I've come here a number of times and always had a great experience. Orlando and the team are honest, reliable, fair and quick. Whether my car needs regularly scheduled maintenance or just an oil change, I come here for everything. I appreciate how honest they are, once telling me "you drive so little, you could probably skip the next maintenance alert and wait until you hit a mile threshold." My suggestion on process is: 1) Call ahead and schedule an appointment 2) Leave a few minutes early to find nearby street parking 3) Walk up to the door, which is a bit hidden, and ring the doorbell read more

I had difficulty with my heat blowing in my Nissan Sentra. I needed a new blower fan. Orlando got it done in one hour and I was out. On point. read more

Orlando went above and beyond for me. I had a tow truck drop my car off 4 blocks from Orlando on a Sunday because there was no parking right in front of the shop. And the car wouldn't shop. So Orlando and his crew walked 4 blocks to get to my car, then pushed my car 4 to the shop, performed the diagnostic. And then pushed my car 4 blocks back to where it was. And didn't charge me for that extra labor. Orlando is nothing, but class! Great Guy! read more

I can't say enough about Orlando. I needed all new brake rotors and pads.. and a couple of other things on my luxury SUV. It would've cost me twice as much at the dealership... and he did a phenomenal job He's trustworthy --and all around nice guy. Highly recommend him! read more

Orlando is the most honest mechanic I have ever been to. He has made the cost of used car ownership much more reasonable compared to our experience working with dealerships or other repair shops in the city. His prices are fair and he values being able to educate you, as the customer, about what exactly is going on with your car, what repairs are absolutely necessary, and what repairs may need to be done in the near future. His shop is the only place I feel comfortable going to and knowing that I will be treated fairly and with respect. read more

Quality work and great value! Referred condo owners in my building and I was not disappointed.

I never write reviews. It takes either an intensely good or bad experience to motivate me to take the effort to write about it. But I had such an outstanding experience with this mechanic, I felt so compelled to write this review on google/yelp. I brought my car in recently for a regular maintenance check. I met Orlando, who looked the car over, and told me what I'd likely need done. Then, he spotted a huge dent on my car that I'd had for years. Without me even asking, he got a suction and popped it out for me for free!! Btw, I've had this dent for years and brought it to 5-6 auto shops throughout NYC and Chicago that all quoted me $700. But Orlando was honest and real with me, and said if I was driving in the city, there's no reason for such an expensive fix. Orlando is SO honest, fair, and thoughtful (for example, because my car is under certain mileage, he used company-specific parts in case my car is under warranty and I need to take it to the dealer in the future). If fixing the dent was any indication, he really just wants to help fix your car without upcharging. And he's quick, knowledgeable, and skilled. As someone who knows very little about cars, I always wondered how mechanics learn the large body of knowledge to fix all the different kinds of cars (like my 2019 Honda seems more computer than car sometimes), and it's clear that he's well experienced and read. Which really can't be said about everyone! Also, Orlando took the time to educate me about the interval of time to replace things, what I needed to look for, and even how to sand down/paint over my residual dent. I never even asked him to do all of this. He just makes the extra effort and clearly cares about his customers. I've NEVER had such a good experience with a mechanic! I referred him to my entire residency program. In a city full of auto shops, he's DEFINITELY worth the drive even if he's out of your neighborhood!! Please support this local business, everyone was wearing a mask in the pandemic, and he turned my car over within the day. read more

Orlando and his team are very honest mechanics. They are fairly priced and do a great job. Highly recommend them!

Orlando is the most honest mechanic in the WORLD. He honestly just wants to help fix your car without unnecessary up charges. I needed to fix my bumper and went to 3 other shops that quoted me $1000. Let's just say Orlando saved me almost all of that. I can't recommend him enough for anything from technical to body work. read more

