My daughters car was hit in March while she was attending college in Mt. Pleasant. Joe's team picked up the car and gave me an estimate within a couple days. The price was good so we had the car repaired. It was a 2010 Impala that had the entire front driver side smashed. The shop kept us informed on what work was being performed and how long they thought it was going to take. In the end the car was fixed and looked better than the day we bought it. My car had broken down at the hospital parking lot, Auto Owners scheduled them to pick up the car since we were unable to jump start the car. The car was scheduled to be transported to Bay City from Midland when we lived close to Auto Solutions. I spoke to the service person on site explaining what had happened and if they would be able to help me since it is a Subaru. They assured me that they were qualified to take care of the problem and would try and fit it in yet the day it was delivered since I had an appointment out of town. They did get a chance to find the problem, although didn't have the part, but would order right away for first thing in the morning. The parts came in, they fixed by car, cleaned the inside and outside of the car, with a small bill attached. This service is was way over and above what was expected. Is there a way to click on zero stars? I HAD to write a review of how this company jerked me over so you can be warned. A side door hinge on my van was breaking free where it needed to be welded back on. I stopped in and spoke with Joe. A nice guy who later told me he was the owner. He took a few minutes, looked over the hinge, and told me that he would have to order new door pins because one was probably messed up. I asked him how much for the job? He said ball park figure, $200. I agreed and we stepped in his office where he took my information and told me that he would have to order the pins. He said they would be in the next day, but said we should go ahead and bring the van back in 4 days later to be on the safe side. He said that for some reason if they didn't get the pins by then, he would call me. 4 days later, we get there and are greeted by a receptionist. I told her that I was there to drop off the van to have the door repaired. She told me she didn't know anything about it. Joe was sitting in his office right behind her and chimed in. He asked her if she got the pins. She told him she had no idea what he was talking about. He then came out and reminded her about how they tried to order the pins and their main rep wasn't there that day. She began looking around for them or for the purchase order. Joe went back to his office and in the meantime, another customer came in. She immediately stopped looking for my stuff and went into taking care of her. Nice! I patiently waited and after some time, she finished with that customer and then stepped out. I assumed she was in the shop looking for the pins. I continued to wait. After a few more minutes, Joe came out and asked if she was helping me. I told him, "I think so, I'm not sure. She was looking and then walked off." I think he assumed she was still searching for them. After a good ten minutes, she came back and sat down like I wasn't even there. I asked, "So, I'm guessing no pins?" She had no idea. Finally, Joe came back out to see what was happening. Long story short, the pins weren't there. I asked if we need to reschedule. I get it. Things happen. He said no, go ahead and leave the van and he will get the pins rushed over and have the job taken care of before the day is up. Great! I was driving home and after almost the ten-minute drive was complete, he calls me and says that the pins won't be in for a few days and I need to come back and get the van. So, I turned around and drove ten more minutes back to get it. He said that they would order them and we rescheduled in 3 days. 3 days later, I go in. Inside the front office, there was no one to be seen except for a worker out in the shop. I waited for ten minutes before the receptionist came out and asked how she could help me. "I'm here to have the door repaired." She was there for the conversation three days ago, yet she responded with the same attitude she gave her boss a few days earlier, "I have no idea what you're talking about!" I told her I was there three days ago, and... She cut me off by saying, "I wasn't there!" I responded calmly, "You were there when Joe and I were talking about the company not sending the pins." She responded, "I wasn't listening." LOL "Is Joe here?" She said no, it was his day off. I kept the conversation light by responding, "How dare him have a day off." She joked back, "Yeah, he took one off last week too." So, mysteriously, without giving her any of my information about who I was, she pulls out an invoice for the job. She placed it on the counter and said, "The estimate should be accurate." Why would she say that? Interesting... I soon found out why. The invoice said $438! I was blown away. "No, it's not even close to being accurate. It was supposed to be around $200." I understand that was a ballpark figure, but $438 it WAY out of the ballpark. She began breaking down all the charges. $115 for the new pins, two hours of labor to reweld the top hinge, one hour of labor on the new pins, and the cost to repaint it. Repaint it? What in the world? I said that I didn't care about all the charges, it was only $200. She typed on the keyboard for a minute and said that after taking off the paint, it was $384 dollars. I said that was still nowhere where it was for the original estimate and she began reading off all the charges again. I started heading for the door and said, "I guess I will just go somewhere else." She continued, "I can't take off any more charges." "Can you call Joe?" "No, he's camping." Sure he is... Obviously, he is just taking the day off and that's their excuse to not bug him. I get it. He doesn't want to be bugged on his day off. Either way, I don't care about being lied to. I started for the door again and said, "Be sure to tell Joe thank you for jerking me around." She responded, "Do you expect us to just give it away?" That's the final straw. If I go to buy a car for $8000 and I tell them I want it for $1000, then the ter read more

