Getting my cars serviced here. Amazing place on the mountain to get your car work done without going into the city. All repair estimate were fair. read more

Mountain Mechanics is great conveniently located in beautiful downtown Boulder Creek Mountain Mechanics has done many jobs on many different vehicles for all most 40 years and I'm very happy read more

Once again this elder, was treated with high levels of kindness. Sean has a knack of hiring kind and competent people. He advised me to change my tires, which were 15 years old. Always pleasant to be around. All the workers I talked to were extremely kind and are good listeners. Thanks Sean and his lovely workers for saving my life from a blow out! Another thing I noticed, as I was waiting, someone came to the shop with no appointment, about his engine light coming on. Most shops will move you along. The man who served that man in destress, had such a get to and hop to it voice and helped him on the spot. I am always impressed when someone is under crisis being treated with such kindness. Been coming to this shop for 40 years, and will till they put me six feet under. read more

We brought our Chevy Malibu in at 3pm to replace the Headlights, at 4:30pm they called us saying the Car is ready with New Headlights ! Amazing ! They had to remove the bumper to access the headlights ! read more

Great shop if you can get in. Its the only one in town so they are kinda picky on what jobs they will do. If you end up getting seen they are usually spot on with their quotes. They have a variety of mechanics with different strengths. Which is great cause they can troubleshoot things. I appreciate the new owner not being a rip off. Many shops inflate the costs and nickel and dime you to death. Wont name the shop but its in Scotts Valley and theyre not honest at all. This shop is honest, fair, and good at running a shop. He might need more breaks from the shop as he seems to ALWAYS be there. But, he works hard and so do his mechanics. All very nice people. I appreciate a professional environment where I do not have to be harassed for an oil change or a smog check. read more

Amazing shop close to home. All the staff have been so friendly and professional. They are my go-to now that I live in the mountains.

This shop attempted to fix my vehicles suspension twice, unsuccessfully. They misdiagnosed my vehicle twice, and I paid for repairs twice. Including paying hours of labor twice to have my suspension taken apart and yet the problems persisted. Turns out, I needed nearly the entire front suspension rebuilt, not just one part at a time! I took it to another shop that put the car up on the lift and showed me all of the worn bushings, and even found a broken control arm that could have broken off and caused a serious accident! Over $1,000 in repairs an hours of my time wasted for nothing! The new shop ordered me very affordable new control arms with preinstalled bushings, saving hours in labor costs. I paid less at the new shop to actually have my car FIXED than I paid MM for the two worthless repairs. Based on my experiences, I do not recommend this business. read more

M. Mech. Is an outstanding and dependable fast, clean shop that is small town helpful and courteous. They have NEVER let me down or disappointed. Why go elsewhere? Thanks gentlemen, Carol and Mike Snyder read more

Great place to take your car. The owner is very honest. He will not suggest work you don't need and the mechanics are good.

I needed a smog and oil change for an older (2006) Porsche. It takes unusual (&expensive) oil, so it's not on hand at most places except the dealership service centers. I had gotten a positive recommendation for MM from a good friend, so I called and made an appointment to bring in my car. It was a very easy process. I brought my car in, and the guys had it turned around the same day! I wasn't expecting it to be so quick. They were nice, transparent about expectations, and worked in safe conditions. They had their shop office set up with hand sanitizer and wore masks, etc. They will definitely be my go-to for all future services. read more

The check engine light came on in my Subaru and Mt. Mechanic ran a quick OBD scan on it. Turned out to be an issue with the catalatic converter... they did not charge me for the test and said it would need to be addressed before the next smog test, but otherwise it was OK to drive & would not damage the engine. I appreciate their great customer service! read more

This is an update to a brake job review from a month ago. They couldn't have done a better job. I've mentioned their honesty/integrity. After the brake job I noticed the pedal seemed a bit soft. Sean, without hesitation asked me to bring it in. Long story short. They found an issue. Fixed it, no charge. Do not hesitate to bring in your vehicle to Mountain Mechanics. The best I've done business with in my 50 years of car ownership. read more

They were easy to contact, good communicators, and the work was done when they said it would be. It was an easy experience, and a super bonus that I was able to drop my car off and then walk home! I'm lucky to have such a great shop so close by! read more

Sean and the crew are the best. Efficient, honest, and easy to deal with in all respects. This is a small town, but their service rates better than larger shops in the city. read more

Honest good mechanic! My 2006 sprinter van conversion broke down on Jamison Creek and I called them and they agreed to look at it right away! Many other mechanics shy away from a vehicle that large but not these guys! There are no sissies at this shop! Diagnosed problem, fixed, and reasonable price point. read more

Extremely happy with the top notch repairs on my car. It had about 5 problems that were all fixed most excellently for an affordable cost. I really feel Sean and his team went above and beyond with the repairs they made. It runs alot better now after they corrected the several issues and the gas mileage has improved which is great. My girlfriend also took her vehicle here and is very happy with the repair work. Definitely going to take my work truck here next. read more

I highly recommend, Mt Mechanics. They're top notch in everything they do. Reliable, respectful, trustworthy, thorough, professional, experienced, extremely patient, caring & the customer service is amazing. They've been in our area forever, as long as I can recall. For everyone who knows, Chris, retired, whom was the beloved owner, sold this fine place over 3 1/2 years ago to Sean. Sean & his crew has kept up their 5 star rating. I will not be taking our vehicles anywhere else. Thanks guy's! You're amazing!!! read more

