They could but they do more automotive work (engine, tires, brakes, transmission, etc. Not so much body work & paint. You could always call and double check!

From the moment I walked in, he greeted me like we'd been friends since childhood and cracked a joke within 30 seconds!! The man could host his own Netflix special and still get your oil changed in record time. He's got stories and opinions! But here's the kicker: beneath all the laughs, this place is solid. Quick service, great value, no sneaky upsells, and everything explained clearly. I left with clean oil, good vibes, and honestly a better mood than I came in with. And next week I'll be back so my car gets some more TLC!! If Cecilio ever leaves Tire Choice, I expect to see him on tour. Until then, I'm getting all my car work done here--front row, every time.

TL;DR: Not a fan of sales tactics & techs not checking their work…read more Full story: I'd previously been to Tire Choice after ordering a pair of tires off of Amazon in October 2023. It was a recommended installer by Amazon. The desk/tech guy named Dave was extremely helpful and friendly, so much so that when it came time to schedule my next visit last month, I actually set an appointment online and bought the second pair directly from them despite it being pricer than what I could have ordered online. Back then, this shop was an easy 5-star establishment. So why the lone star now? Sadly, Dave seems to have left as well as the integrity/workmanship. The service I requested was mounting/balancing the new tires... no rotation needed since I'd just rotated the tires. I wrote this in the notes section. Their website also offered a free alignment check, so I added that as well. Estimate was $520. Since this was short notice and I had business calls that morning, I'd texted my spouse (V) to give them a call and verify they had the tires. V confirmed the tires were in stock, but he relayed that I needed to get down there immediately. It was a bit awkward since it sounded as if there was a major rush... there were zero people and two cars in the parking lot. Alright, maybe he misheard? Fast forward to signing on the estimate before work: The new tech/service writer attempted to have me sign off on a $740 estimate. I'd read through it and was wondering why they tacked on $130 for an alignment service. He stated they just add that on and will only charge it if they have to adjust my alignment. "But I have a modified suspension... last I understand, shops like Tire Choice and Firestone won't touch non-stock alignment." When he realized I wouldn't sign off on the $130, he ripped up the estimate and reprinted it. Again, Estimate was over $600... the additional $80 was for roadside hazard insurance. I declined and he scoffed: "But what if you get a nail in your tire or there's a manufacturer's defect?" I tried to respectfully explain I hadn't intended to buy insurance and asked why this was added. He then states, "I swear, that's what I quoted your husband over the phone." I immediately called to check if V had agreed to the insurance... V states price nor insurance ever came up in conversation. The tech begrudgingly finds the free code as if it was inconvenient (had it on my phone) and prints the third quote. I sign off on this and was getting ready to post up at the bar top with a computer plug. He mentions it's going to take several hours. "No worries, it's fine, I've got hours of work to do." Sure enough, they put the car on the alignment rack, see that it's modified, and state they'd need an alignment kit to work on it (note: no alignment kit exists for that suspension brand... I'd know since I'm the one who installed the front/rear suspension). Though I was out in an hour and wasn't planning on writing a review, the car sounded strange while I was driving. I got home, parked to get the MFG week/year, and was annoyed enough to make this post: of the two tires installed, one of them was installed incorrectly (the "INSIDE" wall was clearly posted on the outside of the tire). Photo below. The uncomfortable sales tactics and lack of inspection prior to turning the vehicle over to the customer really bothered me. Some friends who are small business owners demanded I go get a refund and report this location to Chamber of Commerce or BBB. I feel like I've already spent enough time and money on this, so I won't bother, but hope this "buyer beware" helps others consider what they're getting into should they decide to go to this shop.

Meineke Car Care Center - The oil after a "oil change"

Finally getting around to writing this review. I brought my truck here in the summer of 2025, and…read morebefore I get into my experience, I'll give credit where it's due: Meineke has the most competitive price on a synthetic blend oil change anywhere in the East Bay Area. This could easily have been a 1-star review, but I'm choosing to give the technicians the benefit of the doubt and assume this was either an honest misjudgment about what my truck needed or perhaps a misunderstanding on my part. Either way, I think my experience is worth sharing. The staff was friendly, and the oil change was completed very quickly. Afterward, they walked me through a detailed inspection report with a long list of recommended repairs. My truck is over 20 years old, so I expected there to be some issues. What caught me off guard was the severity of what I was told. The estimate came to more than $3,500, and I was informed that the suspension and steering rack needed to be replaced, the tires needed replacement, and several other items. The mechanic emphasized that the truck was a safety hazard and even warned that it was possible to lose steering ability at any moment if the loose rod finally went out. I was honestly crushed. As soon as I got home, I started seriously considering selling the truck. I was supposed to help some friends move that weekend, but I immediately called and told them my truck was out of commission. I got a few quotes over the phone for the steering and suspension work, and Meineke's pricing was generally in line with the other estimates I received. Before scheduling the repairs, I randomly saw a coupon in the mail from my local Toyota dealership for 50% off a full vehicle inspection. I figured, "What the heck? Before I spend more than $3,000, I'll have the dealership take a look." I dropped the truck off and explained that the suspension and steering were probably shot. The next day, I got one of the best phone calls I've ever received - "Hey Matt, good news. Your truck is fine. The suspension and steering are definitely showing their age, and they're worth keeping an eye on, but there's nothing mechanically unsafe about them, and they do not need to be replaced right now." I was so stoked! The dealership did give me a laundry list of maintenance items, including replacing the tires that they considered super unsafe lol (which I finally replaced). Beyond that, however, the remaining recommendations were relatively minor. My hope is that the Meineke technicians simply made a recommendation that turned out to be much more conservative than necessary. That said, this ordeal caused me so much stress, and the report they gave me stated that these repairs were necessary for my safety. Since then, I've driven this truck nearly every day without a single steering or suspension issue. That discrepancy is hard to ignore

So I have to tell you about this place because it's important to know some things before you decide…read moreon a place to take your car, especially as someone who doesn't know much about cars. My car broke down on the freeway on the way to work and this was the closest place with the best reviews (on all platforms) and for good reason. Not only did they take the time to fix my car but they did not upsell me every step of the way. They did not tell me every single thing my car needed for the next 10 years and pressure me to do it right at that moment. Instead they took the time to help me understand exactly the state my car was in, what they had to fix, what was ok and what could possibly be needed down the line. All the reviews saying this is an honest shop, are all 100 percent true. The honesty and value at this place is truly worth so much more than words. (And this is coming from someone who had numerous bad shop experiences.) My trust was long destroyed ater failing to find a shop I can trust for so many years, all until the day my car broke down on the freeway and I found this place. I have been coming back every since and will not go anywhere else. The team here is incredible and they built something worth holding onto. If your wondering if you should come here, the answer is YES. ~ To the MTZ Auto Repair team, thank you for all you do.

Called around and these guys had a great price and I could bring in same day. I brought the car in and he told me I didn't need new brake pads for a long time and actually called Les Schwab and spoke with them too. That's when I knew I would be a customer for life since I live in Martinez. It's hard to find honest people these days! I've brought my car back for several tuneups - oil change prices are also better than the local oil change locations. I also had my transmission replaced and eventually my brake pads replaced. They always finish the work on time and are really nice people. You do get a discount if you can pay in cash.
