We found them having some of the best rates for mortgage and financed several cars. I found their rates to be better than regular banks and don't know if this has to do with being a credit union. We started with them at the old Lockheed site in Mountain View. I think at the time it was the only branch. They now have several sites spread throughout the South Bay. I recently visited their De Anza branch and kind of had a love-hate relationship because I thought they lacked friendliness & professionalism. On my last visit, I noticed several new people. What a difference good staff makes. Parsa in particular greeted me as I walked in the door, which I believe is the first time ever that has happened at this site. He further asked my reason for visiting and immediately helped me before I queued up at the teller window. I greatly appreciated this since he saved me a step in my banking business during that visit. As far as I'm concerned, he should be the bank mascot. He always greets me with a smile. He has made it a friendlier chore; if that makes sense. Sorry this was so late in reviewing. Thank you, Parsa for such a nice welcome in a business setting. Whoever says that?

Frustrating situation with Star One on San Antonio Road. I found two personal checks that were…read moreoverlooked from last year because they had slid under the stand for my computer monitor. They were over six months but under one year old. The app won't deposit a check that's over six months, so I called Star One and spoke with customer service to find out if they would accept the checks in person, since one of them was going to be annoying to try to get replaced. They put me on hold to speak with higher ups, then confirmed that yes, the checks can be deposited in person. I don't live that close to a Star One, and it was pouring rain, but it was worth it to make the drive to deposit the checks. However, I get there and the teller says she won't deposit them. I noticed the Star One contract says they're under no *obligation* to deposit a check over six months, but this doesn't mean they cannot. I've had an account with Star One for over 25 years, but I guess I'm just not important enough. The phone customer service was perfectly nice, and the teller in person was courteous (if a little condescending about the situation), but the inconsistency of information if a problem, and time is money (and they won't give me my money!). Customers need to be able to rely on customer service to give correct information. After all, in banking, I'm sure there could be much worse consequences than just a waste of time. Anyway...thanks for wasting my time, Star One.

But, in a market where cars are in high demand, supply is drastically low, and are selling for $10k+ over MSRP... thats as good as it gets. We were referred to Arkady through a friend. Hubby has a long history in retail sales, so the car buying experience has always been... eventful, as everyone knows. But now with 2 toddlers in tow, we weren't able to dedicate the months-long research, wheeling and dealing, and multiple dealership trips all over the Bay Area to get what we wanted. So we decided to give Arkady a try. We told Arkady what we wanted. SPECIFICALLY what we wanted. Down to the T. A brand new Platinum Highlander Hybrid in Pearly White. A special order color, in a very sought after trim level and combination. Arkady looked and found us a few, but we weren't ready yet. So we waited. And the aftermath of COVID was in full affect. The dreaded chip shortage. Dealer lots were empty, cars were being bought up like no other, and the market is now flooded with buyers willing to pay top dollar from a supply pool that would disappear with a sneeze. Unfortunately for us, we just couldn't afford to battle with ballers, so we waited, hoping Arkady could find us a deal. Luckily, Arkady was able to place us an order with the Toyota Factory for our specific car, in our specific trim. We waited a few weeks, putting our trust in Arkady, and we finally got the call. The vehicle had landed and was ready for us. Everything we wanted, as we had requested. Even in this market, he was able to get us below the MSRP, which is absolutely mind blowing. He promised, and delivered in spades. His cost of service is worth its weight in gold. The process was painless. He was prompt with his communication and was always straight forward. On delivery day, we met at his office and spent no more than 15 minutes doing paperwork.... to buy a car... that was tailor made to our specification.... at a deal we were more than happy with... We cannot emphasize at how valuable his services were to us, and our family thanks him greatly. Remember the kids? They didn't even have time to even THINK about throwing a tantrum before they were buckled up in the new car and we were on our way. Arkady runs a no-joke, no-frills, get-it-done business.
