This dealership did not describe the condition of the car accurately, and allowed a test drive of a vehicle with apparent mechanic and safety issues. Called the dealership and made an appointment to test drive a 2009 Maserati Gran Sport. A close friend of mine wanted to fly in and drive the car home so I agreed to check it out and be a part of the transaction. Spoke with Matt on the phone who assured me the car was in 'mint' condition and that there were no issues with the car. I originally planned to view the vehicle within 24h, but was told the car was at another dealership being shown, but would be 'back soon because he had five other people inquire about it'. No problem, I had expected that maybe a car of this age/caliber, even with a low 51000 miles on it probably needs some work before being offered, and was willing to accept the car with some flaws if the price was right. Showed up two days later with my GF, about 30 mins late to my scheduled test drive (I appreciate the flexibility on a Friday). I was greeted and did a walkaround of the car before going inside. Noticed the under dash panel was missing from the driver side, a cluster of buttons were broken on the dashboard and sunken in, and a parking sticker from the previous owner remained on the window. Ok, maybe it was in for service? The Check Engine light was still illuminated, however Neither Matt nor the salesperson who went on the test drive acknowledged the other person, my GF, with me. It was like she was invisible. Rep made some questionable comments about women while we were on the test drive. Made us raise our eyebrows and ask "what year is it again?" The rep on the test drive talked the entire time - was hard to concentrate on the vehicle condition but did quiet down after I asked him twice. What I was able to discern: the car sounded awesome. It is a Maserati after all, but had been in at least one front end collision. The alignment was off and the car pulled to one side. The rep on the test drive told me they fixed it at the shop. Fender and hood did not line up, front bumper and grill had visible damage, and distance sensors were going haywire on the test drive. Between this and the CEL, I expected this maybe from a $5000 car on Craigslist, but not a $30k car being offered by a business with such a high Yelp rating. Got back to the dealership to talk to Matt, find out what the story was with the damage and perhaps make a deal given the flaws of the car. Went to park the car, and the parking brake was not functioning. Major safety issue, and probably the final straw. Matt was first very dismissive when I told him of the issues with the car, insistent that it was in reasonable condition. When I pressed Matt, while remaining courteous, about the accident damage and apparent effects on the radar/distance sensors up front, he became very combative and rude. He did not offer to look at the issues I mentioned and raised his voice. Because of their unwillingness to accept responsibility and put a potential customer at risk in a vehicle with apparent safety issues, I cannot recommend this business and would caution anyone in the market for a European automobile to purchase elsewhere.

I was pretty worried about having to haggle over a price for the Civic I wanted to sell but it wasn't necessary. However, a month into having the car, I had a nail in my tire (which I am liable for) and went to three different shops to get quotes for a tire replacement. ALL three shops notified me that the ALL the tires needed to be changed because all four tires were worn out and unsafe and that the dealership should have never sold it to me in that condition. Note: I had a paperwork from all three shops indicating all this. I called Albany of Subaru and got the run around and even got hung up on and finally requested the GM and they scheduled me an appointment. At the appointment, they denied covering ALL four tires. So I requested a paperwork that stated they would cover it so that I can file a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repairs and the Better Business Bureau. Finally they were able to cover all four tires BUT I still had to pay $140 for the alignment. NOW! My husbands outback car is having issues, which was purchased two weeks after mine.

It seems like it can be good in the right circumstance, but it's worth being a bit careful about it. A friend highly recommended the advisor, saying that they'd saved her a lot of money on her car lease and made the process easy for her. I called and talked for over an hour to the advisor. They were knowledgable and friendly - great customer service. I figured that I may be able to save a little money by looking for a deal myself, but that I wanted to save the time and hassle, so the cost would be worth it. Also, I liked the idea that Cartelligent had access to better deals than I would by purchasing at volume from fleet managers. My plan was to lightly get offer prices myself, compare them to the price Cartelligent got, and then hopefully having validated that they were beating my price sufficiently, I could use them forever and rest assured that it was a worthwhile deal. I reached out to a few dealerships and got opening offers. I was shocked when my Cartelligent advisor came back with an initial price that was worse than three of the five dealerships I'd reached out to, and that was before their $600 fee. When I explained this, they responded a little defensively and asked for proof I had better deals. When I provided it, they came back the next day with an offer $50 a month cheaper than the one they first sent me - a cost difference of $1,800 over the course of the lease! Thank goodness I'd looked on my own and not taken their word for it. The experience shook my faith a bit, so I decided to negotiate with the other dealerships myself and compare. Once I got a bit further into the process, I gave Cartelligent the ability to win my business if they could get to a specific number by dropping their quote a little further. They were unable to do so, so I kept negotiations up elsewhere. Specifically, when I asked if they could get to that number, the whole email they wrote back was "That's awesome. That's a great deal" and that was the last I ever heard from them. With a little bit of work, I ultimately was able to secure a lower price than Cartelligent had before taking their $600 fee into account. Using Cartelligent would have cost me many hundreds of dollars more than negotiating on my own over the course of my lease. At the same time, I was trying to sell my car through them. I did their thorough online process, taking pictures and filling out the form. After it was clear I was going to negotiate a bit and not just take their first price, I stopped hearing about the sale process from the advisor. After the "That's awesome" email, I never heard back from them again, even after asking for updates on the sales process over email. They ultimately never gave me a quote on my car. I think they got mad at me and ghosted me, which I found surprising and unprofessional. It's possible I was able to get an unusually good deal because the EV market is weak right now. The second quote - the one $50 lower - was reasonable, and it did take me a little work to beat it. However, it was clear to me that you should always do your own due diligence and get quotes to check the ones they give you. If you do that, ultimately, you aren't really saving yourself that much work, so I'm not sure the $600 fee is worth it. Edit: David reached out, and we talked about my experience. He sounded as surprised as I was by my experience, and he's looking into it. I was impressed that he would follow up!