I hit a deer half way on my trip up the state. They were the tow truck AAA sent. Turned out to be the best thing. So at 10 pm, I was set up with a loaner car for free and sent on my way. Even though I had quite a bit more driving to do, I had the loaner for the whole time and all the miles. Then I got my car back. So happy with their work. Looks great and runs great. My car was nearly totaled, so there was plenty of repairs for them to take care of. Big thank you to all who helped me out! read more

Our motorhome broke down on the side of M-115. Andy was dispatched and arrived quickly. He assessed the situation like a pro and has us hooked up and headed for his shop. Andy made that experience feel so much less awful. He gave us a ride back to his shop where we had a ride waiting. Andy was calm and kind and that is what I needed after our "disaster". Auto Solutions made a horrible situation, with our collision, a whole lot better. Having a bad collision so far away from home could have been much worse.Joe waited at the shop way after bussiness hours just to try and help us with our original travel plans. He gave us a loaner vehicle and kept us on our way. After our insurance co. told us they would fix our 2006 F-l50. We gave Auto Solutions the go ahead. After a 3 week aprox. finish date was extended to 4 weeks we were told our truck was done. When we saw our truck it looked like new. The longer finish date was well worth the wait. Auto Solutions did a great job fixing our pickup truck. I would strongly recomend Auto Solutions for auto repairs or auto bump work. read more

I had an awful experience with these guys. Car was surging so I took it to a shop in Midland and had them diagnose it. They said it was the variable electronic timing solenoid or aka. VTech solenoid. I wanted to have it done some place closer to home so I took it to Auto solutions. Big mistake. They changed the variable VALVE timing solenoid even though he said VTech on the phone and on the receipt. And he also changed the pressure sensor switch that he didn't even mention he was changing. He also said he needed to flush the oil because dirty oil gets in the screens. He charged close to 500 dollars to screw in two sensors that should take 45 minutes TOPS. He said the book says 3 hours so that's what he charged. When I got home he said he found 80 bucks he could refund. GREAT. Still too much but at least he tried. Within a few days the car started surging again. He said it was particles in the oil. So I had to drop it off again. They gave it another oil change. Couple days later happened again. He offered the same solution. Week later happened again. Light came on and it started bucking. So he said it might take a few oil changes. I said they changed the wrong part. He said he didn't. But they cleaned the screen on the one they were supposed to change so I thought that might work. It didn't. Plus the gasket started leaking oil all over the driveway. They claimed it broke while cleaning the screen and gave us a new one and changed the oil AGAIN. A few weeks later, the oil pressure switch they replaced started leaking oil. We were in Detroit so we had to have another shop look at it. That shop made a video of it on the hoist of oil pouring out like a water fall and said it took him 5 minutes to figure out Auto solutions had the wrong size gasket. It was too small and couldn't seal. He asked where the shop was because he didn't want to get any resumes from those mechanics because he couldn't believe they didn't see it. I had to pay that mechanic another 45 dollars for auto solutions mistake. A day later the original problem started again. I took it back and said I've been back 5 times and two of the parts you worked on leaked and I had to have another shop fix what they did. And I STILL have the original problem. I said at this point maybe I should just get my money back and told him if he had changed the right part I wouldn't have to keep coming back. He wanted me to take it somewhere else and have documentation and a phone call from the technician before he thought about a refund. I told him I have been here 5 times and two of the parts leaked and I STILL have the original problem and he should consider that maybe it was the wrong part. He told me they fixed it and it's been getting better with every oil change. I told him that I don't believe any other repair shop would just have me keep coming back for oil changes. Then he said he isn't giving me a dime back because since the day we walked in he gave us discounts and free oil changes that he should have been charging us for. I told him he did free oil changes because he NEVER FIXED WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD. I couldn't believe he was getting lippy with a customer and I was in a shouting match with someone who was clearly WRONG. Anyone could see he screwed me over. I left and told him I'd tell everyone in the city and he yelled something as I left. Now I have found a couple reviews that have sounded like my experience. I won't stop until everyone knows what kind of guy Joe at Auto Solutions is. When I brought it back for their incompetence he never even apologized for all the extra trouble it caused. Take my advice. I'm sure they get stuff right but you don't want to end up in my shoes because when they get it wrong they DONT CARE. I'm out 500 and still have the original problem and REALLY clean oil. read more
