I have been a frequent guest here since 2021 with multiple different cars of both Japanese and Euro brands. I've always been treated well, and while the pricing isn't the cheapest, I don't think it is unreasonable for the neighborhood they are in, and the brands they service. I have been comfortable knowing that there aren't shenanigans going on here. I like the inspection report that lists all major areas of my cars and if there is a recommended action. I also like that when I speak to Lucas, he ballparks when I need things done in case I want to spread out preventative maintenance. I've since left the region, but I do still visit a few times a year, and work in my service visits while I'm in town. That's probably the biggest endorsement I can give. read more

Brought loose tire, as in removed from vehicle tire, for patch from small nail hole at 3 PM. Lucas, my service writer accepted it without disclosing fee because it had to be inspected first. Tire was completed following day by 8 AM. Upon picking up tire, was provided a fee for $46.24 for labor. It should be noted that the Auto Stop charges irregardless of the amount of labor done for their special service. Upon discussing the price with Lucas, he stated that it's like $70 at a dealership. First off, most dealerships do not do tire patches, hence why I came. Upon referencing that the same repair is $25 at Pep Boys and $30 at the respected VA Tire, he stated, "This isn't the shop for you." It should be noted that he told me he would return my money if I agreed to never be a customer again. It seems my point on proper charging versus trying to get free stuff was lost on him. This offer was made while a different upset female customer was ordering herself a ride. If you would like a cookie bag or dog toy while getting surcharges, then Auto Stop is the spot for you. Initially I liked this place because I thought they were helpful at explaining things and I appreciated the full reports you get with pictures of what needs to be serviced next. However by my second visit I realized they are at best charging very high prices, and at worst actually manipulating some of the photos and results in those reports/taking advantage of the single female coming in for help alone. I can't substantiate that other than a bad feeling and a weird instance where when I went to have my coolant flushed elsewhere they opened the hood and showed me the levels were fine and did not charge me, but this place - Auto Stop in Arlington - showed me a picture of my coolant being extremely low in their report. I highly doubt the second place completely topped off my coolant fluid without charging me. Can't explain what actually happened :/ Just on the cost of the repairs -- I was initially quoted over $700 to flush cooling and break fluid, which I knew was crazy. Within 2 hours, they came back and miraculously found better prices coming down to $250 and $220 for coolant and break fluid. Meanwhile, literally the next place I called said the coolant flush would be $144 and likely it didnt need to be flushed just topped off. Next I was quoted $450 to replace 2 tires, where as the exact same tires were replaced for $300 elsewhere. This place could certainly do better. They have lost my trust. read more

My second visit was as good as the first. One of my tires had gone flat overnight about 3 times in the last 6 months. I had it checked several times (at other places). They found the culprit (bad valve stem), arranged for rides home and back and delivered the car back for a fair price. I won't hesitate to bring my Audi to Auto Stop the next time I have a problem. Feel like I got ripped off just because it's a shop in Arlington yea they fixed my brake pads because I told them the problem but they also charged me $180 to rearrange my front brake pads which were new, just that they were installed wrong a guy named Lucas said it would be $1900 to change my front wheel bearings when I went to Ford Masters and they quoted me at a cheaper rate, 1,139 just to repair my back brakes and rotors the labor was 3/4 of the bill which I find ridiculous and I don't feel good about coming there anymore because of the feeling that I just got robbed read more

Amazing. Arrived 6:05pm with a nail in flat tire. 6:20 the tire was repaired. All tires were re-inflated and the donut tire was back in the trunk. The attention to detail and speed of service were so refreshing. The final delight was $20 dollar price for the best tire patching service I ever recall. I've lost trust in this establishment over the last 5 years. Questionable alarm bells going off when I have visited have turned into distrust. After an oil change and full inspection on a 4 year old car, over 4 separate visits, I was told that my coolant level was dangerously low (just needed to be topped off), my battery was showing bad levels and needed to be replaced, tires were looking bad and would need to be replaced (next visit? Lol jk the tires look fine), air conditioning system should be fully flushed and coolant changed, and most egregiously when I took the car for a second option based on the conflicting reports from this garage, I was informed of an ACTUAL ISSUE that needed to be addressed under warranty before it ran out. (A small engine oil leak near the timing cover, which was then replaced by the dealer). This larger more important issue being missed and the inconsistency in reports out of this garage made me feel as if I was being fleeced as a young female. I'm sure the owner would be disappointed but there needs to be better training for techs and they need to investigate who is suggesting all of these "new" up charges. Some people have left in the 5 years I've been going here and it seems as if things have changed. The prices are middle of the road, dmv is expensive. read more

