    My daughter got her first car!! Super exciting…read more 10 years ago, I purchased a car from this Carmax. I had such a great guest service experience that we came back for her car. The car buying process was so easy. This location also has a nice selection of cars to choose from. Abu greeted us immediately and was able to help us get everything done.     I had a horrible experience at the Carmax Laurel Location. I had to return a vehicle that I…read morepurchased from another location that required service immediately after purchasing. I had the car scheduled for a diagnostic with the manufacturer, and after the initial test drive, the service manager, immediately confirmed that there were in fact several issues with the vehicle. Carmax Laurel, did not offer to do a diagnostic test on my vehicle before I cancelled my contract. I was told that because the other store emailed the paperwork for return, that it was their mission to process the return and help me find a new vehicle as quickly as possible. 3 hours later, I began test driving new replacement vehicles in hopes of finding the right car for me. The first vehicle that I test drove, had low tire pressure lights on when I started the car to drive. The second vehicle had not been cleaned. There was in fact a half smoked blunt (filled with marijuana) in the passenger door. There was also, broken glass in the trunk of the car. I was outraged! How unprofessional and wildly inappropriate is it for the car not to have been deeply cleaned and detailed? Also, can you imagine if I would have been pulled over? The management team was apologetic. They offered to buy my lunch for up to $25 and they provided me a Lyft to my destination. The following day, the salesman I was working with never called me with an additional apology, he never presented me with any other car options that would meet my needs, and to date he hasn't said a word. I did hear from the service manager Debbie, and one of the sales managers, Steve. They both expressed apologies and offered to help me find another vehicle. I still don't have a car. I am waiting on a transfer from another store. At this point the level of unprofessionalism and the fact that cars are not serviced, or cleaned makes me want to walk away from Carmax all together. I am outraged and very disappointed in my experience.

My daughter's car has now been here another week, and they assured her, that they could find nothing wrong... And we are sitting here in the lot right now and the check engine light came back on. They said they just don't know what to do anymore... What in the actual hell kind of answer is that? This is your car? Chevy this is one of your vehicles... And your mechanics cannot figure it out? This is absurd. I can't figure out for the life of me how in the world you stay in business when your answer to a customer... Is "I don't know what to do"... We have taken this to other mechanics, and they couldn't figure it out and told us that we must go to the dealer! Because the dealer understands their own vehicles... But you hired these mediocre POS mechanics who don't actually know your vehicle vehicles! How in the world... How in the world do you function with this kind of shitty customer service, mechanical service, and ownership service *****2nd UPDATE**** well that excitement was pretty short-lived... Less than one day later check engine light is back on, only now rather than trying to figure out the problem, they're trying to sell a new vehicle. Typical. The car doesn't have high miles even though it's a 2016. We have replaced the thermostat, the catalytic converter, the timing belt, the O2 sensors, the ignition coils, it has new brakes, and now because of a wiring issue that they can't seem to figure out... Even though we owe quite a bit on the car still... They're trying to flip it and get a sale out of us. Disgusted. Thanks a lot Mark. You put me in touch with someone..That's just trying to sell us another car.... It's disgusting how condescending your sales people are knowing we are upside down on a loan for a car that you guys can't even figure out what's wrong with it... Knowing another car payment is not the answer, but looking at your bottom line only and not caring about the customer at all. Chevy is the worst. Made an appointment for Monday at 10 AM. Sat there for four hours before they told me I need to just leave my car. They called me back on Tuesday and told me what part they needed, a small wire, and that I would need to wait until they ordered it. On Wednesday I called to check the status, the part had not been ordered yet on Thursday, I called to check the status. They said the part was ordered, but not in yet. On Friday the part finally came in. They did the work, I picked up my vehicle and the check engine light was still on. They did not fix the problem, their employees were fighting in front of customers. The waiting area was absolutely filthy, they let me sit for hours upon hours before telling me. I had to leave my car anyway. They never called me back. I only got updates if I called them. They quoted me one price and then added $100 to that. I can't tell you how awful this place was, for a dealer there's a level of respect you hope they want to have over other mechanics, but clearly this location doesn't give a shit about anybody not even their own employees. Disgusting experience I would not recommend anyone going here for anything.

    VIPRE is a good place to buy a used auto, but a bad place to get it repaired. I bought a late…read moremodel Honda hybrid from VIPRE, and have had decent luck with it, but the few times I brought it into them, the bill was always near or above $1,000. In one instance, they charged me $1,200 to replace ONE headlight, and they didn't even fix it correctly- I had to bring it back in because the mechanic hadn't replaced the "igniter". The other headlight went out 2 months later, so I took it to a recommended moonlighter mechanic- he fixed the set-up without fuss for $200, and a year later it's still running strong. I really don't think Shamit and crew are intentionally trying to rip customers off, I just think there's a disconnect between the management and the repair side of the business. And, if you get caught up in that "disconnect", it will cost you thousands of dollars. Shamit has never fixed this issue, so beware to the car owner looking to get a repair. Needless to say, my next used car will probably be purchased at VIPRE, but my repairs will be going elsewhere. Three stars: good cars, bad repair service.

    Vipre has fair pricing and that are ethical in their approach to sales and service. I keep going…read moreback to them and I get the impression that most of their other customers do. I get this impression because of what I see when I'm in the waiting room. Service is scheduled well and there is never a long wait for repairs once you're scheduled. If you have a mechanical emergency, they work with you in a very understanding manner.
