Took my car in today - fair pricing and seem trustworthy Was a long time customer of a chain that was local that ended up HORRIBLE - felt very upset about the industry. Feeling hopeful about the services at Doctor Auto moving forward ! read more

Great experience with Doctor Auto. Clear communication throughout with diagnosis and cost estimate. Work was complete within 24 hours of receiving the parts needed. Will use again! read more

Got a new clutch here in 2021. Great service. I used them a lot fory old Nissan frontier truck for many years. Honest, kind, professional local small business. read more

I was purchasing a used car and took it to Dr Auto for an inspection before completing the deal. Their attention to detail is amazing......they even noticed that license plate light was not working! They gave me a super detailed report along with quotes for the issues that would need to be dealt with, including a timeline of when the work might need to be performed. Great people to deal with and I recommend them highly! read more

By far the most reasonable and honest mechanic in Santa Cruz County. Explains all issues and work to be done in laymen's language. Beyond trustworthy business. Never a question in my mind about the work being done. Rare in today's businesses. Thanks to Alex and Francis for continuing to offer this great service to our community. read more

My mom took her car here recently and is so grateful she did. The guys were very honest and friendly, and their pricing was fair. Their repair was fast and thorough. Would highly recommend this shop! read more

We had brake trouble when coming into Felton and stopped at Doctor Auto to have it inspected. Francis was very helpful and communicative and was able to help us the same day, giving us what we needed to get back on the road safely. Their prices were average and we paid a fair value for the work done. Highly recommend. read more

The work is always completed on time, the prices are fair and the team is trustworthy. I highly recommend them! read more

Excellent service. They know what they are doing. No up sales. I recommend them highly and will visit next time I need car repairs

We are extremely grateful to have learned about this reliable and trustworthy company. Our car was making a noise and their mechanic diagnosed then advised us truthfully without any attempts to "sell up" or exaggerate. They have a great reputation among the local long-time-residents which, we now know, has been well earned. My husband has always been in charge of "talking to the mechanic" --when we need one--due to his past hobby of having worked on cars...and my suspicious view of them. However after our car's two repairs, both completed by Dr. Auto, we are both confident in their abilities, and highly recommend Dr. Auto to anyone in need of a skilled and honest mechanic. read more

I took my car to a dealership 2 weeks ago for an air bag recall and when I picked it up they had found other things that needed to be fixed and quoted me $864 to replace the coolant hose, flush the coolant, replace the clamp and replace a missing washer on the oil pan & do an oil change . They also sent me a video of their technician explaining all that needed to be done. I've been going to Dr. Auto for years and sent them the video to get their quote which was $320 for the same work. It turns out that the hose was fine and the clamp just needed to be tightened. They did an oil change and replaced the washer all for $74.04. I highly recommend their excellent service & we are so lucky to have such a reliable and trustworthy business in our community. read more

These guys are honest, and do very great quality work. Solid all the way around. Francis is really good at customer service and they always keep the communication open in a reliable way. I've brought 3 different vehicles to them over the past few years and I've always been really happy with the results. They performed emergency surgery on an old 4 runner that I bought which had A LOT of things wrong with it, and after they gave it back to me it ran like a brand new car almost. We're very lucky to have these guys in the San Lorenzo Valley. read more

Just absolutely stellar communication around problems, expectations, possible costs, and possible other problems. This is rare in ANY business. Prices are reasonable, attention is superior. [I'll add more when I get my car back, but I thought it was important to say this about Alex and Francis now. Truly, good management and communication skills need to be rewarded.] read more

Yeah! 5 Stars - that's what I am giving Dr. Auto! I had to rush out to a clients location 80 miles from Felton on Friday and I accidentally ran over a steep driveway which pulled the face plate protecting my exhaust pipe back making this huge scrapping and screeching noise. I pulled into Dr. Auto and where I met Alex - who jumped under my car, discovered this issue and took a hammer to it for a quick repair in minutes at NO CHARGE! That is what I call some serious LOCAL Customer Service ever! Thanks Alex - you saved the day! It was the first time I had issue with my car. Wasn't easy to decide on a repair shop to fix it However Alex and Francis made our experience way easier. I do recommend Dr. Auto! read more

A great local shop everyone is very friendly and they are fast too. A wonderful alternative to Ernies just up the street. I had I brake job done and a master cylinder replaced, after they got the parts it was done in a day. Finally a good small auto mechanic in Felton. read more

Ive used Alex for several years now, for my rare RX-7. I've had him do body work, custom electrical installs, and general repairs. He just installed a fresh set of tires for me yesterday. He's well-educated, knowledgeable, happy to share information and show you what he's talking about and explain it, his rates are fine and his work is terrific. I send every friend I can to him anymore without hesitation.. Also, the reviewer Lucia M who gave Alex a 1-star review is *factually wrong*. Resurfacing brake rotors IS NOT AT ALL standard with replacing brake pads. Nor can warped rotors be visually noticed. I've done both jobs for myself in the past. read more

Staff and work is excellent. But I was disappointed when they were fixing an oil leak gasket and then said there was oil i the bottom of the engine that might be there a a result of the gasket or it could be another leak they would have to check again. That was not acceptable, I thought they could have pressure washed the bottom to see if it was leaking elsewhere. Like fixing a leak on a sinking ship and not seeing where the rest of the water came from in the ship. Do the whole job.I spent close to 800--how about a little extra effort. In spite of that, I think they're quality people who honest and have integrity in their work. I look at this as a mistake; unfortunately, it means it's a mistake that's on my dime not theirs. read more