Orlando is the most honest and considerate mechanic around with very fair pricing; good mechanics are hard to find and the South Loop/Pilsen neighborhood has found it. My very low mileage Buick was having some accelerating and idling items (along with the Check Engine light sporadically coming on), and when I went to the Buick Dealer, they originally wanted me to leave my car at the dealership for a "few days" to "fully diagnosis" it. Long story short, the dealer is the last place I want to leave my perfectly, otherwise, running car. We went to Orlando (since we have used him previously on another car) and he ran the error codes on my car instantly. My error code was a very "generic" error code at the time that is often hard to diagnose. Orlando did his troubleshooting, and while he couldn't get another official error read, he pinpointed the error to what he believed to be one of my cylinders misfiring. Since my car had such low mileage he advised us to go back to the dealer to just ensure that nothing was still under warranty (sometimes certain parts have longer warranties than the overall car) - he's super CONSIDERATE! He also told us to check Buick forums to see if there is a common cause of this "generic" code issue. We ended up scheduling a dealership service appt, and the dealer was not able to find anything wrong. They reset my check engine light and told me to go on with my life. I was SUPER frustrated, because something was definitely wrong with the car. A week later, I am on the highway and the check engine light comes back on, with very rough idling on the highway. We immediately go to Autozone to run our error codes to see if we can get something concrete, and we finally had a formal code pop up pinpointing to the cylinder that Orlando originally guessed it would be. We picked up the parts (ignition coil and spark plugs) and Orlando was able to replace within the day. Our car is running like NEW and I truly couldn't be happier. Orlando diagnosed AND FIXED my car's issue in less time than than the dealer took with their useless diagnosis. Thank you so much Orlando! You will continue to be our go-to. read more

Orlando is the most honest person/mechanic I've ever met. He cares about your car and does great work! I guarantee you will walk out of there with a smile on your face. By the way, he recently moved to Pilsen from his old location on Cermack. If you are looking for him, this is the guy. Would give him 10 stars out of 5 if I could. read more

I love Orlando. Great honest guy, took my rav4 in for complete inspection, fixed what needed to be fixed. I was concerned about my suspension since it's so bumpy after another shop put inferior parts but he mentioned not to worry it looks fine and he wouldn't spend money on it as I planned on selling it soon. Very appreciative of that read more

I've been to a multitude of auto repair shops in Chicago and NOTHING compares to Orlando & Auto Repair Plus. Most importantly, he's honest, personable, does a good job, and cares about his customers and building lasting relationships. Other shops have suggested unnecessary add-ons, and use budget parts to save themselves money, yet continue to have big profit margins for those cheap replacement parts that ultimately fail sooner rather than later. I highly recommend this place 100% read more

Orlando did a remarkable job on my car and runs great now! He went above and beyond and when they found other issues, they fixed them with no additional cost. This place is by far the best auto repair shop in Chicago! read more

Orlando takes the time to understand what your concerns are, then he takes the time to go through your vehicle and give you various options. He had taken care of me in the old location a couple of times. I have a 20 year old car, I don't drive much . . and I needed a new muffler and tail pipe. He got me in the day that I called. He charged me significantly less than I was quoted at a couple of the local franchise shops. He also talked me through some options to help restore my car over time and make it last as long as I want it to run. I highly encourage anyone who hates dealing with auto repairs to contact Orlando at Auto Repair Plus . . you won't get ripped off. Instead you will get great courteous service at a fair price. You will fully understand what he does with your vehicle and will likely get solid counsel on long term care. read more

Orlando was easy to work with from the start. I had my old car towed to his place, and he did everything he could to try and fix it. Then, when it turned out that it was done for, he helped us find a way to sell it. He was honest with us the entire way, and even gave me a ride home when I dropped off the car. He charges very reasonable prices, and I would definitely recommend him! read more

I stumbled upon this repair shop in my neighborhood after attempting to change a flat tire. Orlando was super helpful and honest in his recommendations on tire replacement and ordering some lug nuts that wouldn't swell or rust. Orlando is great! He replaced the compressor for the air conditioner on my 2008 Honda Pilot for much less than the dealer wanted! Before doing any work he checked everything out while I waited, and completed the job in a little over one day even though he had to order the OEM parts. He explains everything and is available for status updates. read more

I haven't been in to see Orlando since he moved shop, I was so glad to see another reviewer mention his old location on Cermak. I'm really pleased to find his new address here. He is honest and reasonable. He will explain what is wrong with your car in a way you can understand, and will show you the parts that are at fault and what is wrong with them, and how the new part looks different and will correct whatever problem you're having. For a reasonable price!! Highly recommend. read more

Orlando is the best! My car wouldn't start over labor day weekend. I had a family member tell me that I needed a new alternator and i believed it. VW also told me that i needed a new alternator. Orlando took a look and told me that all i needed was a new battery!! He easily could have jumped on the bandwagon and installed a new alternator, but he didn't do that. After all, two separate people told me that I needed a new alternator and I didn't know the difference. Orlando is a very honest man and I can't recommend him enough. I will be taking my car to him from now on. read more
