I made an appointment 7 days prior for a tire changeover from winter to summer tires (I wish I could've done it sooner). A couple of days before my appointment, I called and asked if they could add-on an electrical problem with a headlight and change the headlight and they said yes. I brought my car in a 1/2 hour early. They kept it for over 6 hours before Dennis telephoned me to say they didn't get to work on it because of working on cars from yesterday... really? He apologized and said they could start on it first thing Monday morning. I picked up my car and tires and told Dennis I was very disappointed in being treated this way and I asked if all their customers were treated this way - especially since I made the appointment 7 days prior. Dennis said well, they did have "other" cars to work on... how smug of him. Were the "other" cars on the schedule prior to mine... how ridiculous. This was so disrespectful to me that now, I will not disrespect myself by returning to Hampton Auto Repair to give them my business. It was just a few months ago that I spent over $1,000 there and was a regular customer, but no more. By the way, if I performed My job in this manner there would be consequences. Meanwhile I have a mechanic in holland who will LITERALLY let me drive my car until everything is fixed. It's nonsense. They fix stuff and d and j but they do rip you off. I say 1.5/5 or 2/10. Before I drove off, they reminded me that if I just want my fluids or my air checked, I can drive in anytime; they offer those services for no charge. What I really liked was the fact that the two employees spoke to each other respectfully and professionally, confirming information and working as a team, not like a couple of poker buddies who happen to work together, yelling across the room. Like I said, professional. They also took the time to wish me a safe ride home since an ice storm was beginning.
