Within 10 minutes they identified the problem and provided me a solution that later worked. No fee requested. On April 14, I returned again without an appointment and explained further problems with my install. This time I suggested a consult fee to which they agreed. Looking up car specific fuse block information, they again identified the solution and requested I pull my car into the shop to show me the correct fuse block location for my application. Then as I watched using their supplies they did the final power supply install for the front camera. 15 minutes later all was working as the manufacturer intended. As a DIYer I like to learn by doing and in this case watching but if I did not, I wouldn't hesitate to contract them. I did not expect the additional installation using their shop supplies, so I doubled the consult fee which was still very reasonable. Thanks guys for treating a double walk-in so professionally. The man there said he'd take a quick look right away, spent 5 minutes looking into it and fixed it right there. I asked how much I owed him and he said "nothing." I discovered recently it's because they don't allow any critical or negative reviews - even the slightest ones on their website. I wrote one review for a product that was moderately critical and it never showed up on their website. I recently submitted a 3 star review for a mini excavator I paid $10,000 for. The purpose was to provide them and their customers an honest opinion of what I liked and disliked about it so prospective purchasers could make an informed buying decision. After a couple of days, I got this email from them: " Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" So what's the point of sharing if honest reviews aren't allowed??? I rely on reviews to make informed purchases. I would have expected more from Princess Auto.
