I took my car to Gann's Automotive, where the owner, Paul Gann, told me the engine had failed and…read morethat the car was unsafe to drive. He advised that I replace the engine immediately at a cost of over $5,000. He also told me the car was worth less than $2,000 and suggested I buy a new one. As a mom who had just been in a recent car accident, hearing that my car was "dangerous" was extremely stressful. I felt pressured and rushed into purchasing a new vehicle I hadn't planned on buying. Before selling my car, I decided to get a second opinion at CarMax. They found nothing wrong with the engine and ended up buying the car from me for $7,000. Being given incorrect information in that situation caused unnecessary stress and financial impact. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before accepting major repair advice from this shop. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this business.

I have both good positive and negative regarding Ganns Automotive…read more Paul and Brian and staff are very nice they recently fixed my Caravan window which would not open or close. We did buy a car from Ganns several years ago and they honored the warranty had to brig it back several times. Unfortunately, the most recent experience the gasket they fixed for the Caravan fell off. I brought it back and they put it back on. Ganns did my last oil change. I am at a different auto center today because check engine light came on and asked them to do oil change. Ganns did it way to tight, and also big oil leak end result needed new pan and what was going to be a $150 is now $500. I shared with Brian the head mechanic what happened and he said we fix oil pans all the time. The manager where I am at said that is all he had to hear if they fix oil pans all the time the mechanic is not doing them right. This was clearly Ganns fault and I didn't bring it back to them because I need the car today and usually 2-3 days for Ganns to repair your car if your lucky. The one other experience I will share is that one time Paul could not figure out why the car would not start. I didn't mind paying a normal diagnostic fee but he was charging like $140 and no repairs were done which I thought was excessive. I did complain and he more or less asked me to leave didn't pay anything and that was not my intention . The bottom like I am done going to Ganns if I need to drive to Lilburn so be it.

I was able to call over the phone then invited in to do an expecting and get an estimate on what needed to be done on my car . The lobby was pretty clean and they had plenty refreshments available for free while you wait . Coffee , water , and snacks. One thing i didn't like was the wait i arrived at 5pm and my appointment was at 5:30 and I still needed up leaving at 6pm , the whole point of showing up early was because i had somewhere else to be . Other than that everything was good and they were pretty knowledgeable but just like any typical automotive shops they point out more problems than what you came to Handel . $7200 is a whole new car so i don't know if they can help me but I'll leave a second review if i actually get the work done it won't be everything but it might be a few things

I even called…read more5 minutes before arrival to make sure the time quote was still going to be accurate & I was told "yes". It took 58 minutes to have the patch done. I didn't get a "sorry it took twice as long" or any kind of acknowledgment that I'd basically been lied to--twice. I will be sure to tell my co-workers & friends not to use this business if they value their time. Owner contacted me after I left the above review on their Facebook page. Owner lied to me (again) and said that the reason the patch took so long was because the plug was leaking air. I told him that IF that was true, it wouldn't matter if there's a leak or not because the plug should be removed before the patch is applied (my husband's a trained mechanic). The owner realized his lies wouldn't work & just said "sorry for your inconvenience".

I've now had two cars, one right after the other, repaired by Georgia Luxury Auto (GLA). I'll…read morenever go anywhere else. Here's why... The first car was done perfectly and on time. The second car was a whole other story because of complicated insurance issues. My wife was hit by the semi of a shipping company at night. I gave the info to GLA and the process began. And then the insurance process hit a great big snag. The first problem was the shipping company needed to determine whether they were going to cover the claim or their driver's own insurance, based on what they were doing at the moment of impact. Were they delivering packages? Were they done for the day, off the clock, and just driving home? So that took an inordinate amount of time -- not GLA's fault, of course. Then Garrett, the Estimator at GLA, submitted everything to the insurance company the at-fault people decided would cover the claim. If that insurance company were as diligent as Garrett was in trying to move things forward, it would have been done at least a week earlier. As it stood, the insurance company didn't pay much attention to the emails Garrett sent them and dragged their feet, resulting in delays for GLA. After days of not getting needed responses from the insurance company, Garrett had had enough. He escalated the issue to the owner of all the GLA locations, they worked out a plan to force things into motion, and it worked. The parts were ordered, the work started, and I could finally relax. The mark of a great repair company is not that it does everything perfect every time because that cannot happen; reference W. Edwards Deming's Red Beads Experiment for a great example. No, the mark of a great repair company is how they respond to and manage ANY issue, regardless of whoever is actually responsible, in the damage-insurance-parts-repair ecosystem. GLA resolved problems they shouldn't have had to resolve because they were the responsibility of other companies, but they managed them anyway. GLA -- especially Garrett -- tore through the spiderweb of other people's problems and got the job done. Bottom line: I don't know how the personnel of any repair company could have done more to earn my repeat business. GLA has it.