I wish I had the amazing experience that other customers have had a Auto Stop but unfortunately, they tried to overcharge me for a full brake replacement. I took my car in yesterday to replace all four brakes (brake pads, rotors, etc.) Prior to taking my car in, I googled the average cost of a full brake replacement simply b/c I wanted to have an idea of how much it would cost. When Auto Stop was done inspecting my car, Lukas told me that in order to replace my front two brakes, and JUST the front two brakes, it would cost around $930. If I wanted to replace all of my brakes, it would cost $1,560. I then told Lukas that according to Google, the average cost of a brake repair is between $200-$800. Lukas then told me he'd never heard of a full brake replacement being so cheap. He googled the same query as me and said it didn't include replacing the rotors and that I didn't search the question correctly. Then he tried to mansplain to me how averages work and that we live in the DMV and things cost a lot of money here... I passed high school math, I understand how averages work. Additionally, I was actually expecting to pay a price closer to $800 - I was even willing to pay $1,000 for a full brake replacement. To add insult to injury, or just another reason to distrust Lukas, I went back and looked at my search query in Google....not only did I search the cost correctly, as it was priced for a full brake replacement, but the website I had found the estimate on was Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube, the corporate auto service shop who's notorious for overcharging customers and adding fees left and right, said that a FULL BRAKE REPLACEMENT would cost between $200-$800. Anyways, I asked Lukas if I could have a print out of the estimate, simply because I wanted to be able to compare the prices that they gave me to other mechanic shops. Lukas then said he couldn't give me a print out because I might try and take the estimate somewhere else and get a cheaper price... I've been driving for almost 2 decades and never have I ever been denied an estimate from any auto shop I've taken my car to. Needless to say, I left without agreeing to any repairs. I then called Jiffy Lube Burke and got an estimate for a full brake replacement. Here are the prices I was quoted: Front Axle: $479 Rear Axle: $479 Those prices INCLUDE parts AND labor. Never in a million years did I think Jiffy Lube would be the reasonable, "fair" establishment for a woman to take her car to but it appears to be so. So much for wanting to support locally owned businesses. I'm not sure if the brakes Auto Stop was trying to give me were gonna do my taxes or deliver CPR should I end up in a life-threatening vehicular accident but to anyone going there, PLEASE consider getting another quote from a different shop to make sure they aren't trying to rip you off, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN. And yes Auto Stop, I will be reporting you to the BBB. Thank you for the shady behavior and adhering to the stereotype that mechanics love to rip off women. read more

Was having issues with my water pump and the auto stop made quick work to make the repair happen. High quality work completed and a team that was a pleasure to work with. When they take your car in they send you a detailed report of everything that may need to get fixed but with no pressure to fix other that what you went in for. It took me longer than I should to write this update! But I wanted to let everyone know that I'm back to 100% recommending this place to everyone I know. The response to my concerns were swift and fantastic. The owner called me over the weekend and assured me they would absolutely help me right away. I drove over, and his partner was in the shop waiting for me. They looked completely over everything and nothing was at issue--just a bad sensor reading. They even called and paid for me to get the ubers to work and back to the shop after work. I also know they also had no idea about the phone number being incorrect in several websites and were working to correct that ASAP. It really is a great place, I just had an experience that worried me at first (and with the weird phone number issue made it difficult to reach out to them directly another way) and was quickly restored to complete confidence in the shop. I've been going to them for the past 2 years because the prices at my Subaru dealership are not fair! They always go above and beyond with helping me especially Lucas! Lucas has great customer service and tells it to you straight and has never made me feel pressured in getting work done! Recently my Ac went out and they fixed that part but it was still running hot at times and I took it back and told him that he gave me a rental to drive and finally figured out the issue with being with my controls and got it fixed for me. Pros: Offered a loaner car, quick turnaround Cons: Quoted $2000 above a second opinion (more than twice the other quote). Only use OEM parts, not aftermarket, and do not allow customers to purchase their own parts. They identified my tires as needing replacing even though they weren't that old and the other shop didn't recommend this (jury's out on whether this was a legitimate call). Ended up getting my repair done at a different shop. read more

I came here a few months ago after reading someone's review. I went to get my oil changed. They were a bit quicker than other places I've been to. They also have great customer service here. I liked them. The only thing I didn't like was how easily cars got crowded at the entrance when I went. Some confusing f*ckery was going on that made us all back out awkwardly and too close to 4 mile run drive. We all know how annoying a flat tire is, and what a pain it can be to get fixed in a timely manner. On Sunday, I was able to make an appointment online for Tuesday to get seen. Got a phone call the day prior to confirm my appointment. When I showed up, I handed my keys over and was directed to wait in a nice waiting room. There was fast wifi, and I was able to finish up a few zooms for work while I was waiting. I was only at the shop for around 2 hours, and they patched my tire, did a full inspection, and did my oil change for a little over $100. Sweet deal if you ask me! I also loved that they have a drop box for keys outside, so if the car is finished after the shop is closed, you can still come by to pick up your car. read more

After seeing how good the Auto Stop's reviews were I called in to see if they repair slightly bent rims. They said they do, depending on how bad the damage is. So I decided to take my car to them in the hopes they could fix it and I also needed an oil change so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. It was my first time here and I first drove past the place since the building is attached to another and it's only one garage. I dropped my car off and they called me a few hours later to let me know they wouldn't be able to fix the rim. If they tried they might do more damage than good. But they did give me my oil change. On the call they mentioned some services they provide that Volkswagen recommends for the amount of miles I have on my car. I chose to decline 2 of the 3 services. But did get my heating/air filter replaced since I've been smelling a nasty smell from the vents and it's made all the difference! Their customer service is amazing. That's why they get 5 stars. They were quick and efficient and the process was painless. I wouldn't want to have to wait in their small waiting room but it was great for a drop off! P.s. They also gave me a goody bag for the road with snacks in it. Who doesn't love snacks?! Would definitely recommend this place! read more