I live in Felton and was in need of a reliable auto repair shop. My vehicle was making a metal to metal scraping noise from the front right wheel. I called Dr. Auto to see if they could take a look at it. I spoke with Steve who said they were swamped but bring it in and he could take a look at it. Turns out it needed front brake pads but it was not an immediate need so I scheduled an appointment two days out. They completed the repair at the quoted price and although the repair took longer than originally estimated, Steve kept me informed with regular phone updates on the status of the repair. Should the need arise, I would absolutely use Dr. Auto again... read more

The estimate for repairs on my 2005 Camry at the dealer came to $990. I had AAA tow it to Doctor Auto and they did a great job for $562. The work was done quickly and the guys there are great. read more

Really impressed, Doc Auto took in the car, fixed exactly and only what was needed. Honest and great price for the work they did.

Awesome job Great service Reasonable price Can't say enough about the workmanship and honesty. Not to mention the supportive customer service. read more

It took me YEARS to find a mechanic that I trusted! Honest mechanics are so rare. So happy with Alex and his team at Doctor Auto. I bring my car here for everything and I used to take it to the Porsche stealership in Monterey, never again. He always does a great job and really I have to say I'm a super picky Porsche driver and they just go the extra mile. read more

Second negative interaction with Dr. Auto. I took my car in for new front brake pads and afterwards, when slowing down on the freeway, the car wobbled. I took it back in. They said I needed new front roters to fix the problem. They would charge me an additional $250! Why didn't they notice that in the first place?? Took it into Lloyds in Santa Cruz. They said the roters only needed resurfacing, which is STANDARD with new brake pads. Dr. Auto completely screwed up and then refused to fix the real problem: THEIR WORK! I will NEVER go there again, and advise you to do the same. read more

Been to doctor Auto in Felton for 15 years. I trust Alex 100%. He is not hiding behind a curtain. You can see what he is doing.

When you take your car in to get repaired, it always feels like a gamble. You never know if the place it going to rip you off, try to sell you things you don't need, or in some cases treat you terribly! Worry no more! You have got to take your car into Dr Auto in Felton! I honestly feel like when I go in my car is in good hands, they care about my car, and they know what they are talking about. I've taken my car there 4 times now (twice with 2 different cars). I've never had fishy stuff go on with my car afterwards, which I know can happen after taking your car into sketchy places. Thank you Dr. Auto for being awesome and not like other places I've been to! read more

I own a mid-1990's Oldsmobile which had long list of mechanical issues. Alex and his team of mechanics were able to hunt down all of the many issues plaguing this old car and bring it back from an otherwise un-driveable and unsafe state. Price are extremely fair and they are very up front about what options you have for repairs. No hard sells or funny business, just great consulting and work. I'm very happy to have a great local shop to work with. Highly recommended. read more

I came here on a recommendation from a client. Been trying to find someone locally to do some work on my vehicle. Very friendly, Prices are reasonable too. I had my window motor/regular replaced, very quickly and saved me $140 from the dealer's quote. Dr. Auto also gave me a descent quote on a tune-up too, which will be soon. Thanks again, and I will return. read more

We have had great experiences with this mechanic. Very honest and fair. We are so glad to have found a trustworthy mechanic. I would highly recommend. read more

Brothers Francis and Alex are two of the most honest and fair people I have ever met. And they are great mechanics, too (yay!). What more do you want fro a car mechanic? Been coming here for years and never ever had a bad experience here. If you come in on a budget, they respect that and make sure you spend on what really needs work. I used to go to Ernies, but Dr. Auto has better prices, they are faster, and are at least as good a mechanic (if not better) as anyone else around for my Toyota and my Dodge. A gem of a place in our valley. read more

This is the first auto shop that I feel I can trust. Need I say more?

I've been using Dr. Auto for 5 years. They keep my 2015 Ford F150 and 2005 Jaguar S Type in top condition. Alex knows his stuff and is fair in what he charges. He always has time to explain what needs to be done as well as what the expected cost will be. I could continue with the accolades but suffice it to say you would be hard pressed to find a more competent and honest repair shop. read more

This is a terrific shop. I live in Felton and have been bringing my cars and truck to Alex for at least 8 years now. Sometime I expect a big repair only to find out it was something minor. It's offensive to me that someone would claim that Alex is dishonest. You get a great reputation by being honest. This shop gets well deserved 5 starts. read more

We don't go anywhere else. Everyone is knowledgeable and polite, and so reliable. They keep us informed and present options when possible, and their work is great. we've dealt with them for years. read more

This was my first repair/experience with the shop and it was great! I found a coolant leak under my car and suspected the water pump. When I called, the guys were polite over the phone and able to schedule an appointment for me for the next day. After a diagnosis, they called back when they said they would to confirm the problem, discuss options, and suggested looking at the timing belt and pulleys while replacing the water pump. I said I had already replaced the timing belt only 40k miles ago, but that they should take a look while they were in there. They fixed my car on time and upon looking at the timing belt, etc., agreed that it didn't need to be replaced. The final bill was a bit less than they quoted me - all in a two or so day turn around. This was a stress-free and seamless experience. I trust this shop and will be back when I need any service on my vehicle. Lastly, others in town recommended the shop and they were right. Thanks! read more

Three cheers & five stars for Doctor Auto. They took me in without an appointment and fixed my truck the same day. I'll definitely be back! read more