I had my daughter's Honda serviced at Mountain Mechanics while we were there on a trip from Canada in September 2022. They installed spark plugs for $300, about twice the price in B.C., and after refusing to install the plugs we'd bought at the parts store in Boulder Creek. This weekend, September 2023, my daughter's car had a full shutdown as she was about to head into the mountains into eastern Washington. Luckily she was close enough to friends to get a place to stay and deal with towing in daylight. The mechanic found the Mountain Mechanics spark plugs had been tightened incorrectly, causing extensive arcing, which caused extreme corrosion of the spark plugs and one of the ignition coils. It was so bad the mechanic who fixed it took pictures. $500 for new spark plugs, a coil and towing, and a ruined weekend. Could have been worse if not so close to Seattle. Poor work and dangerous. read more

Brought our car in w/o an appointment. diagnosed and replaced the alternator and battery in under 3 hours. I've had tire changes take more than twice as long At other places. Mountain Mechanic is reliable, fast and trustworthy. read more

Sean and his crew did an amazing job for me and my Subaru. Bought an old 2002 Forester and needed suspension, brakes and steering work done. I had quotes for much higher costs with Subaru dealership and at wheel works where we take my wife's car. It was easy to work with Sean and I felt that I could have an honest discussion with him about price and what work was really needed. Trust is so important with mechanics and I'm usually pretty suspicious as I've known mechanics who've done some really sketchy things. Service was done quickly and car drives like new. Customer for life! Highly recommended. They don't put any pressure on you to write reviews either. Just feel that they deserve a shout out. read more

Sean does a wonderful job of running this well established local business. It has been the center of Boulder Creek auto repairs and maintenance for decades. When Sean bought the business from Chris, there were some people who worried that the fine service would disappear. Delighted to find out that Sean is carrying on wonderfully. Even though he seems to be heavily booked always, he seems to find time to satisfy everyone needs. Highly recommended. read more

Sean and his team are awesome. Very honest, trustworthy, reliable and overall great mechanics. He has made numerous repairs on my 95 4runner and they always do great work. Highly recommend!! read more

Fast and friendly service win great prices on tire service. I got a tire puncture repaired in minutes after dropping in without any warning. I feel very lucky to have such a nice mechanic in town. read more

Took my minivan here thinking I needed a fuel pump replacement. Sean does the diagnostic and finds out it's a simple misfire and does the correct job for my vehicle. Not too many mechanics will do the significantly cheaper job but that's exactly what they did and had me back on the road no problems at all. Honesty and integrity is key for any business, especially auto mechanics and Sean has both those qualities. read more

New owner Sean rocks. Super chill and no attitude... I dropped off a car I needed fixed the day before a road trip and he took care of it an hour or two later. I dropped off another vehicle for what I thought would be a major repair and his honesty shined through. The repair was very minor instead. Will now bring all cars to the new MM. read more

Sean and his crew are the best mechanics around. After another shop botched my transmission, they were able to give an effective diagnosis, refer me to the needed specialist, and complete a fix with quick turnaround and a very fair price point. I now drive out of my way to visit this shop for routine maintenance and smaller fixes, and I recommend them to everyone! Sean is always honest, transparent, and informative with his evaluations and recommendations. Appointments are often a bit booked up, but it's worth the wait if you need a trusted mechanic (that's why they're booked up). read more

I happen to be working on a house up Bear Creek road a bit and I needed to get a new axle on my Subaru. I just hopped in to see if the price was better than my mechanic in San Jose. For some reason it was $60 cheaper for the job. It was done timely and I especially liked the fact that before I left to get to work, Chris took the car for a spin to see if he could feel any issues. He also was able to tell me what other issues I have coming up and he filled my transmission fluid up for free. read more

Sean is great! We had a difficult project (Engine replacement) Sean and his team really shined on this one!. Their pride in workmanship was awesome. We use Mountain Mechanic for most of our repairs and Sean has never let us down. He continues to push his shop forward with technology updates and awesome customer service. If you are reading this and wondering if you should give him a try? close this screen and give him a call, you will not be disappointed! read more

Mountain Mechanic's five star average is well deserved. I've worked with them a number of times and have always had a great experience. Sean is a very genuine guy that just wants to give his customers the best work and service. His prices are very reasonable, work is done in a timely manner but also properly, I've never had to go back after I've had work done. You can't go wrong in trusting Mountain Mechanics with your vehicle. read more

There are only a few places I would go to for honest and reliable auto services and general maintenance. Mountain Mechanic in Boulder Creek is at the top of the list. I have a relatively new Honda HRV and every time I go to the dealership for an oil change they do a full auto inspection which I didn't even ask for and recommend at least $1000.00 or more worth of work. So every time I end up taking my car to Mountain and they do the work for a third or less of the cost of the dealership. But most of the time what the dealership recommends isn't even needed. That's why I trust Mountain Mechanic to give me the honest what I really need done and when I will need it done! read more

Shawn did a great job replacing my transmission. There were no surprises - he did the job as he said he would and at the agreed price. I was excited to get my 2004 Explorer fixed after it broke down and had been sitting on our property during and after the fire. I drove it to San Diego with no problem and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mountain Mechanic and Shawn. read more

I have been a customer at Mountain Mechanic for years and have always had a good experience there.
