    Just wanted to share my experience with Bytown motorcycle repair and the owner Rob…read more Under no circumstances should anyone ever give him a deposit for any work, he will take your money and leave you waiting for months. That's if he even bothers to complete the work. Back in August 2013 I called Bytown asking if he could do a full rebuild on my RD400 motor. At the time I asked for an estimate for both cost and turnaround time. He said he could not provide one without seeing what the bike needs. OK, arranged to drop off the entire bike (That's what he wanted) and a spare motor. I indicated that I only wanted one rebuilt. He said he was very busy but could get it done. I was very clear with my expectation of having a completed bike for spring... Called him once a month to check on the progress, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, nothing.... Jan, he started taking it apart. Gives me a call in early feb, needs cash for parts. Give him a 1K cash deposit (huge mistake) Still won't give estimate on when it'll be done. I still mentioning a spring completion. March 28th he wants another 1K cash, (even bigger mistake on my part) Again still won't give estimate on total cost or completion time. Still indicating a spring completion. From then on I'd call him once a month (trying to give him time to work) only to be told he didn't have time to work on it. Early May left a couple voice messages which never got returned (ignoring your costumers now.... classy) May 26th I stop by and find nothing has been done other than dis-assembly. I'm professional, I remain calm and cool but call him out saying I was clear on my expectation of having a bike for spring (Which BTW is March 21st NOT MAY26th) If he could not get the work done he should have turned me away in August OR at the very least not take a deposit in Feb and March. He then proceeds to lecture me about running a business and that it's a process and I have to wait. It takes the time it takes. Calm and cool, I made it clear that I'm not happy with his service and he is not adhering to the verbal agreement. At this point I realize he's screwing me over, so I started looking into rebuilding my other spare motor myself. Wednesday May 28th Rob calls and says to come pickup my stuff, he's pulling the plug on the project. Claims to have spent the 2K deposit on parts which where packed up waiting for me. I am truly blown away by his unprofessional behavior. Holds my bike hostage for 10months, spends my money and then screws me over by not completing the job. I could have sent this motor away back in august and I'd be ridding right now, instead I have t take time off work to deal with this guy. Buyer beware....

UPDATE 2....After receiving a note from Mr Wubs ( a company rep) , I indeed placed a number of return calls as he suggested...I Left 2 messages on different days and (it should be no surprise) that I have not received a response of any sort...Par for the course I suppose.. Again folks, just a little customer service here is all I ask, something as simple as a return phone call..THE QUESTION IS, would you spend $25k on a new sled or Seadoo only to find out that when you have an issue you have this sort disappointing customer communication/service...??? Its worth a second thought I assure you......Ill keep you posted UPDATE 3...After posting the update #2, He did call me back and after a 20 min he told me he would change his operational practice and ensure his people would communicate better etc...But I was still out of luck and he could not help me because it would set a precedent.... He did say that he would put a discount on my file so over time I maybe able to get my money back...YA I DON'T THINK SO.. BE CAREFUL POPLE... DO NOT BUY HERE

    Worst service ever. Brought an ATV in. They say it needs a certain part. Ok we buy the part. Then…read morethey say they cannot fix and no idea what is wrong. We pick up bike in several, separate pieces. And of course they charged $280 for absolutely nothing and the bike is now in worse shape with all these pieces they took apart.
