After wasting so much time at other dealers a lot closer to our house, we decided to take the long drive out to see the 2027 Bolts that Autonation had listed. We were immediately greeted by Carlos who walked us over to a few different models to look at. Carlos is a very unique and pleasant salesman to work with. None of the games, he listened and acted on our preferences instead of selling us what he'd been told to. When we found the right trim and options on the car we came to see, the color in person didn't grow on us. So Carlos led us over to the new intake where he had exactly the same car, same options in a striking blue. So we talked prices but ultimately on the day we didnt impulse buy and decided to take some time to think about it and left. There was no hard sales after that. I have to add here, that our experience was still jaded by our earlier visits to OTHER dealerships. They use things like bait and switch tactics (getting your budget, agreeing on a price, then changing the vin & car on the paperwork to a lesser trim and price) But we found none of the sales games with Autonation. This was such a differential turning point for us and why we decided to drive all the way back to close the deal. Not once did Carlos or his manager get defensive or upset when I was armed with photos, print outs of the car and vin to check Carlos's monitor and paperwork at every step of the process They were totally understanding The whole process of buying the car took less than 2 pleasurable hours and that included a personal tour and demo of all the cars new features by Carlos. read more

The sales experience started off fine -- my salesman was friendly and personable. However, everything went downhill in the finance office. I told them my maximum monthly payment was $300-350. The finance manager told me he was giving me a veterans discount, but when I reviewed my paperwork he had simply removed the GAP insurance -- that's not a discount, that's misleading. My payments ended up at $407/month, well over what I agreed to. They also gave me very low trade-in value for my 2016 Sentra. When I asked about the missing spare tire, the salesman told me I had a choice between an air compressor and a spare tire -- I later found out this was not accurate and when I tried to follow up, nobody would return my calls. I also discovered torn leather on the rear seat behind the driver that I didn't notice at purchase. Additionally, they never sent me a copy of my purchase contract or my Vehicle Protection Plan -- I had to track those down myself. Veterans deserve better than this. read more

The only reason I gave them a one star is because zero is not an option. My company purchased a 2019 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and less than 6 weeks later the clutch went out. They claim the clutch is not covered under their warranty plan, which I agree with. However, they also claim to do a "200 point" inspection before they sell the car. How could the clutch pass the inspection and then fail based on "wear and tear" 6 weeks later. I will never do business with these people again. read more

I recently purchased a used 2016 Jeep Patriot from Superstition Springs Chevrolet, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. At first glance, the vehicle looked great, which is why I felt comfortable moving forward with the purchase. However, almost immediately after driving it, multiple issues began to surface. The motor mounts appear to be bad, causing the engine to vibrate noticeably. The A/C system short cycles, making it unreliable, especially in the Arizona heat. The exterior mirror control is broken, and the driver's door seal is damaged--it's torn and partially hanging loose. Additionally, the Bluetooth system does not function properly, and it still has previous owners registered with no way to remove them. Given the size and reputation of this dealership, I would not have expected a vehicle with this many issues to be placed on their lot for sale, even "as-is." While I understand that buying a used vehicle comes with risks, this feels like a lack of basic inspection and quality control. I've since had to place the vehicle at a consignment lot and am hoping to sell it, even though I know I will be taking a financial loss. This has turned out to be a very poor financial decision on my part. Buyers should proceed with caution and thoroughly inspect any vehicle before purchasing. Buyer beware. read more

We went to AutoNation Superstition Springs to look at a 2023 Mazda CX-5 that I found on the Edmunds app with search criteria which included "personal use only" and "one owner". We drove the vehicle and then looked at the Carfax. Unfortunately, the Carfax showed that the car was converted to a rental vehicle almost immediately They said that there was a slightly older model at their Tempe dealership, they would have someone bring it over and it would take about 30 minutes. 50 minutes later they came to tell that the person they sent ran into traffic going to their North Scottsdale dealership and had just arrived there. We had offered to go look at the car at the other dealership and they clearly told us someone from that dealership would bring the car over. Somewhere two things changed: 1. Their person was making a round trip. 2. The car was further away than they told us. Had they involved us in the decision when these two things "changed", we might have made a different decision. Spoke to the salesman and showed up later that day to check out the vehicle and go for a test drive. As I was motivated to buy the car, they were motivated to sell and we made the deal. Dealer was Tony Grimsley who was polite, forthcoming, and flexible to make deal with me. Would buy from him again! The only downside was dealing with finance department and finance manager as he wanted to sell me all kind of additional financial products I don't need it! The man wouldn't take no for an answer. Customer service is horrible. Took my new truck in for first service. They dented the right front quarter panel, did a mediocre repair. I told them this was unacceptable. Service manger agreed panel needed to be replaced. For four days I've been trying to get a status on my vehicle. No response either phone call or text. After 3 attempts today I found out a repair, which I didn't authorize, was done and panel was repainted and not replaced. Totally regret having bought my vehicle from this dealer. read more

