at stake. I almost got into an accident with my family in the vehicle because my newly purchased vehicle stalled on the highway. I spoke to Austin multiple times about my issue, and he proved to be more of a roadblock for my safety than helpful. Because of the severe safety risks and the lack of professional accountability, I will be moving forward with formal complaints to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the State Department to ensure this location is held responsible. Avoid this location (CarMax Golden)--especially if you value your safety and don't want to deal with the headache I faced.

The paint damage and dents happened during transit, and they said that it happens and that customers usually don't mind any extra damage during transit. They also denied it was paint damage and said that just a clear decal needed to be replaced, when it was obvious that you could see metal. They were pretty clear that they do not cover transit damage. Sales team him-hawed to get rid of us so we would just drive away. Tail light fixture was also busted during transit, or at some point, but was never disclosed. They said they would replace it, but they never did. Why does that matter? Fast forward to now. The exhaust on the car was getting loud and seemed like it was "falling off." We obviously wanted to get this looked at, because the problem certainly wasn't getting any better and potentially breathing in carbon monoxide isn't good. A search turned up automotive evolution, so we went in at 8:30 am today - right on time for our appointment that we set via phone a couple of days prior. The staff were friendly and got the car looked at quickly. As it turns out, it muffler was basically falling off! The exhaust pipe was rusting through behind the muffler. On top of that, the muffler itself also had corrosion perforation / holes in it. No wonder it was sounding like crap and we heard it knock around over the horrible, pothole ridden colorado roads. My car was taken in at 8:30 am, and we had the car back before 11 am, closer to 10:30 am. The price for the exhaust work was reasonable and the quality of the parts and work seems very good. I like that they provide you with photos of the issue and give a report of what they find and/or recommend. Unlike a dealership or big national repair chain, there were no upsell attempts or pressure to pay for things I didn't need. Their price for oil changes appeared pretty in-line with local quick lube shops. The waiting area isn't bad: there are a couple of tables to sit at, a water dispenser with cups, and a restroom. It also sounds like they can make arrangements for rental cars if you need to leave your car for a more protracted repair. While I don't like spending money at a mechanic, that's the reality of having an older car. I definitely won't hesitate to return to automotive evolution in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs a car repair place.

It was apparent that the service dept went through the vehicle pretty thoroughly. They had replaced brakes, machined rotors, replaced a bad window regulator and did an oil change and full inspection. In my experience, most car dealers will take in a vehicle, change the oil and put it on the lot. The only reason for a one star deduct was because the car did have some mild hail damage that was not disclosed on the ad and I had to point it out to Tim. Damage was very mild and only noticeable on the hood. I had a mobile paintless dent repair guy take out the light damage for $50. Would buy here again without reservation. Steve Gilbert

Granted I haven't had to deal with their sales team, but the vibe in that department doesn't smell off or feel icky either. Both service visits were quick, seamless and included the usual oil change, tire rotation, fluid checks... all handled without any friction. They do suggest manufacturer-recommended services (like alignments), but it's presented in a no-pressure way. Easy to say yes or no, and no weird energy either way. Big shoutout to my advisor, Riley Potter! She's been thorough, friendly, and refreshingly normal in the best way - thanks Ri! I started working with Tim and his crew over a year ago to build our dream 4x4 Van. Tim spoke a good game but clearly over stated his companies ability to deliver a quality product. Things began to unravel when I went to pick up the van and less than an hour before we picked up the van the price was increased 7K without any future discussion when I was told the price was set just a few days before I left to pick it up. Not the way a reputable company does business! Then once I got the van home it leaked like swiss cheese. Every door, window, and multiple spots in the hightop leaked. Tim tried to get me to wait several months to bring it back and I refused. So I drove the 5hrs one way back to his shop and spent a late night allowing them to fix the issues. Tim assured me everything was fixed when I left that night. Only to get home and have a snow storm hit and the real issues showed their face. Not a single bolt in the high-top and roof rack had been sealed nor had any sealant been used on the max air fan. Several screws were just rain right into the hightop without a drop of sealant. The interor panles were soaked and are now warped from the moisture. So much for a brand new van build! So yet again I make the 5 hr one way trip to drop the van back off to address the issues. Tim blamed a single employee for all of these issues and said he fired the employee but he clearly never did any type of quality control on any portion of this build. We make the 5 hr one way drive yet again to pick up the van yet and everything seemed good. Then the rear end started acting up and developed a lot of chatter due to Tim's employees not adding the limited slip differential additive. During this time a leak in the front pinion seal was also noticed. At the same time silicone on edge of the top began to crack and peel and yet another leak developed along the windshield of the hightop. After a very heated conversation, Tim finally agreed to fix the rear end, pinion seal, and address the leaks again. Here we go again for another 5hr one way drive to drop the van off. We picked the van up yet again and Tim ensured me everything was good to go this time. Not so fast. After a little over 1,000 miles the pinion seal has started to leak again. I sent Tim a message about this and he has not responded for over a month. This last week we found several leaks still in the high top. After future inspection there is not a bit of sealant between the hightop and the van and the hightop is only held on by a handful of bolts. There a several places where the sealant on the outside of the hightop is almost 1/4 of an inch thick and you can see daylight between the hightop and the van. Again, clearly no one did any type of quality control on this build. I refuse to allow Tim or anyone on his staff to touch this van again, even if he would respond, and now am forced to find another company to fix all of the mistakes made by Tim and his crew. This was supposed to be a lifelong dream come true and has turned into months of frustration and thousands of dollars in fuel and time wasted. Buyer beware, Timberline Vans is not the quality van building company they will lead you to believe. One year later and Tim still refuses to return any phone call, text, or email. Now as another kick in the gut, the raptor liner that I paid him 5k to apply is pealing and chipping due to little to no prep work being done before applying.