When I got it checked by my personal mechanic he only used a scanner to check the issue it showed it was the turbo. But he tell my wife we will let you know so if we find anything else. Let me start by saying the sales department is really good. The repair shop is too slow. I brought my truck up for a oil change and check engine light diagnostics, I was told it would be a few days before that can be done (the diagnostics test, not even repair). I have the Chevy warranty so I am at the mercy of this shop. How can you set up an appointment just to be told it would be days before your vehicle can be seen. People cannot be without a vehicle for a day nevermind 3-4 days for a diagnostics check. Then when they part, they realize there was another issue which caused another two week delay. They had my car for over a month and Thomas never apologized, never addressed the fact that I was upset that they had it for so long. This dealership is fine when buying a vehicle, but has the worst service department I've ever dealt with. My previous vehicle was a 2018 Equinox Premier that had a failed intercooler, which their service technician claimed was an aftermarket replacement. Had the technician removed enough components to adequately inspect the part, he would have seen that that it was an OEM intercooler. Nevertheless, in order to get the vehicle back from AutoNation Superstition Springs, I was forced to pay the cost of a full inspection and diagnosis (over $700)! Now, I have a 2024 Equinox EV that has electronic problems that weren't corrected when they had the vehicle for four days, and I've been waiting to hear from the Service writer that the new OnStar module had been received, and I even called last week to check on it, with no return call, only to find out at 10 AM that I was supposed to ave the vehicle in at 7 AM. General Manager, Shane convinced me last time to give them another chance, which I did with this new Equinox. Now I'm done shopping with Autonation Superstition Springs forever Chapman Chevrolet is a little further away, but has a better reputation, especially for GM employees and retirees. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at AutoNation during my recent visit. I dropped off my car at 2:15 PM on Thursday, the 20th, even though my appointment wasn't until 2:30 PM. I was told it would take one hour to assess the issue and that I would receive a text with an update--that never happened. The next day (Friday, the 21st), I left a voicemail and three text messages for Robert, my service advisor, starting at 9:51 AM. I didn't hear back from Robert until 12:18 PM, where he casually said, "Sorry, we've been short-staffed all morning." That's unacceptable--your service department opens at 7 AM, and short staffing is not my problem. Because of the delay, I had to take an Uber to my doctor's appointment since I wasn't going to get my car back when I was told I would have it by Friday. Then comes the pricing issue--I was quoted $676 plus tax to fix the broken engine mounts, but I ended up paying $773.99, with only $21.53 of that being taxes. Robert mentioned something about "giving me discounts," but the math clearly doesn't reflect that. This morning, I got a text at 9:13 AM saying my car was ready. I arrived at 10:03 AM to pick it up. While paying, I informed Robert that there's an issue with my online account showing the wrong address, which caused my card to be declined due to the wrong zip code. I also mentioned that I've tried multiple times to fix it, even calling AutoNation customer service only to be transferred to OnStar. Robert showed zero interest in helping me resolve it--he just manually entered the correct zip code and moved on. After I paid, they couldn't find my keys--it took them six minutes to locate them. Not a huge deal, but then I was told my vehicle hadn't even been washed yet. When I asked Robert why, he shrugged it off with a joke, which only increased my frustration. A young employee then asked me if I still wanted my car washed. Of course, I said yes--it's part of the AutoNation service, and after what I just paid, it should have been handled without question. Also, for the record, my vehicle was previously titled to my parents, I now own it. We have never taken this vehicle to another mechanic except Discount Tire. What has happened to AutoNation? The service has declined dramatically. Things like this never happened when I dealt with Donald and Johnny R.--they knew how to treat a customer. Frankly, after this experience, I'll be looking for another place to have my car serviced. AutoNation has seriously dropped the ball. PS I have photos of my bill and the text messages between Robert Adams and me. **I need to add another thing: I had to replace my battery in Jan or Feb of this year. I told the service advisor that I replaced a battery in 2022 or 2023 and was told, nope, the last time the battery was replaced was in 2015. Um, how??, living in AZ, does a battery last 10 years? It doesn't. When I asked that service advisor for help with research, he referred me to the front desk in the showroom, and they provided me with a telephone number. I got so frustrated that I gave up trying to get my money back. I know that there have been several batteries installed since 2015 and no one would take the time to look into my account. As previously mentioned, this vehicle was owned by my parents first, so they had their own AutoNation account that should have been transferred to me in December of 2021 after my father passed. read more

A minor repair to the service department, called to schedule and couldn't get me in for 2 weeks, not really a problem. But then when I showed up for my appointment, the tech says they are backed up a week, I mentioned that I would just bring the vehicle back in a week when they can get it in, said it doesn't work like that, I have to drop it off for a week and a tech will get to it when they can. So infuriating, no loaner, no working with you for a minor issue. Now I'm waiting without a vehicle, will see how long it takes. Was planning on getting my wife a vehicle here soon, but definitely not at this dealership. Do your due diligence. You say you have a service department. When you have a problem with your car, you call the service department number and get some boiler room in Texas. They don't care about what the problem is and set up an appointment. I use the term loosely. The appointment they set up is a week out. I arrive at my appointed time, and the service rep does not listen to me but proceeds to tell me that I need to leave the car with them for a week and a half so they can diagnose the problem. They have no loaner, nothing, just leave the car. I ask why can't you make an appointment for when it can be looked at. Nope, just leave the car. I can't be without my car that long. I go to work 35 miles one way every day. And where are you going to secure my car while you have it for some undetermined amount of time? And to make matters worse this is an ongoing problem with my Chevy Bolt that has now escalated to what is a hazardous condition where the rearview mirror/camera system gets so hot I can't touch the mirror. No one but sales answers the phones, you can't talk to the Service manager or anyone else and no one returns your calls if you manage to get to someone's voice mail. Sales tries to put you through, but it just goes to a phone transfer run around until it drops your call. read more

Picked up a certified used car 10 days ago. As I was driving it back to my hometown it became obvious that the vehicle has transmission problems. Auto Nation said its 100% covered just take it near nearby Chevrolet dealership which I did. The dealership confirmed the transmission needed fixed. Six days later and my 100% covered vehicle still hasn't authorized the Chevy dealership to fix it. Do yourself a favor and shop at a more reputable dealership. read more
